I have spoken to the gentleman at the public response unit and he as most helpful in my case. I asked a question relating to the appropriate visa for my particular intention for travelling to India. Highly recommend their service, I did not get any helpful answers from the VFS visa service, although their website is useful.

Should say the High Commission of India in London has the best service staff in the UK amongst other UK offices. I had to travel to India on emergency and had issues with my OCI, I called emergency mobile number of the High Commission late night, it was picked at once and the Gentleman took time with patience to explain me options for my travel.

We were dealing with a family bereavement and needed to arrange visas urgently. The High Commission were very helpful with their guidance and we obtained visas quickly and were able to travel. They were very helpful and polite on the phone and we appreciated all their help in this very difficult time.

I was having difficulty obtaining a visa, so I went to the High Commission in London. The Public Response Unit was very helpful and the lady went out of her way to help resolve my problem. All the staff I interacted with at the High Commission, from the security doorman, operations gentleman, public relations lady and visa process lady were all extremely helpful and understanding of my urgent and stressful situation. Together they successfully managed to resolve the issue.

Worst service and no response. Unfortunately I had to give good service previously but when went face to face they don't accept OCI renewal services of Birmingham in London/Milton Keynes. Lost trust with service and no clarity as appointments are booked but was told first come first serve. Needs co-ordination of what is spoken and delivered between members from High Commission Passport Services.

Sent an e-mail inquiry regarding validity of OCI at a particular land crossing point. Following an e-mail request to provide a phone number I received a call back from a gentleman in the Public Response Unit and was provided with the information on whom to contact. Moments later I received another call back from the same gentleman having confirmed the situation for me. Fast and friendly service.

I MUST ADMIT THAT SERVICE OF THE INDIA HIGH COMMISSION HAS IMPROVED A LOT COMPARED TO THE LAST 5 YEARS. Had a really pleasant experience with my visa application. I had called to get a status on my application and the lady who helped me was very efficient and was able to get me updates and push my visa processing through. Also I didn’t have to wait on hold too long and go through a thousand options to speak with someone. It literally took 2 minutes to speak with someone.

I called back to a number after getting a few missed calls and my call connected to the High Commission of India, London. I told the gentleman from the Public Response Team, who received my call about the missed calls I got and he informed my about the fraud calls that are being reported to HCI asking mostly the students for money due to some wrong information provided by them or similar stories. He also explained me the steps I should take in case of receiving such calls in future. I would like to thank him for the service provided.

I had an emergency situation regarding a tourist visa following a bereavement. Unfortunately the e-visa website does not recognise Gibraltar passports as being within the UK, so our applications were rejected, with 4 days to travel. The gentleman on the Public Response Unit helpline was amazing, and couldn't have been more helpful, at a helpless and totally stressful time. His calmness and professionalism was wholly reassuring. Thanks to him, although we will still have to go to the UK to resolve this, we will at least now get to attend the funeral. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Indian Embassy has improved way beyond any services in London and one can say amongst whole of London. The man who spoke to me regarding my visa issue gave me the info and guided me with good information, this felt so nice that it was not a pre-recorded machine and I could actually talk to a human (very rare to find in the UK) that too under one phone ring. Proud to be an Indian origin.

Incredibly informative help with a typo on an India evisa that was only picked up at the check desk at the airport. The gentleman we spoke to was very helpful and went out of his way to help us remedy this by sign posting different options to us while we were waiting online to the evisa help line. We are very grateful for the assistance and are still on our way on our original flight to our much awaited holiday in India.

I was having a lot of troubles with my passport. I was referred to the Edinburgh embassy who weren't of much help. However the passport Counsellor at the high commission of India, was very helpful. A really good experience. The staff was very cooperative and understanding of my situation. I lost my passport during a connecting flight from Isle of Man to London and had another flight to catch for returning back to India the same day in the evening. I was horrified for what might happen as I didn’t have any stay options and my Visa was about to expire in 24 hours. I called the emergency helpline number of the public relations department and a gentleman there took on my case. He was a very calm and supportive individual who calmed me down and laid out the next steps very clearly for me with the time they will take in order for me to be able to make my flight for the evening. While he suggested where I could get pictures clicked and get all paperwork printed, he notified the passport officers at the high commission about my case and had the case ready for when I arrived at the embassy. The staff inside at the passport office was super helpful again and processed everything at lightning speeds. Just because of his calm and composure and clear guidelines I was able to get a brand new passport within 3 hours and now am heading home ! I can not thank the Indian High Commission enough for helping me out and feel very proud of being an Indian. Kudos !
