Amazing service by the manager and team. I bought a pair of glasses for £70 before the lockdown but I was having trouble with them and I was offered a replacement after I discussed my issues with them. The staff are very friendly and curteous - this would definitely be my Specsavers of choice in the future.

Amazing service, polite, helpful and efficient. I came to London for the weekend to see a play, and of course I forgot my glasses, booked an appointment there in the evening and by the next morning g I had my prescription waiting for me, I explained the situation and they were so helpful and nice....I couldn't be happier with the service, thanks so much to the team there, I can now enjoy the show and actually see everything. :D

Happy with the Optometrist - Anjali. But disappointed with the facilities. Very cramped and not very comfortable nor practical. I know rent is expensive on the Strand but... A bit more space would be good.

Booked an eye test here and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The test itself was good value and the price is refunded if you buy glasses - which are often buy 2 for the price of one anyway. So would definitely recommend.

Poor service and hygiene, just seem to want to take money from you. I came here because it was close to my work place but after this experience I wouldn’t come again. When I went in to get my eyes checked, not one person wiped any of the equipment that they asked me to put my face in which is so gross. One of the guys took my glasses in to screen my prescription, and having made a comment that my powers were strong, then proceeded to ask me “so what do you use your glasses for?” like the strength of my powers weren’t self explanatory. When he was screening my eyes (the process where you look at the hot air balloon), again, he didn’t wipe the chin rest or where the machine aligns with my nose, and didn’t warn me before the machine was going to blow air in my eye, and also it only blowed air in one eye and not both? Absolutely appalling service, would not come here again.

Went in for a free eye-test, previously booked online. I had had an eye-test done by Vision Express just a few weeks earlier, and the differences were dramatic: -- Specsavers has much more modern equipment, -- Specsavers cleaned the equipment in front of me, before I touched it, -- Specsavers gave me my prescription details afterwards, without me having to ask for it, -- Specsavers did not try the "hard sell", and were quite happy for me to leave without buying anyhting, (I wanted to and go away to think about whether I wanted bifocals or varifocals). All in all, a MUCH better experience than Vision Express!

Booked an eye test online, received prompt call back from the store - in contrast to some other reviews below. I also needed to notify the store on the day that I would be slightly late for my appointment, had no trouble getting an answer on the phone, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. Optician was excellent, although admittedly I have no point of reference this being my first eye test. Very informative with clear and concise explanations of the tests undertaken and my results. Did not require purchase of glasses, so cannot speak to sales experience.

The customer service was excellent - I was very impressed. The staff were very polite and attentive. I could only afford the cheapest glasses, and I had a voucher for a free eye test, but I didn't feel in any way treated differently because of that. There was no pressure to go for more expensive glasses.

Well the much awaited revamp has happened. It hasn't obviously increased stock capacity but the layout seems much improved. The displays are clearly priced from £25 upwards to £165, frame plus different types of lenses too and the lighting above the racks is kinder on the eye and the complexion ! There's a tablet desk near the entrance so you can check out the website to order in a colour choice or use the ' how would l look in these frames' facility. For those of us who are very myopic this is invaluable. You no longer have to ask strangers in store what they think or press yourself up to the mirror and squint at your reflection. Staff won't let you select an unsuitable frame for your prescription or an unflattering one. The aftercare is brilliant too. No matter what kind of clutzy things you subject your new glasses to, they're ready willing and able to put them to rights, which makes the initial heavy financial outlay on new specs feel less painful. Never be frightened either to delay your choice by writing down style reference numbers you like, then checking them on line later to help you decide. Don't buy under pressure. Ask about donating your old frames to a charity too.The cleaning and adjustment machine is now just beside the till so getting a quick spruce really easy.

Originally gave this store poor review about 2 years ago. Changed my mind completely. New team, or management maybe? Staff are friendly, cheerful and professional. Helpful and extremely conscious in following social distancing and using hand sanitiser, wearing masks etc. Give great advice and they they do the 3D scan for extra £10 which show any slight changes/abnormalities straight away, which gives me one less thing to worry about!

I've worked at and been to many opticians. However this was the first store I've ever been to which has decided to charge to replace broken nosepads. Top tip for any customer walk one minute down the road to Boots Opticians and they do if for no charge and have a smile on their faces .

Visited the specsavers on the strand 2 times in the last month for the same issue. Made me wait 30 mins post my appointment time, it’s frustrating when it’s a place near work and the waiting time was not told when I first come in. People usually come during lunchtimes. Understand there is a first come first serve basis for people with a emergency coming through but there should be more staff to cover last minute issues. Staff needs to be more reassuring on the waiting time when you come in the first time. Any other specsavers I’ve been too are much more efficient and on time.

Whilst the opticians as very professional and some of the front end staff are can't say that for all the front end customer services staff. Unfortunately you have to get past them to get to the optician. After I needed a copy of my prescription I went in to the store and whilst waiting at the counter I was completely ignored, not even a 'are you being helped?' by one of the members of staff. I then waited and was eventually seen. I asked for my prescription and was told these can only be printed by the opticians and that they would take a note and call me back by the end of the day. The end of the day came and I called twice, and left messages, I didn't get a reply from either. I went back in to the store and asked for it again, I then waited until a optician was free and I could get a copy. My visits to the store were during my lunch hours and this is valuable to me, so haven't to take up more of it then I needed to is quite disappointing. Whilst the overall service wasn't great, I particular didn't like the lack service provided by one member of staff who ought to be informed of how customer services works (most of my youth was working in various retail outlets). I won't name the staff or in fact the gender, but if you go in to the store you will soon realize.

I would not recommend it to anyone I didn't at least mildly dislike. I had to come in 5 times just to get the same lenses I have been wearing for years, they failed to call me when they came in, didn't give me all the information I needed on several occasions, and some members of the office staff were remarkably unfriendly. I switched between the two docs each time I went in which was bad for continuity. Overall, not the worst thing ever and I did EVENTUALLY get the lenses (over a month after I started) but I definitely won't be going back.
