Fantastic opticians with really lovely members of staff. Not only was the exam the most thorough I’ve ever had, but the customer service is amazing. They evidently put the customer first, as demonstrated when I changed my mind about glass ordered the next day. I don’t think any other opticians would have been as accommodating for my annoyingly poor decision making! Definitely recommend.

Very thorough with excellent follow up, even outside normal hours, from Marta. She spotted very early signs macular degeneration and arranged a hospital visit super fast. Luckily, this is likely to mean a serious threat to my sight was caught in good time and can be treated.

Very nice staff! Went in for an eye test and bought a beautiful pair of prescription sunglasses. They went through the whole process of choosing the right frame and lens style and custom ordered them for me. Very happy to have them so close by. Marta & her team are the absolute best!

I scheduled an appointment for an eye test and ended up ordering contact lenses through them. The eye test was extremely thorough. I've been wearing contact lenses for close to 8-9 years, but ended up ordering a considerably more comfortable brand through them. I didn't have the impression that they were trying to upsell anything - the overall customer service was great and reasonably priced.

I usually go to the chain opticians but never again! I have never enjoyed a trip to the optician more. Welcoming and friendly. I go to the opticians once/twice every 2 years and I was told more about my eyes in one appointment than all other appointments combined. Great service.

I cannot recommend this optician enough. For years I have been going to different places to have my eyes checked but I was never satisfied. A friend of mine recommended them.
The team is highly professional. My whole family comes here.
I had a problem with my eyes that had a connection with my skin, they detected, referred me to a GP and got it sorted.
Don't doubt it!!!

The detailed eye tests by Marta was the best I’ve ever had. She took her time to complete an array of tests and then recommended some best options for my requirements. Worth mentioning, is that they are actively environmentally conscientious. Many of their frames are plant based according to the receptionist (not verified), however, fashionable recycled eye ware accessories are also for sale here. I loved my experience and highly recommend them. ????????

I made an appointment for 16/07/20 and it was cancelled. Rescheduled for 17/7/20. Attended new appointment on time and was informed that the exam could not be conducted as there was "no internet connection". Being a little frustrated, I questioned why an internet connection was necessary to conduct an eye exam. The excuse I was given was that she wanted to compare any changes to my last exam. I had both my reading and long distance glasses with me. I thought opticians could determine the strength of the lenses with equipment they have. Obviously her excuse was a very poor one. Very unprofessional.

Excellent, personable service from Marta and Natalia, who go the extra mile for the customer with really helpful information and care that others don't give you. Extremely reasonable prices too. It's a genuine bonus to be able to support local businesses as well, especially women-owned and run. (No disrespect to men, of course!) I'd definitely recommend Oval Eyes.

I was extremely impressed by the team at Oval Eyes. As I entered I was greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from a very charming young lady and asked to take a seat, which I did. I amused myself briefly by playing Sudoku ( I have the attention span of a gnat ) and before I'd even finished finding the 2s, I was politely ushered through into a back room full of high tech gadgetry for my eye test. I was a little apprehensive as I'm T1 diabetic and prone to apprehension, but I was quickly put at ease and offered a cup of raspberry infusion - a nice touch, and it was delicious! The test itself was quick but thorough and there were thankfully no anomalies that I was unaware of. Saying that, it turns out that I've been slightly colour blind for thirty odd years. I'd always thought that everyone else was wrong and that there was a conspiracy against me, so useful to know!
Following the test, as I'd recently lost my glasses, which I tend to do every 6 months, I selected frames with help from three enthusiastic staff members. We all agreed that I looked dashing in squarish post hipster frames. They looked great and really offset my round features, which I was pleased with as I have quite a fat face. The cost was extremely reasonable, particularly for an independent, and I've been told that I can pick up my new glasses in 3 days - an impressive turnaround by any standards.
All in all, I was very satisfied by the quality of service and I look forward to coming back in 6 months time when I lose my glasses again!

1st class treatment and care.
I recently went for an eye examination at Oval eyes as it had been 2yrs since my last check up. I booked online and my appointment was with their optometrist director, a lady called Marta, I received a very warm welcome and felt very comfortable as Marta explained to me in detail all about the examination and what all the machines were used for. This is a very detailed examination and good value for money! Everything is explained very clearly unlike some of my previous visits to larger chains like Boots, Specsavers etc...as they tend to rush you through their system and I didn't feel the same personal touch as I received at Oval eyes.
After my examination you are seen by one of the optical advisors to choose new glasses (if required) this was very well organised as they had many different frame choices, I came away happy and with a new set of glasses that I can't wait to wear. I highly recommend Oval eyes if you are looking for that personal touch and quality of service.

I visited Oval Opticians for an eye test followed by buying a new pair of contact lenses.
To be honest, I don't normally write a review here but I was extremely happy with these guys.
A very friendly stuff who made my visit very enjoyable. They were very professional throughout the eye test, then they were really helpful when it came to chose the right contact lenses for me. I was seriously surprise.

Natalia and her team are simply the best! Friendly and professional. My eyesight changed and I couldn't read with my old contact lenses anymore. I was recommended multifocals and I had 3 fittings until they were perfectly adjusted to my needs. From past experiences I've never seen so much attention to detail! The best service with very competitive prices. I highly recommend Ovaleyes!

Wonderful and friendly team! We first visited in 2017 with our daughter and were so impressed with the team we went back.
Although they were unable to fully check my daughter’s eyes as she did not cooperate they saw enough to do a referral to the hospital which resulted in corneal scarring being diagnosed. Our daughter is non verbal and has autism so their diligence and tenacity has meant she is getting treatment.
Natalia and Marta are knowledgable and cheerful and never fail to make you feel they have all the time in the world for you. There is a wide selection available and they discuss all the options.

Oval Eyes are a great local opticians - not only for eye tests and new glasses, but also for advice on eye health. I called in to see Marta about an eye concern - she quickly diagnosed a possible issue, and referred me on an urgent basis to Moorfields Eye Hospital, who dealt with the problem. All sorted within 48 hours - thank you Marta!

Fantastic optician - and my contact lenses are cheaper than online.
I've bought both glasses and contact lenses through Oval Eyes for many years. The team is super-friendly and helpful and professional. I've had a lot of good advice about how better to protect and rest my eyes.
It's also very competitive on price.
I use expensive daily disposable lenses (Acuvue Moist Multifocal) which cost c£50 per month. I've used Vision Direct in the past, assuming this would be cheapest, and it charges £47.98 per month + £2.98 postage for these lenses.
Oval Eyes charges £47.50.
It's a great local business.

I would highly recommend this optician. Everyone is really passionate about what they are doing. I was really uncertain about getting Ortho-K lenses (which by the way everyone should look into!), but the opticians were really friendly and knowledgeable. They put me at ease and helped me along the way. I have to say I'm really pleased with the results and would 100% recommend everybody to this place.

I bought a new pair of glasses whilst on a trip to NZ, unfortunately the prescription was not quite correct. When I contacted the NZ Opticians, they put me in contact with Natalia at Oval Eyes, who rechecked my prescription, arranged for new lenses, then had the lenses adjusted here in The UK and finally fitted them for me.
Excellent service from friendly people makes this an Optician I will go to for my next pair of glasses.

I came across Oval Eyes Opticians in Summer 2018 when researching Ortho-k (orthokeratology) treatment. From the very first phone call, I was treated extremely well by the polite and friendly staff at Oval Eyes.
The treatment itself has been fantastic, it involves having special lenses fitted which are worn at night to correct daytime vision. I am now glasses/lenses free in the day and am extremely happy.
I would recommend ortho-k and Oval Eyes to absolutely everyone. I'm very impressed with the quality of service (at a fraction of the cost it would have been in the City!)
