I am very happy with their customer service. The staff are very helpful. Same day I visited different branch but they did not care about our problem.

Not suitable for Premier clients and large money transfers. The staff is yelling personal information across the hallway including transfer amounts. Extremely unprofessional. They do not know how to behave in a bank and how to work with Premier clients. Go and switch to HSBC Premier.

I've been with Barclays for the last few years and I had the best service at this branch today. Ms Rose Frimpong was not only outstandingly efficient and competent, but also had such a lovely personality! She literally made my day MUCH better. Thank you very much Rose!

Beyond impressed currently sitting here waiting 45min to do a large money transfer I wonder who bright idea it was to send all the bankers of at peak lunch hour now I remember why I don't bank much with Barclays

Reality is that this bank might as well be closed for good. I understand that we're in unprecedented times but shrinking opening times even more it's missing a point of keeping customers covid safe. If anything, bank should be open longer then was in pre-covid times. Some of the staff at this branch is actually nice but helpless. Others are quite arrogant and treat you like unnecessary inconvenience. On last three visits there was far more members of staff in the bank than actual customers. Maybe that's why staff doesn't wear uniforms - can't tell who is who. Service is painfully slow.

The worst branch. Massive building with no staff. Came during quite time to avoid the wait time. It took me 3 hours to get to speak with a person. Really bad!

Barclays is the worst bank ever. I made the mistake of signing up for a credit card with them 5 months ago. I liked that the card was interest free for 6 months. I had to charge some things for my wedding, so I decided to get a personal loan from my credit union to pay off the balance before interest accrues. I have now called Barclays 4 times for a payoff letter and they still have not provided me with the payoff letter. I even spoke with a supervisor twice!!! They keep saying that they can't email it even though they email statements, and they claimed that they mailed it and I still have not received it via mail. I have provided them with a fax number twice and had the representatives repeat the fax number back to me and when I called back the third time I was told that the complete fax number was not on file and that there was one digit missing and that therefore they could not fax it to me. I threatened to tell the Better Business Bureau and they still have not provided me with the letter. I then filed a complaint with the BBB, and saw that Barclays has an F rating from the BBB for failing to respond to complaints and for government action taken against them. I believe that the reason they will not provide me with the letter is so that I will not pay the balance before interest accrues.

The most "professional " and not compationate manager I have ever met in my life. He first tryed to highlite my error that I made.... He also introduced himself with no having his badge and no wearing a facemasc... As an NHS Critical Care nurse I was so dissapointed...!!! A good reason to change bank account immediately!!!!

5 stars for Ria who was extremely helpful and willingly to go extra mile to solve the problem for you. I really think the other staff in this bank can learn from her. She is one of the very few staff I have good thing to say with Barclays over 20 years banking with Barclays. Bad service and lack of knowledge were the reason I left this bank, unfortunately I had to deal with them again. On the phone, lady with strong Indian accent said "I can't find your closed bank details nor pull statements for you". After 5 minutes, they found it and saying they will send me my statements. Asking me to write a letter to Barclays HQ to request bank statement again. I did, never get anything. Go to this branch first time: asking for the same thing. The bank adviser did order it again for me, keep selling me different products, I said no, but booked me in mortgage and loan meetings. I got half of the statements I requested via post. Go to the branch second time: re-ordered it. Never came. Go to the branch third time: The lady who sit at reception (the table after you go up the stairs) had no listening skills and kept interrupt me. she said the bank can't help, saying I've closed both of my account. Well, I spoke on the phone and came to the branch twice, and I did get help of my statements, so yes, the bank CAN help. I've insisted to speak to someone. Ria was the adviser, I've told her what I need, she shown me what she can and allow to do, BUT she was willing to try other ways and I finally got what I need after 1 month and a half of hassle. 0 star for the bank, 5 star for Ria.

One of the female staff was extremely rude - Because she was upset I waved at her for attention. Then she went on to badmouth me very loudly with her colleagues. I guess she was stressed and needed to take it out on someone. When I raised this issue to the bank manager, he made me wait more than 30minutes and then called me in like a principal calling a naughty student to his office, then started defending his employee, almost implying that I was blaming her blindly. I think they forget banks run on customers being there and that they are providing a service. I want to switch banks...

I want to point out that the employees of this branch were all lovely (although they did essentially waste my time and my employers time during a full week). My review is directed at Barclays corporate policy. I recently arrived in the UK, I have an employment contract started beginning of February for 2 years. I wanted to open a Bank account to be able to receive my pay before the end of the month of February. This turned out to be impossible. My first try was a failure because my proof of address (an old bill with the name of my flatmate on it as I have just moved in and have nothing else. This was not enough. I was expecting this response, and I though it fair. Barclays stated they would accept a letter from my employer (a reputable institute in the UK) confirming my address. I brought back two days later said letter and was turned down again, as it was not an original. I was told if I came back again, with an original copy of the letter, they would be able to proceed with the opening of my bank account. I came back in the evening with the original copy of the letter, ready to finally start the procedures. I was turned down again. Apparently the letter needed to state that my employment was permanent. Essentially, Barclays was stating that either I asked my employers to lie and state that I was a permanent employee, or they could not open a Bank account with me. Barclays seems to believe that a customer who has a steady income for the next two years is not a suitable client. Barclays ideal client would be someone with an annual salary on a permanent contract. In what world does Barclay live that this is their only suitable candidate for opening a bank account? Do they not know that people sometimes change jobs, or find alternative jobs, or renew their contracts? Have they not been made aware of what the 2019 job market looks like? The only positive I will say about Barclays, is that they have an HSBC branch right across from it, where it was possible for me to open an account with the same documents Barclays had refused. I never write reviews but in this instance, I think it is worthwhile to do so. I am in a privileged situation in this case, and I still struggled with Barclays ridiculous requirements.

Yesterday, a Barclays Bank adviser informed to that I could take a seat as I would be seen shortly, by also stating that my driver’s licence would suffice to proceed with my request. After waiting half an hour (30 minutes) I was told by another representative that I would need my passport instead, despite explaining her, what the Adviser stated. The representative suggested to make an appointment for the next day, which the only available time was at 2.30pm. I agreed, was then sent a booking confirmation via text message. Today, I showed up at the bank at 2.20pm, was told by a representative to take a seat as she pointed out exactly where to take a seat. After waiting 40 minutes, decided to question why it's taking so long, only to find out that they had scrapped my name out of the list and the adviser that was supposed to assist me, decided to assist someone else instead. This sort of behaviour from Barclays Bank staff is appalling, in fact it’s an absolute disgrace. For others out there, I strongly suggest you, take your business to elsewhere (ie. Metro Bank) as they have a far better service which barclays can never, ever, match. Londoners have to work, we can’t waste time at banks with these sort of nonsense/behaviour, therefore, when we take time off while at work, please learn to honor it and don't waste our time.

I don't need to go to the bank often as most of the people these days. But when there is something urgent nothing goes well dealing with the people at this bank. Tottenham court branch is just horrible. The customer service team is horrible. 4 different people approach and I had to repeat my story that I actually need to talk to someone you could log into my account and fix it as it was completely blocked. As there was no staff and hundreds of people on Friday I walked 15 min to Holborn branch. The bank is small but has 3 people working at the most of the times. Avoid Barclays in general!!!!!!!

Bad service. I entered the bank and I said I want to open an account. The lady at the front desk say ok but you had to sit down and wait. However, other customers came in and she gave them the ticket. I knew myself and my boyfriend needed the ticket. So my boyfriend asked do we need the ticket. She said no. We waited for 2 hours, after 2 hours my boyfriend asked the gentlemen if I could open the account. He then transferred us to another lady. The lady asked for proof of address, and passport. I had everything ready. She said this letter is wrong. I said yes but you need the address. She asked me if I was studying I said no I work full time in order to book another appointment. Well she lost a customer. I walked into another bank. And asked the other bank if the letter is fine? He said it's perfect! Barclays have poor stuff and horrible service.. I feel that the people who works their was judging me. Well they lost a valuable customer! What a waste of my day. Wasted 2 hours for nothing. I had the right letter with address, and passport.

The branch to go to if you just need to use the machines. The agents are not helpful or willing to help. I showed up 30 minutes before closing and they didn’t feel they had enough time to help me with an address change.

The branch has the most unhelpful staff especially the Mr. Basant and The bank manager, i am a Barclays customer for 5 years. Went there to ask for some help certifying my id proof and address proof from bank manager. Wasn't allowed to see the bank manager. And told off that if its for barclays purpose only then they certify, if it was for Barclays purpose why would i need certified from them it becomes internal process.

(Seems I can't give no stars) I had an appointment booked for 12, for which I turned up and checked in at about 11.55. I then was left sitting until about 12.20 whilst I watched lots of staff walking around but seemingly not doing much. When I asked about my appointment and why the person who was supposed to be seeing me wasn't there, with a completely straight face the woman said 'He is here. He's on his lunch break.' She then suggested that it was my fault for not checking in when I arrived (though I had). The guy who finally served me was fine, but that woman shouldn't be in a customer-facing position.

I had £300 stolen from my account! I went into this branch and a lady by the name of Desiree(last name started with M) was so lovely to me. She could see how stresses out I was and took me to her office and really made sure I was OK, the branch was really bust and had so muh going on but besides all of this she could see I wasn't feeling really stressed! She helped me sort everything out and made me feel so much better ! She was amazing and Barclay's should be really happy to have such amazing staff like her

Tottenham Barclays branch Absolutely worse customer experience! Had an appointment at 10:30am and the person who is supposed to handle the appointment itself is NOT there!!!! Worse is, they won't even bother filling you with another advisor!! Ridiculous. Barclays need to sort their employees. I wasted more time waiting for my appointment to start than traveling to the branch!

On the inside and outside are the things you expect, it's a bank and it holds that title perfectly. It's quite empty so there's rarely ever a queue (which is always a good thing) to deposit or withdraw money. Clean place and friendly staff. No downsides.

The staff at this branch is incredibly rude, I just spent half an hour waiting for a bank transfer, which I ended up not even completing. I was talked to like I was a child. They will give you a token and then send you to the back of the building and basically forget about you. Barclays needs to stop hiring angry old women, and need to explain to the younger staff that they cannot patronise customers to such an extent since we make their job viable anyway. I would recommend going to any other branch but this one!

Never have i seen a branch so rude and incompetent. Staff are clearly untrained with no organisation skills. Furthermore, they're more interested in chatting amongst themselves than serving customers or communicating with core staff. Find another branch and save some headache if possible.

This branch has an excellent service and amazingly efficient staff. I was very disappointed though with the website info referring to the branch's opening hours. It is mentioned that the branch closes at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, although in reality the counter closes at 5 p.m. This information is misleading and causes great inconvenience to your customers.

Worst service. Went in for a simple counter deposit. The counter staff had a problem with the cash counter instead of explaining about the situation, left me waiting at the counter and was just rude and clearly not in the mood to work. If you can’t treat a customer nicely as a human being then don’t become a bank counter clerk!

10min wait, and then a 25min operation only to deposit 100 euros on a currency account! No wonder the queue for the counter is so long. Mind-boggling that a bank can be so inefficient in this day and age. To make matters worse, all of the staff are disengaged and surly.

What a humiliation! I had just moved to the UK and needed a bank account to receive my salary payments. My employer sent me there saying it should be easier to open a bank account, so -you know- I was hopeful. As it turned out, there's a first level of screening at the entrance, where they ask if you have all the needed documents etc., already they tried to send me away on account of not having gas/electricity bills on me (sure, I never separate myself from my utilities bills). Then they sent me upstairs for another 'interview'. A lady stands between you and the waiting line for the consultants and asks you questions. Upon learning that I was from one of those -ghastly- EU countries emitting paper IDs with picture, she started trying to send me out, first because of banking regulations, then because of their document scanning machine wouldn't take those IDs, then because of lack of verifiable UK address. She also wanted to see my driving licence with picture but didn't like that one either. I demanded to talk to the manager, so after a few minutes the manager came to the hall and stopped briefly to talk to me. Even though she acknowledged that they have business with my employer she refused to do anything about it unless she saw an e-passport or an electronic ID. I tried to explain that I can only one 1 ID at a time, and that if it was good for UK authorities to admit me into the country it should also be good for the simple business of a bank account but to no avail. I asked her to put the rejection in writing but she refused. In the end, the manager didn't want my business and suggested to go elsewhere for my bank account. I guess Brexit really got to their head. So if you are from the EU I recommend that you spare yourself the time and the humiliation and go look for a different bank right away.

I am speechless!!! Simply printing a bank transaction statement costs me more than 30 minutes but still I need to go somewhere else to do it. Going over the machine twice with different staffs which is a complete waste of time, they insist no matter how I explain that the machine doesn’t show the whole transaction and I need to do it over the counter. Then they showed me another branch which accordingly should be less populated and HAVE A COUNTER! I did my 10minutes walk and was told ohh, we don’t have a counter. hehe. No need to mention their tones.

Worst staff I ever dealt in 10 years in UK. A girl "welcomed" us ( me and my girlfriend) and when we said we needed to open an account she asked if we had all the documents. I said yes but there was only a mistake on my council taxes letter ( Ms instead of Mr ) , but I had other documents to prove that was a mistake ( like the tenancy contract for the same address), plus is quite evident I am a man! She told us we needed to wait for a long time before someone could serve us. We agreed. After 10 minutes ( long time!) she sat us in the office and started with the procedure, then she said she couldn't accept the letter I explained as soon as I arrived and that I couldn't open the account and we needed to come back with other documents. Fine ( well, not really...) . She proposed to book an appointment for the friday after at 5pm. It was so clear she didn't want to help us. So, we went back the friday after and another "kind" girl received us and with a "soft" way she asked what we wanted. We explained that her colleague ( that luckily was not around at that moment ) booked an appointment for us to open the bank account. Result: she didn't find any reservation ( she didn't really struggle to check it), no willingness at all to help us, no apologies, and a really rude attitude. I asked to talk to someone ( manager, or director) and she asked us only to send a complain through the website. We will open our account with another bank. And probably they will lose a client as my girlfriend is a Barclays client. Would be good if the director gets back on this, this is not a service you would expect

Once I sat down with an advisor service was good, but before that it was really disappointing. I called up at 9:45, got a 10:30 appointment the same day, but had to wait until almost 11:30 to be seen. There was no apology for the wait, and I was blamed for booking online (when I had called up). During my massive wait, no updates were provided on when my appointment would actually be.

The staff members kept me waiting while they were laughing and chit chatting to each other. After asking for a complaint sheet, we were not given one and we only received excuses, but no apologies. So unprofessional and rude!! I will be switching Banks after this, worst treatment ever. After waiting for a while they finally decided to call us and the woman behind the counter dared to laugh at me when I handed her the amount I wanted to deposit with her buddy. Will never come back here.
