The Amherst Road Branch Manager (a large black woman who claims her name is Wumi but refuses to present any name tag as id) must be the most rude and aggressive branch manager I have ever encountered. From seeing her interaction with other customers while I was waiting, plus reading other reviews, I can see that her behavior was not personal to me, yet nothing seems to have been done despite her obviously continuing in this manner for years. The customer service is abysmal and I definitely could not recommend anybody visiting should you have ANY other option and/or objection to being talked down to by an overly aggressive woman.

I joined as a teenager and I wish I had joined Halifax or something. This branch is ridiculous. The bank is ridiculous. I ordered a jacket and then they blocked my card for fraud. Yes for the fraudulent activity of buying one jacket in winter time. Then I went to the branch to be told to wait in the wrong queue, waited then had to queue again. Very poor bank and branch.

Queued for half an hour outside waiting to pay in a couple of cheques. Once I was inside the paying in machine didn't work. There was a line of about 15 people queuing inside the branch (which must have been a melting pot for covid) for the one cashier who was working. Total waste of time.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. Horrible service, inefficient and long waiting times. I went there twice to drop off documents to open a child savings account. Twice because I was asked to bring the wrong documents the first time. Chasing you Natwest for 6 weeks re an account that should have been opened after 48 hours of receiving the documents. I was then asked to go back a third time with same documents! Simply awful and a massive waste of time. In the process of closing my accounts with them; strongly recommend you avoid at all costs unless you like wasting hours of your precious time and horrible, inefficient service!!

NatWest should investigate what's going on in this branch. I had the very unpleasant experience of having to deal with the "branch manager" a middle age woman with a very charming passive-aggressive attitude. Not sure why NatWest hasn't done anything to address the problem, this branch has 1.5 start out of 5, clearly something wrong is going on here. After my encounter with that woman, I decided to close my NatWest account and switch to HSBC instead. She literally cost NatWest a missed mortgage with a potential customer, well done! - EDIT - raised a formal complaint with NatCorp, waiting to hear from them.

I went to open a bank account as I needed a second one. The manager very abruptly told me I could not open a bank account without closing or switching over my current one (with Barclays), as I did not have an “acceptable” reason for needed a second bank account. I don’t see why my reasons are any of her business? Went down the road to HSBC who let me open an account immediately, no questions asked.

What an awful bank. I tried to help my partner open a current account / switch his account. Made an appointment. They were running late. We were waiting about 45 mins after our appointment time. A member of staff finally came out no apology for the delay and advised that it was not possible to switch accounts in the bank. Then why let people make appointments in the bank and waste their time? We then tried to open a joint account. We tried to do this online as per the suggestion. We received the paper work requesting that we submit extra docs online or in branch. We went to do this in branch. We were told that you cannot open a savings account without a current account. They then suggested we make another appointment for next month to start this whole painful procedure again. More of our time wasted. It was not stated on the application or details when opening the account that this was a requirement. Nor on the letter either. After 16 years of banking with Natwest I will be closing my accounts and banking elsewhere. They do not seem to want customers. Simply beyond horrible.

Massive ques with only 2 cashiers, 2 customer service assistants seem to be chatting to each other rather than assisting? Cashed a cheque in and once the cheque had cleared, I went to withdraw the cash only to be told it hadn’t been cleared. I then informed them that the money is showing as available on my account. Cashier became confused and then said yes it’s available in your account but you can’t withdraw it yet. Called customer service later who informed me that isn’t the case and the money is cleared and available for me to withdraw immediately. Waited the good part of an hour to be told I can’t withdraw the money in my account even though I clearly could. This branch is a shambles.

Appalling service here. Huge queues during busy lunchtime, and only one cashier serving. Advisor was 20 minutes late for my meeting, and had obviously forgotten about it. Was walking out of the door as I accosted her and she was still fitting her badge as our meeting started. The advice I was given was incorrect, but luckily I read the correct info from her screen. I was promised to be called back with an update, which never happened. Chased, and still no call. I have banked with Natwest for 15 years and have never had such bad service from a branch.

Does what a bank supposed to do and on my experiences visiting the bank, I've always been greeted by friendly staff who are always willing to assist you if you need help. Excellent customer service from this bank and as far as queues go you get queues in any bank you go in. Natwest branches are equipped with the latest banking machines to deal with your everyday banking needs and are easy enough to operate, so most of the time there is no need to be in a queue!

This branch of NatWest is HORRENDOUS. Today I walked out again after failing to deposit cash. Why? Because there was an enormous queue and all 3 deposit machines were out of order. What's ironic is that it never changes. For the past 4 years the quality of service at this branch has been rock bottom, with no signs of improvement. And no amount of complaining or feedback makes a difference - every visit is awful, with very slow tellers, long queues and malfunctioning equipment. As NatWest keeps dying a slow death, and I shall be closing my account soon, I hope this branch gets axed in the process.

Claire and another blond lady providing good customer service, the short Indian lady is amazing, but two young ladies are serving horrible, one is Miriam Adekunle, her attitude is so bad. She looks like she hate her job, doing everything very slow, she is not polite, I would say rude. Why you hired her? She makes customer feels like "oh I am sorry I came to bank; because of me you have to work". That's not any customer service, she is changing her mind, and is rude!!!! I can't remember another lady name, but definitely I don't want be served by Miriam anymore! Never again! Good luck!

It's easier to open an offshore account in dubai than opening a basic account here. After 3 visit to the bank (each time I've been given uncomplete informations and needed to come back with some different documents) I'll finally have the privilege of a new bank account. I will switch to another bank as soon as I can. Well, hopefully that one is just an online procedure!!

Bank manager lack legal understanding concerning documentation for transacting bank business. My 14year old was told that because her first names, as written on her British birth certificate ( Joe, Abi) does not appear in the same sequence on her British passport (Abi, Joe). For this reason she can't open an account. But other banks laugh at this and open an acct for her.
