Received a communication from the embassy addressed to my husband who died in 2016. Rang the embassy and spent ages listening to what to do in various circumstances in Spanish and English. Then a voice in Spanish told me if I wanted the Embassy to hold. Then told the person I wanted want there Adios. Didn’t even tell them what I wanted. When my husband who was Spanish died I tried to let the Embassy know (as I am supposed to), but gave up as I could not get through.

I had to post them an important document which had to come back to me a few days later. Well the document I received back was folded and wrinkled, no care from their part whatsoever! It was my original graduate certificate. Shameful!

The worst automated phone system I have ever encountered. Seemingly impossible to actually speak to anyone.

Not sure where to start. Calling a consulate and not being able to speak to a person, it is very frustrating, even more during these difficult times (COVID). Not only that, if you send an email, they will not reply to you if the answer to your query is somewhere within their website ... Unbelievable! This is a total disgrace. This is not fit for purpose, you do not provide any service to your citizens.

Simply awful. Impossible to get appointments. Impossible to get an answer from a human either by email or by phone. Does anyone work there???. An embarrassment and quite scary.

I've been calling for a couple weeks to see how I can go back to spain to see my family since my studies are all online now. They have a bot and no one ever talks to you. Today I tried again and it says the mailbox is full.

They say the close at 5 but I have been trying to reach them for an hour and a half (from 13:30 to 15) and they dont pick up the phone. They must be really busy drinking sangria and taking naps. I had a very urgent matter to discuss but I guess naps are mandatory for the embassy staff.

One star but they don't even deserve it. I've been months to book an appointment! when I've been there the service is so old schoold with arrogant public employees unwilling to help, nothing is clear, there is not a smart system to avoid long queues and get everything done just with one visit. Once you know how well-organised other consulates are, this one is something to be ashamed of.

Truly the most horrendous consulate or any organization of any kind. Bad information, tortuous procedures, horrendous bureaucracy. On top the personnel never respond, totally antipathic. This is a case study of how NOT to run any customer-facing organization. And their taxes quickly reach 60%. Really atrocious.

One of the worst consulate I have ever been to, the staff was very rude and unwilling to help resolve my problems. Although to be frank, the people in charge of emails were always very quick in replying me and also very helpful but while in the consulate premise, the staff there are a disgrace, as they do not deserve to work there... rude, lazy, full of themselves, I just cant find the right adjective. They are a disgrace to our great nation España and I reckon the country could do more to when employing people who represent the nation overseas.

A bit better and a nice lady called. She was kind and tried to fix the issue as much as she could. I did not expected that... ============================================================= Extremely rude, lack of politeness, lack of common sense, wrong information, poor customer service... "OMG! How is SPAIN in an economical crisis again?"... I can't believe it. These people are the representations of Spanish Diplomacy?

I am ashamed of the service , my dog could do a better job by only picking up a phone in case of an emergency , put proper staff, even the automatic voice message on the phone line, the lady sounds as if she couldn’t be bothered!!

I was dreading contacting the embassy after reading the reviews on here. However, I got straight through. After the Spanish message (which is to be expected), I spoke to a very knowledgeable member of staff with my complicated enquiry. In English. She was extremely helpful and pleasant to talk to, and solved my problem completely. Thanks for all your help, Spanish Embassy!

What's up with spanish embassies and bad service. Like put nice people to represent you!!! I had an enquiry, I had to email this embassy three times! It took them three months to answer. They only gave a short-sentence answer with no explanation or solutions.

Truly awful man managing the phone. Was totally unwilling to help. Need to take my medicine to Spain and need the necessary paper work. He was apparently too busy even to give me an email. Tried to get rid of me as soon as I called. I called at 10:15 on Thursday Dec 19th 2019. The man should not represent Spain in my opinion.

Terrible, expensive and rude. I applied for a multi entry visa, during the application I didn't want the service of them delivering my passport as I usually collect it myslef from other embassies when I apply for shengen, on getting there they refused that the delivery is compulsory so I had to pay £26, they also ticked SMS service which I didn't want, they didn't text me to say it was ready either as I have to contact them myslef after I didn't hear from them for weeks, on getting my visa they only issued 12 days visa. I realise I have wasted about £100 for a 12 day visiting visa. My flight and accommodation cost me £75 only. bls or whatever is their name. Is shocking and rude, I have now written to them and no reply of cos.

Never pick up the phone. I have tried to contact over 25 times and NEVER pick up the phone. When you go to the actual building they are very rude, slow to process and treat you like dirt. Spain give jobs to people that want to do their jobs, not to entitle rude people that all they care about is to have coffee and cigarette breaks. Appalling to have to have this level of service. Is a shame that this office gives such a bad reputation to the country.

Worst service in the World do not get a Visa from Spanish Embassy they ask you to prepay and prebook the whole Trip to Spain just to deny the application under false grounds. £500+ spend gone done the drain. Then when you try appealing can't get through to anyone just past around to false contact which do not exist i.e. Spanish Consulate. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!!

The issue here is that there is always a lot of people who don't always have the right documentation. So although it can be frustrating they are actually quite efficient. If you have all the correct documentation, with appropriate copies etc and have made an appointment (if needed) then you should y have a problem. Just make sure you have absolutely everything that is required from the website.

They indeed dont answer any phone calls. But I had an appointment today and i was positively impressed. I went there worried after reading such bad reviews on Google but it all went smoothly and stress free. I booked my appointment two months in advance as I wasn't registered at the consulate, otherwise it would have been quicker. From the policeman at the door to the woman who did the paperwork, everyone did his job in a well mannered way and efficiently. I was very impressed. They should work on improving their phone service and to shorten the waiting list for an appointment though.

Didn't pick up the phone, I called loads of time for over an hour. They don't have appointments to renew passports within 3 months from current date and you can only get the special document to travel (salvoconducto) 7 natural days (not even working days) before you travel. It can take up to 48 hours, so if you don't live in London you'll have to book days off for this. Of course you cannot apply online and they're only open in the morning for passports. Absolutely awful service for the thousands of Spanish people living and working in the UK. I asked by email if urgent appointments can be booked and they pretty much replied best thing is to go to Spain.

Shameful. 10 years in London, so I have a few experiences to base this opinion on, and what i feel when i go there is pure honest shame on us. Rude, useless, rude again (unbelievably!) Absurd, too - queue unsheltered in the street, with appointment, to get in one by one and queue again on the stairs, then be asked to photocopy an ELCTRONIC ID card for their records and remind (again, you heard this a lot there) that "the website says we don´t do photocopies".... at job, if someone needs a photocopy, i just go to the printer- and work in a bloody hospital. I really wish i had one good thing to say besides one girl who saw me once and was really nice (and fed up with the place, ha!). Sorry, London, we are much better than this, I swear!

Underfunded, Even though the number of Spanish citizens have multiplied during the past years, this embassy did not increase on capacity, instead put in place nonsensical appointment systems. Currently you need to take an appointment with at least 8 weeks in advance (due to waiting list), the documentation on the website is outdated and they cannot make a simple photocopy for you if missing. On top of that they never answer the phone. I have been on embassies of third word countries where the customer experience was far better than this one. I put one start because I cannot put zero. This consulate is an embarrassment for the Spanish government (which I am a citizen of).

Horrible experience , they have left me in tears , stuff is really rude , they have ignored me several times, deny a temporary passport and told me to go back to Spain or move the date of my flight as a solution. They should be ashamed of the service they offer and how they treat Spanish citizens.

If Google had zero star, I would mark at least 100 zero stars. They refused to issue me an visa for a stupid, unacceptable reason. Although I booked all REAL flights + coaches, all REAL hotels, a GOLD travel insurance, a letter confirmed that I am studying at England, and an appropriately reliable itinerary; and financial documents approved that I had more 3 times for the money I needed ; they refused me in an insane, stupid way which made me lost at least 300 pounds until now. Embassy of Spain - you made a very big mistake. People who use Google reviews, you can believe me or not, I recommend that this embassy should be the last priority in your application for Schengen visa. Otherwise, you are likely to highly regret. Thank you.
