I’ve bought 3 pairs of glasses from here and i like the store but i have a real issue with the staff who were here 2012-2015.... they’re crooks.... they tried to put cheap lenses into one set of frames i bought from them (i had to complain to get them changed) and the paint has come off the other pair of Gotti frames they hard-selled me when i was in the shop.... i have a real issue with these guys. They seem self-managed so theres noone to complain to, but be warned before you buy here

I am very happy with my new glasses from Iris. Staff provided useful advice on choosing a frame for quite strong prescription lenses, and the price for the thinnest lenses was very good - based on previous purchases with other opticians I was expecting double the price! Frame was ready within 3 days. Friendly and professional, would definitely recommend!

Utterly useless and snooty staff. Went in looking for a £250-£300 pair of glasses. Left 40 mins later with nothing. Zero help in a completely empty store apart from two staff members. It’s no wonder these places are closing down and everything has moved online...

I was there this morning, having travelled an hour to get to you. Perhaps this will jog their memory?
me - gosh you're quite difficult to find! (there are roadworks outside blocking the entrance, signage not easily visible)
attendant 1 - (snorts). And what are we looking for today?
me - Anglo American please. I reached out the the manufacturer and they suggested that I come here as there aren't many stockists in London.
attendant 1 - (waves at a row of glasses) what we have are there. (goes and sits down)
30 minutes pass. A courier comes to the door. Attendant 2 gets up to sign, while avoiding eye contact with me. I try on maybe 20 frames. I try again to make eye contact with staff. They chat about allergies and ginger.
Eventually I walk out, deafening silence all round.
I guess I don't fit the profile of the customer you're looking for! It's fine - I know what I want now, and it's available elsewhere.

I happen to live close to one of their shops and have used their services for several years. I have not shopped with them on-line.
The service and value for money are exceptional. There is a great range of frames and lenses. The staff are remarkably friendly and helpful.
A recent visit was to get a replacement frame for one I had broken and re-use the existing lenses. All done in about 10 minutes.

Great service. This shop has competitive prices for lens prices and you get the lenses the next day. In my case I only ordered lenses from them, initially had an incorrect prescription (was done somewhere else). They didn't charge me for the lenses made on that prescription, I then got my eyes re checked to get a correct prescription and got it next day. Very professional, fast service and good price.

Summary: Aggressive salesmen not serving your interest. May do a good job is the customer doesn’t mind what (s)he buys, but if you’re a conscious customer, think twice.
Visited the optician twice, both times came away feeling they weren’t telling the truth. First he tried convincing me that a specific lens was brand new on the market even though as per google review it was evident that the type of lens was on the market for a number of years. This Didn’t really bother me though it carried a sales message as I was initially pushing back on the specific manufacturer which he tried managing with this script - but I did came away without making a purchase thinking I should do some more research as they did not the lenses of a specific manufacturer I was looking for. Having done my research on the manufacturers whose products they sell I found a blue light filter lens from Zeiss that they are supposed to sell. I went back to order that the blue light filter coating - they don’t sell it. The shop assistant tried to convince me that the other coating that they do sell also has the same blue light filter function. It’s not in the manufacturer’s materials- in his thinking because in that event nobody would buy the other coatings... he called (?) the manufacturer who “confirmed” to him that blue light filter was on all if their lenses; but they only disclose that to opticians. There were other interesting comments made - e.g. he thinks that blue hue on blue light filter lenses is an acient tech so I should buy one from him without the blue hue; even though Hoya/ Esssilor/ Zeiss all have this on real blue light filter coatings - that’s how engineering works. Anyway, I came away - called the manufacturer (interestingly it took me much longer to get connected) who confirmed that the type of lens he was trying to SELL me does not have a blue light filter function.
The problem with this is that they are not selling flip flops but prescription lenses which carries higher stake for the buyer. I can imagine that they do a good job if the customer doesn’t mind what (s)he buys, but if you’re a conscious customer, think twice.

After previously buying glasses at the Design Museum store I was really happy to find this one I could walk to from work in my lunch hour. As before, an excellent range and very helpful assistant who suggested some great frames. It took a week to get the glasses, so couldn't recommend highly enough. Price is good as well.

One of the best opticians I've been to. Helpful and friendly staff, great selection of frames. When I went in to choose my frames I wasn't rushed or pressured, but left to my own devices and offered the occasional suggestion and advice. They email you your prescription straight after your eye test which is a nice touch. It only took 6 days between ordering my glasses and receiving them. Would definitely come here again.

I've bought two pairs of glasses from Iris, plus had a reglaze and an eye test there. The service is so much more personal than the high-street chain alternatives and the choice of frames is great. Got a rimless reglaze here, basically ruined the glasses. Not straight, loose, unable to tighten as bolts too long. Lost original locking nuts too. Very poor work indeed. Avoid. In response to the businesses comment: I returned twice to get the work rectified, but will have to go elsewhere to get a proper job done. The basic issue is that the lenses have not been cut equally, so they will never sit true. When I say 'ruined' I mean they are unwearable - which is a key requirement for glasses, I think.

Great! I found this shop online looking at those reviews and I'm very happy to say they deserve them! They are amazing. The guys was very nice and kind, they helped me straight away in a very nice and not intrusive manner, they gave me some advices in order to choose my new spectacles and without pushing me at all but in a very polite way. They have a great selection of very nice frames, with a lot of elegant and glamour frames. I did also an eye test and the doctor has been very kind and polite as well. I'm honestly very pleased and satisfied of the service that i received and the spectacles that i bought there!
