Very poor hiring process and Anastasia Liasi was very discriminating in her recruitment process. She will not write to me but will only call on private number to say I failed my test when all answers were correct. How can this be explained? She didn’t even send the SHL report although she said she would. Don’t waste your time with them.

Omg the Mortgage consultants are such a joke. Arrange a time to talk and then don't call or notify you. Really unprofessional!!! Plus, the questions for my mortgage are a total joke. Why are my hobbies and kids after school clubs got to do with anything? I'll be getting away from this joke bank as soon as my fixed term mortgage is up.

I had the worst experience at the Oxford branch of Metro Bank. I went in to open a student account, and they asked for all the documents. After providing the documents, they requested to see the student ID, I gave that to them, and even sent an email from my student email address for authentication purposes. I even opened my student account on my phone. After all these processes, they said I need to log in from their PC to my student account to confirm I am indeed a student, and if uncomfortable due to security measures, I need to bring in my laptop to log in. In summary I decided to not open the account, because the workers were so RUDE, and it became evident they were not seeking to open this account. The supervisor was called, and he simply echoed what the staff said, without seeking a creative way to help resolve the issue. Please this bank is the worst bank to deal with. It literally took less than 10mins to open a bank account at another bank across the street(which is more reputable than Metro Bank compared to over 40mins of account opening process at Metro Bank).

My in law has applied for current bank account. She'a been in the UK for more than 2 years, employed full time and her credit is very well yet she was declined a Current Account without being given the exact actual reason. Unless we're given an exact reason we assume it's based on her nationality which is illegal and you are in trouble. When trying to raise that over the phone we were asked to write to your office and there was no relevant e-mail to contact on your 'Contact us' page. It's 2020 and everything is done digitally now! Why is it that there is no direct contact with your Head office via e-mail stated in your 'Contact us' page? Are you trying to hide some dodgy business? Are you afraid of people like me or her having a solid proof of any correspondence with you? How can we be sure you're not going to pretend you haven't received any of our letters or lost them?! Are you afraid that we may be right in this case? Why doesn't your AI state the exact reason why the account was declined? How hard could it be to state the exact reason rather than stupid reasons like the photo may not be clear enough? How come your AI can't recognise people from photos and how come you solely rely on an AI with the capacity of a computer from 10 years ago while I still have to contact you using methods from the Victorian era? Why do we have to jump the hoops just to get that simple answer and how do you expect to have any clients with that dodgy system of yours?!!!

Customer Service is absolutely dire from Metro Bank and they have failed to come back to me on a number of occasions even when filing an official complaint. I have now had to take this up with the ombudsman as I feel that I do not have any backup from Metro Bank with my issues and are siding and supporting criminal activity and fraud which I have already backed up with evidence.

Can't speak highly enough of the staff in branch. Ian the business manager is amazing and he makes a good cup of tea!! They sorted out my problem with no fuss and Najwa was lovely as well, really helpful. Wouldn't go to any other bank now. Well done guys your amazing.

I wish there was an option for zero stars. This is the most useless bank on the high street. 2 weeks ago tried paying using my card and payment was declined, tried using the atm to withdraw but nothing. Surprisingly I could still access my account online but unable to transfer any funds from savings to current to pay my rent and bills. Called the bank just to be told my account had restrictions put on it (without notice, not even a text) due to payments received from my cousin in the U.K. proof of funds requested and I provided my cousin’s bank statements showing all credits made by him to my account. A week later after submitting proof, no positive outcome after numerous phone calls and no help from customer service nor a timeframe when this will be resolved. So I decided to go into branch because I couldn’t afford to go any longer without my money plus overdue bills just to be told after an hour wait while the cashier is slacking the department in charge and told me I needed to provide explanation why my cousin has been sending me money (which I did in my first email to them including proof which they claimed to not have received it initially, and I forwarded that again to the branch manager while at the branch). Reason was so they can justify if the money belongs to me (added to that, I did a counter deposit some weeks ago into my savings account from my wages). What an absolute joke of a bank. Now I am left with no money, unpaid bills, direct debits failing and dealing with lunatics who just sit in the call centres and make a joke out of people. Reading through the reviews online about metro especially, I am fully convinced this has something to do with people from specific countries being let off for absolutely no reason (de-risking). Let me off fine, but then release all the money that rightfully belongs to me. In a few days, if I don’t get my funds then I will be heading to their headquarters until I get my money back. Anyone looking for a bank of good faith, PLEASE AVOID METRO. Customer service is zero compared to other banks I’ve been dealing with. This is an honest review to shy one wondering if metro is a good bank because it IS NOT and should be avoided like a plague.

Simply the BEST I am nearly 53 so have been banking for many years, both personally and in a business capacity and without hesitation am able to say that my relationship team (Mark D, Gary M and Debbi A in MK) at Metro Bank, One Southampton Row, London are without a doubt the most professional, friendly and focused team i have met. They go way, way beyond what you would expect from a modern bank and are without a doubt the future of banking; other UK bank bosses should bow their heads in shame at how awful they have become. Well done Mr Hill, you have an incredible team here in England.

Very pleasant surprised that after an appeal to a credit limit increase, the managers were open to make a manual review, overriding the automatic one. All is well when ends well. I'll make sure next time to have base salary updated in the bank system, before starting anything.

Very unresponsive bank.they pot restriction on my account for 3 months now without any reason. And nobody can tell me when they going to take it off.only they said wait we will contact you.my direct debits was cancelled.i switched everything from my account to another account,it wasn't easy, to many phone calls. Anyway I'm not happy with this bank,as soon as they take restriction from my account I will close it for ever.

On Saturday I went to apply for a loan, they asked me to come back on Monday. I went today (Monday), waited for 45 minutes, and they told me that I should go ahead and apply for a loan in third bank. Staff - very rude. Branch in Swindon.

Stay Away from this Bank. Without notice or explanation they will freeze your account, blocking your access to your money for weeks. They discriminate against different people from different backgrounds. Customer of 4 years, they handle our hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of turn over each year, and the awful stupid tycoon managers in this bank don't let you have access to your own money for weeks so far at least. Avoidddddd

Generally find them ok. Not my main bank, just a spare account. Staff are helpful, and direct you to what you need. They offer you a tea or coffee if you want, and have toilets. They have a coin counting machine, which can play up. Only thing is you then have to go to the counter to pay it in or get the cash. They are opening more branches or stores as they call them.

OK right, I thought the first 3 ratings looked a bit like they had been written by employees or something! I went into this (Holborn) branch, and was asked my name by Kallai and had a free black coffee. This chap took my documents and made sure I was comfortable. About 10 minutes later, I was taken to a desk where I had a nice chat before anything! Not rushed and I felt appreciated. I was offered either a current or cash account, I accepted a cash one and 5 minutes later I had my card, account number, online banking number and all my PIN and online banking passwords set up. I am now a 'Metro Banker' and enjoying the simple straight forward banking that is offered, even though I don't even live in London.

AVOID THIS BANK!!! (There should be an option for NO STARS!) If you have money paid into your account be prepared to GO THROUGH HELL!!! I received a loan from my close friend and the bank suspended my account without any explanation! I have to do all the running around asking why and providing proof showing the source of this money and what I plan to use it for? I have provided all requested documents and am still in the dark waiting for them to investigate! What is there to investigate when they have all documents showing clearly all that was requested! I am SO ANGRY AND TRULY DISAPPOINTED, I have a family relying on this money but the bank have no compassion or consideration. I will go to every source to help with this, I have done nothing wrong and am being investigated like a criminal would be! BE WARNED PEOPLE, you will be left with NO HELP OR CARE FROM THIS BANK. Also the manager at Holburn (Charlie) is the worst manager I have ever come across!

visited this branch at lunch time to deposit some money into my account .bank was busy as you would expect at a Friday lunch time . staff was just hanging around not being very helpful when I was seen I was absolutely horrified when the cashier named Aaliyah held up the 20 pound I gave her to scrutinise it how disgusting to do that in public I felt heavily embarrassed and may even close my account. Surely a bank has a machine were cashiers do this discreetly appalling absolutely appalling !

I went at 2pm, was told there was a 2 hour wait but to come back in the evening when it was quieter. I returned at 7pm, was told there was still a 2 hour wait. The customer service man boasted that this was a 'walk in' bank, and so they don't take appointments, which is rather pointless if they don't hire enough staff to see people who walk in. Who has 2-3 hours free to spend at a bank.

Very Poor Service. I was opening new business account. The guy did not responded to email. I sent another email and still there no response even after 3 days. When i called the branch number no one answered the phone. I tried few different times of the day and still no answer. I then called customer service and they said even they cannot contact branch as it is a busiest branch in london. I left message to call back. But still no one called me back. Finally i just asked them to cancel the application. So this bank is same as any other high street bank. Will never recommend to anyone... At least Holborn branch.

Did business banking with these so called professionals for three years. Absolutely useless. Sold my business and they refuse to send my closing statement to my home address which they have on file and they say they can only send it to the business address which is occupied by someone else now. I can’t even check it online as they closed my online banking before the final statement was released. Nine months on I still no final statement. USE THE BIGGER LONG STANDING BANKS

The most unprofessional behibour I’ve seen in my life. I’ve choosen to open a bank account with metrobank because they’re open 7 days a week and they print the cards at the office, we’ll this doesn’t matter if you have to spend over 5 hours in total to DO NOT OPEN A CURRENT BANK ACCOUNT. They have every single possible issue for it, first the address wasn’t correct, then apparently the paper weren’t signed and then... they weren’t even able to explain why. After 5 people trying to fix the problem including the manager in shift (31 August) there was no conclusive answer and we leave without an account. In the meantime the manager left for a break after not trying to help. Lesson, don’t try to open a bank account in Metrobank if you don’t want to waste your time.

Despite several phone calls and emails, I have still not been able to withdraw cash from my account, I have been scammed and yet nobody cares that MY LEGALLY EARNED WAGES are being held hostage by your bank, how can I give you what you are asking for if I have no way of getting it, what you are doing is illegal and morally and ethically corrupt, these are my LEGALLY EARNED WAGES from B&M that you are preventing me from accessing, I have now had to resort to using a food bank and am unable to pay my electric bill and water bill, I realise that in the grand scheme of things I may not be important enough to your bank as I don't have millions invested in you, but what you are doing by holding my LEGALLY EARNED WAGES from B &M is WRONG or do you only care about getting richer off the backs of poorer people ? The only customer-service focused bank in England. Example: I went in to Barclays asking them to print some statements for me. They told me it would cost £5, would take a week to be delivered because of 'UK banking rules and regulations'. I went into Metro and asked the same thing, and they printed some out for me in seconds.

After waiting for an eternity to open my account they just gave me a card (no contract or any information). Upon asking how to register online I got a number and password that don't work. When calling to sort it out I am sent again to the branch as if my time is worth nothing. I hate this bank already. You can contact them 24 hours, right? They have people answering the phone and saying there is nothing they can do for you and that you need to spend time and money going to one of the stores. They handle banking differently, right? If you think a couple of dog treats are consolation for a bank treating you, your money and your time like crap, then yes, they give you dog treats and that is different.

Had a horrible experience using this banks ATM while on vacation. I tried to withdraw cash and it said "transaction unable to process", it gave me no cash and still took the money out of my account. I disputed it with my bank, and they tried to take the money again after it had been sorted. Very poor experience, if I could give a 0 star rating I would.
