We have worked with Philips and Still a couple of times now once on a flat purchase but most recently on our flat sale. They were fantastic from start to finish. Chris and Ollie have made the whole process seamless. Their communication is second to none and we felt supported and informed throughout. The sale progressed at pace because of their approach and we were happy with how they handled it. Ollie was exceptionally speedy in all communications and went above and beyond numerous times. We genuinely believe the sale wouldn’t have been so quick and seamless without them. Through our work we interact with a lot of estate agents across the city and we would 100% say that Philips and Still are the best there is. They are friendly and welcoming but at the same time tenacious and knowledgable. You really won’t regret using their services.

Very helpful Estate Agency. Responded to every enquiry I had were always welcoming when I went into the office with more questions never once did they not have time for me. Abbie went above and beyond for me.
After reading lots of good reviews on google I knew I had picked the right agent to sell my home of 20 years and I wasn’t wrong, they did so with no fuss. A straight taking and professional outfit.

I have been through many estate agents in Brighton the last couple of years, and this is by far and away the best I have used. The attention to detail and desire to do the utmost possible was really refreshing. The agent that helped me, Oliver, was absolutely fantastic and nothing was ever too much hassle for him. It was nice to have an estate agent who cares about my individual needs, not just finding me a property as soon as possible for financial gain. A credit to the company.

Philips & Still are not terrible estate agents; however, our experience with them can be summarised in two ways: they over-promise, and under-deliver.
As far as ability to sell, their luck (and ours) has been impacted by Covid, which has unfortunately prevented them from being able to help us more with the sale.
Nonetheless, we cannot bring ourselves to give them more than 2/5 stars, and there's some good reasons why.
The first has to do with their responsiveness and availability. Having had poor experiences in the past with estate agencies, we were clear that we looked for an agency which communicates with us effectively - that is to say, that they will keep true to their word. It does not matter if you take 1 or 3 days to get back to me, but if you tell me you will call me later today, the minimum I would expect (and which was not delivered) would be to receive an e-mail apologising for the lack of contact. this happened frequently over the course of our 5 month contract, and even though we recently became aware that there were some personal reasons which explained it, we would have expected a different agent to take over and liaise with us.
The second has to do with their perception of our flat and the general market. They had this - now bizzarre - confidence that they would be able to sell our property in under a month. This was true initially, but also after they recommended a drop in price for our property. Alas, we had some viewings, but none of them translated into a single offer. While true that it could be bad luck, the fact is that the expectations we were given were at best showing a lack of understanding of the market, and at worst deliberately deceiving.
The third, and last, is the strangest. Before yesterday, I hadn't committed to writing a public review, because they hadn't been terrible, and I did not wish to publish the review vindictively when a large reason they were unsuccessful was down to pure bad luck. That changed when we saw their behaviour at the end. Sometimes the way you end things shows more about who you truly are than when things are going smoothly, and the agency showed us their character as rather unprofessional.
When my wife picked up the keys, an agent who had been dealing with our property barely looked my wife in the eyes, and basically ignored her. We didn't think much of it, but later on I had to send an e-mail to ask them to remind them to remove our property from the market, and despite us parting ways, I genuinely wished them good luck, and was always cordial.
The response did not include a salutation or parting statements, but rather focused on a list we had asked. This, at last, was efficient and very quick, but for an agency that started their agreement with us proud of how professional and different they were to others, it left it in the end with a sour note and childish behaviour.
It does sadden me somewhat to write this review, but I think it's important as a reflection of who they can be. I sincerely wish, hope, and believe that they can be better than what they demonstrated. All the best.

After finding a suitable buyer, they continued to communicate well, be both receptive and responsive and always showed real motivation - they clearly enjoy and take pride in their work. The end result : from offer to exchange in just two months.

Phillips and Still (P&S) have recently been involved in the sale of our current property and acquisition of our new property. Their level of service has been outstanding throughout. I should elaborate on this a little as it was far beyond my expectations.
From the outset P&S worked tirelessly with us to ensure we marketed our property just how we wanted. They cared about our input and that collaborative experience really shone through at the end.
All of their staff are extremely friendly and we were regularly provided updates on viewings immediately which is exactly what you need when you are in the process of selling.
The stand out piece was the personal service. Chris Still was involved from Day 1 and continued to be involved daily all the way through to the end. This is a business which really cares about the client and I would recommend their services to anyone in Brighton. Their fees also being extremely competitive which I know matters to all.
They want to grow their business and build upon what they really believe in............. They are going the right way about doing that and I wish them all the success they deserve.

Alice from Phillip and still was fantastic from start to finish. They were relaxed in their approach but knew exactly what was going on and pushed hard to make the sale go smoothly and on time when needed. They were not at all salesey which I hate!! Everyone was very polite in the branch, and knew who I was when I came in to collect keys. I was able to view the house 4-5 times with builders which they were totally fine and happy to accommodate. Alice is an asset to the company and will be happy to recommend them to people in the future!
