Worse bank to work with! Can't open a business account for 6 weeks! All documents submitted weeks ago , no explanation , no update .Can't reach anyone over the phone to get feedback with the status .Branch officers are friendly but something wrong with HSBC workflow . Definitely advised to find another bank to work !

Really helpful and nice branch, found it a one stop shop for mortgage, investment and insurance. Steve Kwaiatkowski was amazing ???? Also, just walking in with issues with my phone banking app and even just trying to pay in a cheque they went beyond to help

In general a bad customer service (if you're lucky you hold the line at least 40 minutes before you get an answer) Regarding the branch, they're even worse. When I opened the account they sent me the card in UK and the pin code in Italy, which is totally nonsense since you can't use one without the other. When I went there to complain, they also mede fun of me. Unprofessional and rude.

Very unfriendly and frankly rude man who works there. I wanted to ask him about how to finish setting up my student bank account for which I had received all the documents already but then due to my foreign sounding accent, he just kept interrogating me and asking me how long I have been a resident in the UK etc. NB I already had a basic bank account with them but he seemed to ignore me saying that. Of course the fact I have a British passport is useless in their eyes. But even if I didn't, aren't they supposed to service the customers i.e. customer service?! He just seemed like a racist unhelpful idiot. Cannot imagine how horrible and awful the experience must be for someone from a different background.

The reception staff and not very helpful with details. They try and 'fend-off' clients from getting proper details/advice. I specifically went in today to ask about maximum transfer amounts and was given completely incorrect information.. i found out later that night. Bunch of clowns!

I'm 19, and needed help and advice to do with my account, and a helpful and lovely, (and i should mention gorgeous as well!) man named Louis Charman was the most helpful anyone has been in your branch. My wife has tried to phone HSBC but can never get a reply. It's always so the message says busy all she wants to do is order a new cheque book!!!!! No sign of one coming in the post - poor service considering she has banked with them for many years !

Hello, I’ve received ridiculously poor customer service in Brighton branch at North St. I’m using HSBC bank for more than 10 years now and needed to open a new business account, however, after more than 2 weeks of communication with the consultant, whose name is Mina Mikhael, and providing all requirements he asked me, including the Experian report, which showed that I have an excellent credit history, my application was cancelled and further appointment with another consultant was cancelled as well without any explanation.. I don’t see any reason why the requested account cannot be opened and I haven’t received any appropriate explanation from the consultant when he promised to sort this out. I will need to go to another bank as this is affecting my business.

Me and my international student friend went into the bank just to ask for some advice about him opening up an account to use. We were met with a very snappy, woman who really didn't seem like she wanted to be there, judging by the lack of effort she put in to helping us. By the end of the conversation she made it seem like due to his circumstances, he would not be able to open an account, even though he's been living here for over 10 years. We explained how important our situation was, due to us trying to rent for the next year, and she left us hopeless. We simply walked up the road to Santander, where someone sat us down, without an appointment, listened to us, and explained exactly what were able to do. And now he has an account, very disappointed with hsbc. Personally I have been in the bank alone before and was met with the same hostility when all I wanted was advice.

Its a bank, so on that front it's really rather good, but it's let down somewhat by HSBC supporting terrorist groups and laundering money for mexican cartels.
