Running 5/7 mins late for appointment so I ring to say I’m running late but no answer. Eventually when I get through they say if you’re 5 mins or more late we will see if optician can still see you. Okay fine with that. Great! I’m 7 mins late when I enter islington branch, wait around - but no acknowledgement from the 3 staff sitting there for ‘collections’. There are zero customers in there apart from 2 sitting presumably ‘collecting’. One of the staff is free but still no acknowledgement from her. Finally she calls me over - stares at the screen for about 2 mins and then asks my name. Says ‘collections is separate from the optician so’... right and?? she taps a few keys and another 2 mins later says ‘we will book you another appt then’ Course I’m probably 15/20 mins late by now. Talk about sluggish staff and 3 of them!! Blimey! Totally charmless...

Went yesterday for an eye test and order prescription glasses accordingly. However, I did not buy frames from Specsavers but I brought my own. Because of that, I got charged extra £39! Why is that?? Can messrs explain the “punishment” i got for not buying frames from them? Can messrs Specsavers justify under which law or regulation are entitled to charge a client an extra £39? When I booked the appointment in person at the shop, nobody told me than if i got my own frames i would need to pay an additional fee! I paid all i had to pY PMUS an additional fee which is completely unjustifiable! If I knew, I would not proceed. Can somebody explain the legality of this extra charge? Can somebody explain why they do not let clients know in advance? Thank you.

A very happy customer of 6 years here! The staff here is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, it's always a great experience ???? There is also a large selection of frames, and I found it reliably easy to book appointments. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!

I've been to this branch three times. I had a great experience the first time. The second time two different staff members were lacking in customer service skills and left me feeling like I didn't want to have an eye test there. I left without one and won't be going back

It is the first time I used this branch and the service and customer care were great. Compared to other competitors I didn’t feel the pressure to buy and the employee who assisted me even suggested a lower spec of lenses for my glasses because in his position were fine and I can say he was right! Despite all the limitations due to covid 19 the service was excellent. Also all staff were PPE and they are very organised. I will definitely come back for my sunglasses!

Had my eyes tested here by some wonderful people cannot praise them given the difficult situation that have now find themselves after the pandemic. Excellent compliance with directives on the covid-19 regulations and it's done in an extremely efficient and professional manner. Enjoyed my experience of this specsavers and highly recommend this opticians to anyone.

No Covid 19 protection whatsoever in this place. No PPE protection of the public be it with their equipment or seating. No NHS app location sign in. We did not feel safe whatsoever. Avoid at all cost

The service in this branch seems rushed and impersonal. Regardless of the appointment time I have never yet been seen on time. There are at least 20min delays. I had an appointment for both eye sight and contact lens check, however they were short staffed and unavailable to carry out both so I had to make an appointment to come to the store again.Nobody let me know prior to the appointment about the situation. Considering the pandemic, I would have thought that they would rather avoid frequent visit to the store. When I was collecting my new glasses I had no proper checks and they didn't ensure they fitted well.

Don't visit this store! Terrible service on two counts: firstly I was given glasses with a completely wrong prescription which really hurt my eyes and only because I went back and challenged the optician did they give me glasses with the correct prescription; secondly they promised me I could redeem my employer's discount voucher after the purchase but I have just been back and been declined any discount due to this not being possible through 'system limitations'. Incredibly frustrating and extremely poor customer service - STAY AWAY!

I had the most amazing experience at Specsavers Islington the other day. Due to an unfortunate accident my glasses had broken, and I needed a replacement immediately. I called 5 different opticians, and non were able to help me, except for this store. Got there at 13:00, was attended by an incredibly helpful and smiling Greek young lady called Constantina I think, who helped me choose a frame, ran up to check timings with the technician and I had my pair of glasses just 4 hours later. Amazing staff, amazing service, amazing speed, and ver very reasonable price. Thanks!

I came into the store for an eye test and I was rudely spoken to by a lady and her badge name had said something along the lines of "Ullah?" and the lady accommodated me and spoke so LOUDLY and RUDELY she asked my about my date of birth and name so loud that probably the whole store could hear my personal details she then took me into a room to do other checks on my eyes and when I tell you the room is so small and all I could her was a parrot nagging in my earhole. thank god the process lasted 10 minutes. I then had an eye test with a really really good optician she looked into my eyes so thoroughly took a little longer but she was so lovely. unfortunately after my eye test was done the same lady returned and attempted to help me choose frames but I couldn't deal with such BOLD person so I left and got my glasses from Boots Opticians just down the road with amazing offers.

Fabulous staff who went out of their way to accommodate me. Swift and organised professional staff, who are a credit to the company and profession. Please expect to wait a sort while sometimes as staff don’t know exactly what they may find when checking our eye condition and it may take longer than anticipated. I can assure you that you will be thoroughly tested when it is your turn. very thorough. Thank you Specsavers for my adult eye test, contact lens test etcetera.

Having used a non chain opticians for many years its a slight culture shock using Specsavers. Plenty of friendly staff, mostly younger in their 20s, who are happy to help when they notice you - 3 of us using the store today and 2 booked in and dealt with quickly while 3rd couldn't be booked in as arrived too early wasn't asked if they needed help for quite some time. But once in the system staff very helpful and professional. Store is wheelchair accessible, but as store isn't very big there's not much room to move in store in your wheelchair. Waiting area for optician has plenty if chairs but is narrowed by them if you need to get past in your wheelchair, someone had to move out of our way when we came by with our wheelchair. Examination room we used was fairly small too if you're in a wheelchair, with little room to manoeuvre your chair into position for you to reach the eye test machine.

Mistakes can happen but a breach of my privacy is unacceptable." Staff member took home my daughters prescription and does not work for spectators since last year has my daughter paperwork/prescription. How unprofessional. I am.upset that this is not dealt with by management. What do you they need my personal details in their home. .."How do staff take home peoples personal details with out consent?". 2 weeks of visiting and promised calls now still not addressed. No answers or accountability. Poor standard of care.

Some of the staff there do not have the customer's best interests at all!!! They literally forced me into buying the anti-glare version of the glasses, every time I tried to argue against it, saying that as a student it was expensive for me, one of the ladies started giving me whole host of reasons as to why it would be good for me as a student unnecessarily. I couldn't make her stop. It turns out once I agreed to buy it and was picking them up a few days later, these expensive glasses didn't take into account my astagmitism -which she didn't tell me beforehand- essentially gave me an unfair description of the glasses. I didn't have the time to change them or return then, as I was moving away. The same lady refused to talk to another customer, saying 'yeah she isn't going to buy anything anyway!' in front of me. Another young optician, in my examination told me that my eye's outer layer was damaged and the spots on my eyelid would need to be taken out via surgical procedures as they were calcium deposits. The spots went away by themselves but he just scared the hell out of me :(

Had a free eye test booked for the 16th July. Arrived right on time and got greeted and attended to as soon as I arrived. Very pleasant start. No forced sale, instructive and relevant advices, with some humor to sweeten it all. After that all the tests were very thorough and the specialists nice and professional. Felt in very good hands :) Too bad I forgot all their names... Unfortunately, after spending more than an hour in the place, I didn't have time to stay to choose some glasses (recommended after the tests) and decided I'd to come back another day. Big mistake! So popped again on the 18th at lunch time with a friend and got greeted straight away by a commercial (tall, lean, glass wearing black descendant. Suit, clean cut and all). At first, he was nice, asking how it felt to have my first prescription :) I said I had noticed some frame online (£25 ones) and he went to check if the color I wanted was available. He informed me it wasn't. I thanked him and as I turned around to look at other models, don't ask me how and why he was off to greet another client. Fair enough not to leave any client ungreeted but he actually stayed with him, looking at frames, advising on styles, guiding him etc... I was forgotten. Good thing my friend was with me, but we both wondered the whole time if he was actually going to remember I was there and "waiting" for his professional insight (no pun intended) After 30 min, I set my mind on frames and now had to queue at the front desk since other peole had arrived. When my turn came, a nice lady said I had to wait for the commercial to be available (his fav client had just finished choosing his glasses and they were on their way to a desk to complete the whole process). That wasn't going to only be a 5min wait for sure...Definitely didn't have time after more than 40 min there, decided that was just off putting and that I would chose another Specsavers to buy my glasses. Actually briefly told the lady of my disappointment and why I wasn't going to wait. She obviously apologised. A shame for the Islington branch that with a split second decision some individuals would ruin the great exerience provided by the rest of the staff... Went to my local Specsavers, picked frames I love, and off to leave them a great reviewr!

Specsavers Chapel Market, London, N1. If I could give a half star for this store, I would. They phoned me the day before to confirm my appointment, and sent me a text to remind me of my appointment which stated that I'm to arrive 10 minutes before, for pre eye site checks. I arrived at 08:50 for a 9 O'clock appointment to be told very rudely to stand outside until they open at 9. I showed them the text I'd received and was told angrily to wait outside until 9. As they were still not open by 09:05. I left and went elsewhere. Haven't had anyone phone back to ask why I hadn't attended the eye test.

Had a fantastic eye test. The optician even spotted a mark on my retina and insisted I go to GP. Fortunately it's only a freckle. But obviously appreciate it's been detected as it needs to be monitored. I was seen quickly. They lose a star because I was really dissapointed in the frames. Not very diverse choice. I didn't find anything I loved. Had to settle. For £180 I want to LOVE my specs not just think they'll do.

There still continues to be a negative experience with fulfilling orders. In my case my son's contacts and repeated visits made. This does now leave me no alternative but to move on even after formally complaining. Prolific offenders leave you no option when piece meal tokenims is the norm from the top. four week wait!
