Jonathan was very approachable and knowledgeable in answering my many questions. Equally Victoria and Dom were also a big help during the process and were both also very informative and friendly.

Our experience of this agency to date has been very good. Due to personal reasons we had to make a swift relocation to the UK from overseas. Our agent, Victoria, understood our plight, found us a flat that fit our needs and managed to coordinate landlord, vetting agencies, cleaners, builders and other Justin Lloyd staff in order to organise our move at the earliest, even during her personal time. There were, as there always are, a few issues that needed to be resolved once we had moved in, and James has been very effective in addressing those issues in a timely and professional manner. Really rude telephone manner; called multiple times about a studio because I know how quickly they go, they assured me I would receive a call back the same day; never did. Called them the next day for them to say it was gone, and was basically like "well I can't help you". Come across very rude and unhelpful over the phone; and that was with two different individuals I spoke to over the course of 2 days.

More recently I have had main dealings with both Gary Banks and James Cox... Especially James.
James has gone, above and beyond, out of his way to help in matters regarding the property, which otherwise I would find sometimes tricky to sort - as I do not live in the facility of the property... Especially over the past year = Thank you.

I have recently rented out my property in Brighton with Justin Lloyd. All of the team are very good to deal with. Initially Jonathon, Victoria and Georgia in setting everything up and finding the tenants. I went for the fully managed option and James Cox has been excellent managing the property, including the maintenance to the roof, replacement door as well as some smaller issues which he dealt with very promptly and professionally.

Furthermore, they have always guided me carefully through the processes, explaining what needs to be done, and answering any questions I had as a first-time landlord. They have helped greatly with tenant management when I or neighbours have encountered problems, with great tact. First time letting through an agency, from significant damage in the flat not being in the inventory report to complete lack of communication with me and my partner, I can say that so far this has been a dreadful and worrying experience.
To our absolute shock, we were charged for the flat for 12 days prior to our actual date of receiving access to the property (even though the property was not taken off the market until the day we gained access).
This was all justified by Justin Lloyd’s under the pretence that because there was a delay in our referencing, we should be charged for that delay and not the landlord (who had no tenant at that point or contract with us).
At no point was it communicated to us during the process of our referencing or at any stage after, that we would have to compensate the landlord for any delay in referencing and to be quite frank, it seemed that these guys were in no rush to help us get in quicker.
I found that every time, we seemed to be the ones getting in contact with them to push the process forward and check on the status of our move. Nobody seemed to really care at all and we were misadvised multiple times causing even more delays to the process (which ofcourse was out of our pocket without our knowledge).
I believe that there was sufficient time and opportunity for them as a letting agency to make it clear that during that time of referencing, we were being charged.
6 pages down on our online contract, it says in small writing that our tenancy would begin on a date that was retrospective to our actual move in date.
Read your contracts guys, you never know what they could be doing to you. We were just so excited to get in.
You would assume that being first timers in this they would have some compassion and at least the decency to let you know. But no. Of course. They’d rather it was your money, not theirs.
With a legally binding contract there isn’t much you can really do but make sure your situation is public, that people know your story. To prevent them making make the same mistakes and from being taken advantage of.
We paid the ‘compensation’ and hopefully that is the end of our nightmare start to what was meant to be a bright future living in our first flat together.
I would advise you, look elsewhere guys. There’s plenty of other letting agency’s out there who will treat you right and with a positive attitude always. A few times I’ve had some real attitude honestly and that’s the last thing a landlord will want to hear is that people are being scared away from letting their properties by bad telephone manner, organisation and customer service.
Johnathan and Hannah on the other hand are good at what they do, have always been polite and calm and managed to answer any questions I’ve had with honesty and professionalism.
Just a shame really, we were really excited about this move. So happy. Now we feel under valued and to be honest just taken advantage of.
Let’s hope in the future this can help us and other tenants receive better treatment and communication.

I have to say they were a complete shambles with previous owners (I think called 2-Let), but since new ownership they have been excellent. This office is well organised and efficient. The staff are polite, friendly & always helpful. The office is clean and well furnished. If the specific member of the team you want is not present the others will always take a message or put you in touch via phone, email, or text message. Messages are always dealt with quickly - usually within an hour or two but often more quickly.
As a tenant the management of my property is efficient and thorough. The inspections are non-intrusive and appreciative. Communication with my landlord is equally good with discussion of ways to resolve problems. There is one very helpful Justin Lloyd staff member who has got to know me and values my tenancy.

I purchased my little gem of a flat via Justin Lloyd after a roller coaster 6 month journey. (Delays in no part due to Justin Lloyd). The details were well prepared and really drew my attention to the flat. After viewing the flat, Helen supported me through the negotiation process and Nick (with splashes of Gary and Helen) through the period leading up to exchange. Despite the team's best efforts to console me and keep me on board, I took to the bottle and started smoking again. That said, had it not been for Nick and Helen's tender mercies in particular, I may have had to go on bended knee to my GP for some Valium. Estate agents don't always get a good press, but Justin Lloyd are the exception. Without exception, everyone I dealt with (pretty much everyone) was helpful, courteous, well informed and friendly. I am now sitting at my rather lovely little antique pine table (kindly gifted by dear Mrs J at The Ditch) typing this review in the West Wing of my property. Thank you Nick, Helen and your team!

Having lived in Brighton for 7 years and used many different letting agents I’m very pleased to have returned to Justin Lloyd and to be renting our second property with them.
They have been a real help communicating with our land lord and every tiny concern has been looked into and addressed.
From a dripping tap to the oven not working properly someone has been round within a day or two to help fix any problem we’ve had.
And not to mention the whole house was redecorated before us moving without us requesting..
