If i could give 0 i would. A shame for Metrobank !!! Discrimination from the workers of this branch !!! This branch really disappointed me. I was appointed a meeting for the opening of a business account on August 24 and the guy was really nice. He helped me with everything and so i said i had to come back on Thursday 27. I came and started talking to a guy named Aziz. Everything ok. He told me , send me via email a document that shows that my name is related to the brand and we are good. So, at the end was fine. In the afternoon, out of the blue i receive an email saying that that have decided to not proceed my request for commercial reasons. I considered it a very low blow and got really angry . I wrote back for an explanation but they told me to write a letter to an address somewhere. So, to make my life even more busy. So, i wrote them that i would have written a review and go back to the branch because i really hate this. The fact that i do not have a proper answer. I do not care if they take me as a client but i consider this discrimination in the bases of how much money i have. Is a shame as far as we are in a critical historical point and the bank are the ones pointed from the government to help the businesses. A shame for Metrobank !!!

Everyone shouldn't go to this branch cause their staffs is too lame. They keep telling me they can't accept my bank account, which was already accepted by Lloyds. I can't understand. No matter it is a small bank I think. It would never get biggger if they keep hiring such a low level staff.

I never ever recommend this bank. I attended to open an account. I met lady was very nice and professional. She accepted my documents and asked for second proof of address. I returned home to bring it and came back. She referred me to her colleague called Tareque. He said he didn't accept the first one but accept the second. I said how if she checked it first and approved. This is why I went home to bring the second? He said did not argue? I was shocked how rude he is. I said I don't want to open anything. I need the manager. She came called Jassica. I told her the story. She said just sorry about that. She didn't take any action about him. And I don't understand how was alright then transfer to no. However, i am happy that I don't open account in this bank. Very boor customer services

Most amature experience I've ever had in a bank! Gossiping and flirting with each other while counting my cash!? What the hell do you get this kids from?? You've now lost a customer

No, no and no! Totally not recommended. I came today to count £6.02 in coins and exchange them to cash. A young woman runs to me and asks if I'm OK, like there's something wrong with me. I just wanted to deposit the coins but she started interrogating me, e.g. where the coins come from, did I come here before, all sorts of non-stop continuous questions and finally said that she allows me to do the coins today, but next time I need to open an account. She made me feeling like a thief and that I should not be there. I studied psychology and I know for a fact that this is an abusive behaviour. If I was a client, I would make a big issue of it. Happily, I'm not a client and will never be and I don't recommend this bank to anyone.

Rude and unhelpfull staff and Saturday management. They do not know anything about customer experience and it's third time now I waste my time coming to this branch when they are either out of money????? No coins in stock???? It is called a bank for what reason? Or because they change their policy without notifying that they are not able to issue any more change to their customers?????

Opened a joint account with Metro Bank as the waiting time for an appointment with other large banks was over a month to open such an account. We were able to just turn up with our documents and open the account on the same day, though it took me another week to be added to the account as my application had to go off to head office for some further checks. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is I had to chase their head office on status of application a couple of times, but I still got my card before I would have had an appointment with one of the main high street banks. Where they really excelled though was in their customer service in branch, as an example, we had been charged a refuelling cost from a rental car company when we had returned the tank full. The staff in the Tottenham Court Road branch were really helpful and able to go through the logs and prove that we had made a payment with our metro bank card at a service station 20min before returning the car. They were able to do all this and give me an interim statement of the transaction within 15min of entering the branch.

Tried making a payment to buy a property via Metro Bank contact centre but they were very difficult. Thought I’d head down to the branch to finish it. Didn’t even have to wait as I got seen straight away. Gentleman by the name of Emad took my name and found my business account. My solicitor was breathing down my neck for this but I was reassured that the payment would be done and I would get a call once the payment was successfully sent. Was just over half an hour when I had got a call back by the gentleman saying the payment has been made. This is what service is! The youthfulness in Metro Bank is brilliant. Who would think these young adults would be able to carry out transactions like these with such professionalism? Don’t phone the contact centre just visit the branch.

I went there to deposit 280£ as all coins and they said they cannot take it unless i use the coin machine. But the machine was broken and they didn't take it by hand as well like any other bank like HSBC, TSB and they turned me back. They told me to go to other nearest Metro bank. And when i went there the machines were broken too.

After visiting every bank in the area (which means all major ones), I finally decided to open my accounts here, as these were the only people who were actually polite and welcoming and banking conditions were quite good. Mind that contrary to other banks you won't need an appointment to open an account here, but during busy hours waiting time can be around 1h until you can start opening your account.

Went in to open a bank account ( went in early to avoid queues) and within one hour had a card in my hand and everything set up. They're strict about the documents they need, but otherwise relaxed and friendly.

It's a sweet bank but half the staff are nitwits and can't tell their left foot from their right hand. They have dog treats though. That's good.

Dreadful customer service by Metro Bank TCR this afternoon. Seated for half hour waiting for customer representative having been told “someone will be with you shortly”. On inquiring after 30mins how much longer I should expect to wait I was duly informed it would be a further 40minutes as everyone was busy and other colleagues were at lunch. Wholly unacceptable- at the very least have the decency to manage waiting customer expectations! During that time I witnessed 4 other branch customer service reps sitting behind the walk in desk and not very busy who were more keen on sharing jokes / banter with one another and the manager than managing waiting customers. Having been a client here for some time with a variety of products I suspect the novelty and trade mark youthful/ friendly approach of staff is wearing thin and customers are being taken for granted! Do so at your peril Metro. Customers can be equally as fickle. I will definitely not be going back! Pat.

If you're a new business owner avoid this bank. I waited over 6 working days to get a response that my rental agreement wasn't certified (whatever it means) They could perform initial verification much faster. Finally, I delivered everything they wanted but it wasn't what they expected. Again few days delay...

Went here to try to open an account with my partner. We was initially greeted by a woman immediately after entering the store and told to wait for a staff member to be available to help us, which was all fine. However, after the wait when we sat down to talk to a staff member about our enquiry, the man we spoke to was extremely rude and hostile towards us. He seemed in a horrible mood. It turned out I had misunderstood what kind of proof of address I needed to open an account, which is fair enough, but the staff member's aggressive, hostile and rude attitude towards us made us walk out of the bank as fast as we could. I have honestly never experienced anything like it, especially from a bank I am trying to give business to. There are too many other competitive banks in London to choose from to put up with that.

Just popped in to make a cash deposit as you normally do, but I was in need of a haircut.. All the barbers were booked out because it was 8PM and I needed to attend a party. Came across a young guy called Imad. Not only did he make my deposit for me; he also gave me a cheeky haircut so I can attend the party! You don’t need a salon all you need is a MetroBank and Imad. #BestBank!

Gave up trying to open an account after three tries. In a branch with at least 15 staff and only two customers, it really shouldn't take over 20 minutes to be seen. The smiles and cheeriness don't compensate for bad customer service.

We were ‘helped’ by Keval and Moses who took over an hour to open a safety deposit box because the one we reserved they had lost the key.... woeful customer service. Whilst performing the transaction Moses was chatting online to his colleagues whilst laughing whilst we sat on the other side of the desk waiting to receive any kind of update on our request. We are extremely disappointed with the service here.

I work nearby so I usually need to visit this Bank as I am one of their customer but since I opened account with Metro Bank, they've been getting bad and bad. This morning I went to change my address and guess what the cashier is talking and didn't even care if someone is waiting in the queue or not. Useless BANK, i'm going to either cancel my account or switch.

I arrived excited by their promise of a new way of banking. I knew from their website that it is not possible to book appointments. However, I was shocked to be told it would take 1 hour 40 to be seen and that this would take me past their closing time - which was over an hour away. I asked about filling in and leaving the forms but was told it would not be possible. I asked to complain, they said everyone else was happy to wait but that I could make a complaint as I waited. They did at least agree to guarantee to see me before they closed. But the forms to make the complaint have not been provided - thank god for the internet. Conclusion: if you need to change lots of coins and don't mind waiting perhaps this is the bank for you. If you don't have the time to wait over an hour to be seen and were just looking for a bank with good opening hours then you may well be disappointed.

Interesting to read people finding a 25 minute wait a long time, or even an hour. When I tried to open a business account with HSBC in my local branch it was going to take more than 5 weeks in total!! Also a long queue and then an appointment to come back a week later and then finally two weeks to wait for "approval". Much more protracted at other banks. Metro bank has been a revelation. I never need ID as they have photos on file- (why don't other banks do this?) and I can call customer services late at night and or course the branch is open 7 days a week and evenings. No other bank anywhere is this convenient and yes the staff are incredibly helpful

Seriousely,, stay away from this bank as they will freez ur acount for no reason. Even u a legit customer ur account will be flagged and frozen if u do even 2000£ transaction. Really not worth it. Chargers are rediculous and they wont even notify u after freezing the account

If I could give zero stars I would! Disgusting customer service by the manager Kogsor at the branch, even shouted at. So much for been a professional bank. Closed kids Bank account and my savers account and transferred Current account to Santander! You can not compare services by professionalism! But more interesting they do not want to give me nothing to confirm accounts have been closed REALLY?

Banking must have been the same in 1820. First of all information on the website is incomplete: "Proof of Address (1 or 2 depending on circumstances)"... why can't you put it like if you've been living in the UK for less than two years you need two? Ok I got two proofs, NI number confirmation letter and council tax bill. One says 3rd flat the other says 2nd floor. These are so huge differences that head office has to sign it off. OK, sign-off complete, I went back to a branch close to my workplace, they took all my data again just to let me know that I have to wait for another sign-off again, as branches do not share information between them... Now, really?

very poor customer service if they can't do something they resort to " we will call u back in the next 24hrs" which they never. And once u chase them up , they give you they branch phone number that no one ever picks up. They just keep you in circles each staff member contradicting other on the same product. so they keep refering u to each other

it should be no star at all, went to this branch after work as i leave far away, i was discouraged by a guy called ADEL ( not sure of the spelling) he was with another guy i think is on training. Getting there i was told they were busy if am willing to wait for an hour and half which i agreed to because i am desperate for a business account, he later asked if i had the right document i said yes, the manager later whispered to him , then he came back to say its a long wait, i asked him if there was a problem . very unprofessional, the silly manager or who ever was in charge that day was talking over my head seeing i was speaking to ADEl, very mannerless bunch , the trainee was laughing because there was a mistake with one of my documents. i ended up leaving.... Remember if you dont have customers you dont get paid. get some manners. this incident occurred 25/05/2016
