Spacious branch in a central location. Received good service in this branch. I was greeted at the door and advised that unfortunately I would have to come back in one hour. This was a mild inconvenience; but given the strange times we are in, I was content to oblige and go with the flow. They booked me in for an appointment one hour later. On the downside, there is considerable disconnect between the online, telephone and in-branch service and staff do not seem fully briefed on all aspects of their services. This led to delays which were not the fault of the branch staff, but due to the telephone banking staff. I was in the branch nearly an hour in the end, but the managers I dealt with were really helpful and took extra care to ensure that I left feeling reassured and happy. They are rated among the top 3 banks in the UK at the moment and the staff here certainly lived up to the rating.

Recently opened a business account with Kourosh. What a gentleman!! He made the whole process easy and smooth. How it should be. His customer service was so good that I’m currently scaling back all my Lloyds accounts in uk and abroad and will switch eventually to Metrobank. Thank you Kourosh you star xx

Well what can I say,cracking bank good service nice people very helpfull and open early every day including weekend sat and sun,open a currant account on line or in store get Debit card there and then if in store,only gripe you can not pay in post office,ok in London lots of branches not a lot outside capital,even Starling bank you can pay in post office I think after that comment still a great bank would recommend to all Derek moores ????????????????

Excellent service, staff can't do enough for you, your even greeted at the door! 5-10 minutes and they replace your lost bank card, excellent App and help setting it up. I cannot speak highly enough of my ongoing experience with this bank, open early- shut late and even open on sundays? What more can you ask from a bank. It is the number 1 bank.

WARNING: New customers face upto 2hours to sign you up inside. I was greeted by friendly assistant, was told to wait 5 minutes, 15minutes later I was shown to another assistant...1hour 40mins to set up the most basic Cash Account?!?!? regretting it already, I had all my ID etc, assistant was helpful but kept chatting about unrelevent things, so much paper being printed just for this account? I felt bad for the tree's, I only wanted to use the change machine in the corner. **You don't need an account to use the machine**. 2stars 1 for each assistant doing their best, loose 3 stars for a very long drawn out nauseating sign up experience.

Absolutely awful! Tried to use one of the cash machines outside and it swallowed my card. Went into the shop and the woman told me that the machine was broken and that they wouldn't able to get my card out of it. They knew full well that the machine wasn't working even before I came and yet failed to leave any signs on the machine that this was the case. They could have easily just put a bit of paper over it. I then proceeded to walk past the machine again about 15 minutes later and there was still no indication anywhere that the machine was broken! I have completely lost any respect for the company and the branch and will certainly not be using their cash machines again.

I've recommended this bank to lots of people but not sure it's still the same as it used to be with expansion etc. No good at all saying you're open until late if only 2 staff are actually helping customers and the other 6 are just chatting about their summer plans amongst themselves. Not impressed.

Excellent customer service is the first thing that strikes when you walk in through the door. It was very easy to open a current account once I had my paperwork in order and they set me up with a savings account at the same time. Also, notably different and very customer friendly things include being dog friendly, your cards are issued to you in person, in branch within minutes of opening your account, I don't think any other bank does this. Another excellent service is the magic money machine, if you have a big sack of mixed coins you want to deposit, just pour them into the machine and let it do the rest, no more standing at the counter embarrassed by the frustration of the line of customers behind you whilst waiting for the cashier to count your coins, and no limit on how many coins you can deposit in one go. Also very convenient is the fact that Metro Bank is open 7 days a week and open hours beyond the usual 9-5 from Monday to Saturday. Excellent!

TRAVELERS BEWARE: Metro Bank gives a terrible exchange rate. When I withdrew money from their machine, an option to convert to their exchange rate or not was presented on the screen. The message was not clear to me and when asked to confirm to continue with the rate or not, I understood that the transaction would not go through if I didn't accept. I was charged a rate 10% higher than what my American bank would have changed me. I complained to the manager, she would not reverse the transaction or give me the difference in rate. She called me back and said she would log the complaint. I'm disappointed with my experience with this bank but appreciate the manager's time for responding to me.

Really like this branch. The staff members are friendly and they LISTEN to request and go beyond you expectations to make your experience feel a little bit more personal. I think they staff manage the branch well and you can see there’s team spirit. It’s comfortable and it doesn’t feel like a typical bank where you don’t know if the staff are just hiding in the back or actually working. Everything is open and you can seeeeee what the staff are doing; this makes it easier to understand that they are always trying to do their best and keep the service nice and speedy. I like the fact that when they engage in conversation with you they actually tend to remember you the next time you visit . (This isn’t with just me, my friends have said the same) and I find this quote nice being that they see so many people. The magic money machine has only ever been out of service once when I visited, but I remember passing by a day or two later it was sorted; from my experience with other banks they tend not to bother to sort it for a while ... which can be quite annoying. ????

Went in to sort things and can not get seen. Asked for an appointment and told no it's first come first served with wait times 30 to 60 mins. Considering their selling point is customer service they are the worst at this. Waited an hour before only to find they couldn't help. Going to use another bank

Started off amazingly! A bank that even gives you the mobile number to your business bank manager for direct contact....until she leaves, you’re not informed and nobody has a clue who the new manager is! Then they ‘lose’ the paperwork for an od application TWICE which was handed into the branch. Telephone banking used to be fast but now you’re on hold for at least 10 mins. I’m going back to HSBC!

Nice enough, but I can't shake a feeling of "the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing" opened an account and began a 7 day switch from my old account. Everything was super easy and getting a card there and then was brilliant, but there was zero mention of anything regarding an overdraft as I assumed I'd be given one based on my credit score, brought it up at the last minute and was told I'd need to bring in bank statements and did so a few days later, these where promptly refused because I'm self employed and do not get paid a set amount once a month (duh) I was then asked for a p60 form, something not available to the self employed (duh #2) and the equivalent is not available to me as I do not personally file my tax return through HMRC's site. I get a certified account which includes my net and gross income, it has been accepted by every financial institution I've applied for credit with and was accepted by the US embassy during my visa application. So why not metro bank? Since then I've not been given a clear answer as of why, nor received any help and am now facing serious issues because I cannot even stop or ammendments my switch as it's under 7 days from the get go. Don't fall for the free coffee and jazzy looking branches, they're just as helpless and unhelpful as the next high street banks. EDIT* Its obvious this branch is staffed by incompetent idiots as other recent reviews support.

I end up with blocked account without to know the reason. The staff was useless and made me to write a paper letter to get my money which were in that account. After I didn't received an answer 1 week later they just made a phone call and gave me back the money, so it was no point of writing the paper letter and waiting. This block messed up my direct debits and they said I dont have any reason that can complaint of.

Was sold a bank account that you can't use for direct debits and transfer money out to other accounts. I am left with a pending complaint to the ombudsman and a cash card that is worthless as I can't use it for banking needs. In all I was mis sold an account and closed my other accounts down wasting mine and there time. They would get 0stars if I could give them that. I'm lease bank elsewhere hey know what they're doing. They have my details im awaiting to report them for mis selling me a account

Really bad experience. If you are a foreigner, (from the EU!!), don't bother asking them to open a bank account for you. They won't, no matter what documents you bring to support your application. They did not accept our tenancy agreement as proof of address for hell knows what reason. Not even x-Rays would be enough for them to decide that you are a reliable customer. Never mind, this customer will head to another bank. But you left really a bad impression. Bye
