So downloaded this app once I returned to the UK from work in Europe. App was very simple To use and it is effective in what it’s designed to do.. which is a banking app ????.. but for me what has annoyed me and why I will be switching over my bank at some Point in the future is what I call reading between the lines and playing the game here and there. I am not going to give my experiences on here as it’s a open forum. But all I say is be carful. Read things correctly and make sure you fully understand. And if some information is missing in a deal or small print some where.. assume there worse cause I can 100% say Monzo will pull a fast one if there is no wording about it.

5 star rating are FAKES!!! Having so many 5 stars and still getting so many 1 star rating is simply incoherent. In my experience the service is at least poor and at worst making me think that a company should not be allowed to operate when failing at that level to match clients expectations... Additionally, if you check the profiles that posted a 5 star feedback you find that all other feedback they provided are 5 stars = are fake profiles used by marketing... That make Monzo even less reliable since is clearly cheating its online reputation instead of acting in a responsible way and addressing the issues.

Literally mental! I lost my card. When trying to get a replacement, i was told because i live on the isle of wight it would cost me £50 to get a replacement. This was funny for two reasons, firstly, because the isle of wight is classed as UK mainland so the postage prices are not different as the rest of the UK. We are not some separate entity. Secondly, i work in logistics, IT LITERALLY COSTS £1.72 to send a large letter to the isle of wight!!! After all this i was ignored! All other banks have a swift transition of allowing you to receive a new bank card. And funnily enough dont charge you for a new one! Do not bother wasting your time. I was so annoyed i had to laugh! WOW!

Ahh I see I'm not alone! They've closed many other people's accounts! At first this online bank was great. Easy to set up, card arrived in 2 days. App was easy to use. The functions good. But after a year they closed my account, with no advance notice and provided me with no explanation. A week before Christmas!! When challenged about this sudden decision to close my account I received this response; "Hugo taking over here (emoji wave) I'm sorry that this hasn't been the outcome you wanted. I've raised this with our customer advocacy team and they'll be in touch in the next few days. Just so you're aware they won't be able to reverse the decision to close your account. Please let me know if you've any other questions" My complaint wasn't upheld and they still have not given a reason for their decision to close my account. They didn't even give me time to download my bank statements before deleting my account! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!

Nothing but praise for this bank. Joined a few months ago and have now completely switched by banking over to Monzo using the current account switch service. Customer service is excellent through chat as it is well manned and they reply to messages very quickly. I also find the app fantastic to keep track of my spending and bills.

I have been using my Monzo card for around two years. I repeatedly experience issues with duplicate charges and in the past support has been quick to help fix these issues. However, lately this has not been the case. The main issues with Monzo are: - Patchy customer service - The app crashes when you have an issue and are chatting with customer service - Duplicate charges not being refunded

Monzo are in trouble as reported in the press (laying off staff) and it shows with current experience - they are terrible at anything - they don't even pick up the phones at present and simply lie when you complain. More shoreditch hipster VC garbage. Negative reviews all accurate. AVOID.

Coming from abroad, the processes of the traditional banks make it almost impossible to open a simple current account. They ask an impossible amount of signed docs, but Monzo is a great solution to avoid that! The process of opening a new account is safe and quick, and very convenient. Lost my bank card (got nicked) and within 1 day got a new one in my mailbox. So in short: this is the future of banking!

I am very pleased with my first visit here; i went in feeling like im carrying the mountains on my shoulders and came out feeling as light as a feather. The customer services team here are extremely kind and helpful and that is quite rare for a well-established company in London. Suez and Ryanna have been very supportive and their assistance exceeded my expectations. Even though what I asked from them was not a service offered in Finsbury Branch, they still did their very best to help me and I am quite satisfied with their assistance and appreciate their welcoming and friendly attitude. This place definitely deserves 5 stars!

I recently had a problem with a store, they charged me twice for a purchase. I called the store, they said they couldn't help! So I talked to Monzo and less than 3 hours the problem was solved! The people I spoke to were very attentive and quick to solve my problem. Very good service

Probably a scam! Was going to withdraw my money to move back to my old bank and then in proceeds my funds have been placed on hold coincidentally. Theft basically! I WILL NOT BE a person to just let this happen. Save your pathetic reply for my solicitors. I heard what they were up to, that’s why I was going to take my funds out on transfer. CEO has done a runner now too it would appear.

OMG!!!! Deposited through paypoint early morning around 7ish BUT still waiting for the money active I my account. I also paid fees on top up. Huh???? Saling with post-office topus founds available in few seconds. Monzo accounts for teenagers not for adults/professionals.

Two weeks ago, Monzo froze my Current Account. Since then, I've not been able to access any of the funds in my account. The Customer service team are not able to tell my why this happened, nor are they able to provide a timeline for when I will get access to my money again. I was considering switching my salary into Monzo - not anymore. Big banks may be slow and cumbersome, but at least they don't their freeze customer accounts without explanation

I only have one star so I can writhe the review. From recent experience I recommend you stay away from this online bank and go with the classics Barclays, Lloyd's etc. Customer service is horrible on chat you have to speak to 100 people if you have an issue and thru are still not capable of doing anything. If your card is stolen BEWARE you will get no refund on fraudulent tranzactions like most Banks will do. They will "SUSPECT" they are not authorised by a third party and if you have this as main account well you are pretty much "F*CKED"

They are thieves stay away from them. Randomly started having technical issues on the account whilst being abroad rang them up numerous times a day for 5 days all they said was lies the customer agent people are the worst they give empty promises and false hope they made up a new story every day it is not take 5 days to sort a technical issue they haven't even told me that my account is blocked or frozen they just want to take your money do not join them read hundreds of other reviews this is happening too many people around the world right now.

They freeze my account a day before Christmas without noticing it. As my money is block too, affecting my credit history and my direct debits going unpaid. They say it’s in review and will take time. It’s better to leave Monzo but can’t as my account is freeze. So they can freeze the account depends on whenever and how long they want. Really poor management and they have shortage of manpower. If you call them than it’s the fake message coming again and again. They don’t care about you and it’s completely waste of time.

No stars if I could. Haven't been able to transfer money from my fiances Monzo account to our joint account for over a week, multiple direct debits about to bounce. Multiple contacts, hours of waiting to speak to people, empty promises of it being resolved. DO NOT GIVE THESE PIRATES YOUR MONEY!!!!

a warning against joining monzo! and I had really hoped to not have to post this but ive got no choice now made me wrongfully go overdrawn and stole money coming into my account leaving me with nothing and a still overdrawn account despite the overdraw being the fault of monzo I was given nothing back and to clarify had to wait all day to be told there was nothing they can do im absolutley DISGUSTED dont join monzo seriously it isnt worth the ballache its a shame they used to be great

I can only speak for myself but I have had nothing but good experiences with Monzo. I have used the card abroad many times without incurring any fees, and the exchange rate has always been excellent. The app itself is easy-to-use and offers genuinely useful information (when you go abroad, it sums up how much you have spent in each country - great if you're travelling). But the thing that sets Monzo above the rest for me is the customer service - you can chat to an actual person via the app's helpline messenger in seconds, and every time I have spoken to someone they have been polite, informative and quick to take action where required. Much better than other traditional banks I have dealt with.
