The piercing experience is good and their jewellery beautiful, but I’ve had a pretty shoddy aftercare experience. I was expressly told that a downsized post for my piercing (cost included in my piercing appointment) could be shipped to me in Hong Kong, as I was returning there from London shortly after the piercing. I’m now told that I can only have the post shipped to me if I pay an extra USD60. I wasn’t told this at my piercing appointment and I would have just insisted on taking the post with me, if I had been. I feel like I was hustled into getting the piercing on a false basis.

Worst customer service! Bought a hoop with diamonds (£860) that turned black on the bridge and caused a severe infection in my year which took 3 months to heal with a scar. When I reached to a customer service I was advised to go to the shop to ‘polish it’, which turned out to be just wiping the jewellery with dry napkin (obviously didn’t work). Then the store manager Margoux Bas was trying to convince me for 20 mins that it’s my fault I got infection and nothing is wrong with the the piece, although it’s evidently all black on the part that goes to my ear. I left with nothing, not even a sorry. I’ve bought over £4000 worth of jewellery in Maria Tash shop and obviously I will never return because of the quality of products and bad customer service

I got my ear pierced in three places between the contraconch and the tashrook at Maria Tash salon at Liberty, on the 10 September. During the procedure, one of the three piercing has not been done correctly and had to be re-done straight away (by the same piercer), but no other issue arose at the time.
About a week later my ear got quite sore, and upon failing to get anyone on the phone at Liberty, I have sent an email. I was instructed on how to compress and take care of the swelling and recommended to get in touch again if the situation did not get better. Unfortunately, in the following couple of weeks the inflammation and the pain only continued to worsen and one of the earrings almost completely disappeared in the swelling. I went to the A&E, where I got prescribed an antibiotic cream to use on the affected area. The next day the swelling expanded even more, causing yet another earring to get "absorbed " by the skin. My GP referred me to see an otolaryngologist, who said the earrings must be taken out immediately. The removal procedure was painful to say the least, and the doctor has explained that the complication arose from the type of earrings that were used.
The doctor has also explained to me that the upper part of the ear (where I had my piercings done) is especially sensitive, fragile, and predisposed to increased swelling, which is why you don't normally get more than a single whole made at a time in the first place and certainly use a different kind of earrings. Earrings should be very easy to remove, due to swelling earrings with a special lock from Maria Tash cannot be removed easily. The removal turns into torture.
Now I have piercing bump scars on my ear and when I wrote to Marta Tash about the incident, I was offered to do another piercing for free. This is unacceptable, since I have already paid more than £1000 on piercing, earrings and doctors’ appointments.

Polite, kind, passionate, knowledgeable and in general a really lovely, warm person.
Clearly cares a lot about the company and about the customers!

Possibly the worst customer service of any piercing/ tattoo place I’ve ever stepped into. I was ignored for 30 minutes while people who came before me were served. The staff made it seem like they were doing you a favour just by acknowledging you. I came down to London specifically to get a couple of piercings but ended up just walking out. Took my business to Love Hate instead and spent twice as much just out of principle. Despite the jewellery being nice here, after this experience I wouldn’t spend a single penny here.

I booked an appointment for today to get 2 piercings as a new years present for myself, I wanted to complete a composition on my ear since I already got a tragus piercing from MT in Harrods last February. I was completely appalled by customer service and one of the people at the till, he was quite rude and snobby and clearly did not care about my needs, e.g. I was looking for a jewellery around 230 pounds and got offered a piece for 500. The person was completely unfriendly. I ended up leaving without any piercing and in awful mood. Since I had a great experience at Harrods, I just assumed it would be of the same standard at Liberty but that is clearly not the case.

Themselves working as sales assistants - as if they own those gold and diamonds. They are on a pretty dismal Salary as most sales assistants are, their job is to provide customer service.

Money down the drain. I went to Maria Tash at Liberty's a few months ago to get 2 upper lobe piercings done. I picked Maria Tash over other piercers because of the brand's reputation of being the first ones to do ear curation. I went in not knowing what I wanted to get done, so I wanted to make sure I was going to an expert at ear curation. I've had multiple piercings done before. And my experience has been the worst with MT so far. When I went in for my session, and got the curation done. I had told them that even though ideally I'd get gold rings done, I've had a not so great experience with a piercing I had done with a titanium hoop before. I had to change the hoop into a stud myself as the bump just wouldn't go down (when I changed it to a stud, the bump went away almost immediately). So I asked them if it's better to get pierced with a bar first instead, they assured me that it doesn't make a difference. Hoops and bars will be the same healing time. As Maria Tash jewellery aren't cheap, of course I'd rather go for the hoops as they're what I would want there for the foreseeable future. And they're meant to be the experts, so I trusted them. I went ahead with the double hoops, after about 6 weeks, my bump on the top one persisted pretty much from the very beginning (and this bump was much worse than the one I had with the titanium hoop). I booked an appointment for a check up and when I went in, they said it's normal and I should just keep doing the saline soak. So I did, day and night, since the very beginning, the first day of getting pierced. The bump still persisted, and bump was aggressive and painful. I sent them emails asking if I should go in and have it looked at again and if I should take it out or if I should get them to change it to a bar for me, and the person who emailed me at MT said no, that I should just keep using the saline solution day and night. Another few weeks pass, and the bump was still there, I just couldn't see how out of nowhere the bump would miraculously go down. I could feel my immune system lowering, since a piercing is a wound, and it's obvious my body didn't like the hoops being there. So I went ahead and took it out myself, and immediately I could see within a day, it started to heal, and the bump went down instantly. Right after I took out the top one, within a few days, the bottom one started developing a bump like the top one. And once again I persisted, and took care of it day and night. After a few weeks, I got fed up again, but I was reluctant to take it out, because it would mean I would have wasted £200+ just like that. But I couldn't see how keeping the hoop in will ever heal. So this morning, I took out the second one, and it already feels better. The point is, instead of potentially wasting your money and having to spend months caring for the painful bumps that just won't go away, I'd suggest you going somewhere else, and picking a piercer who would really listen to their customers and suggest the right jewellery for them.

And our piercer, Nahuel Vinas was great. He explained the procedure and put my daughter at ease as she was a little nervous. Both our piercings (including my conch) have healed beautifully. Have multiple piercings from Maria Tash at Liberty - worth the extra money as they are professional and clean. Always offer advice re: earrings and placements. I get nervous beforehand but they are reassuring and have lovely staff. And their aftercare is great if you need a checkup, or if they’re are any problems!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the team at Liberty London branch for my conch piercing (something I wanted for a very long time!) I only wanted it done at Maria Tash so it was worth the wait. The lady who helped me select my jewellery was the nicest person; she showed me a range of styles and options to complement my existing piercings. I also had 3 new pieces added to existing piercings in my tragus, a daith and a forward helix. The lady who pierced my conch was amazing; put me at ease straight away and I honestly didn’t feel a thing! She was incredible! I left super excited about my new addition and super sparkly with my new jewellery! Can’t wait for my next visit. Nicola xx

I got great advise from the piercer and Camille today. I got my tragus piercing done at another place a month ago but they didn't give me after care advise. Camille gave me great advise on how to look after my piercing. She knew what she was talking about and she helped me out a lot. I'm definitely going to come back and get my ears pierce.

I use the Maria Tash in Liberty and it’s the only place I’ll now get earrings from. The staff are super helpful and knowledgeable. I request Cassia when possible as she always goes the extra mile to listen, make you feel valued and to help design and come up with ideas and suggestions. They aren’t at all pushy with sales and will go to your style and budget. The piercers make you feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you step in the piercing room and are very friendly and approachable.
The jewellery speaks for it’s self, it’s absolutely stunning (and sparkles A LOT).
I used to struggle with my ears rejecting earrings but I have no problems at all with their gold, both in old piercings and new.
Plus to top it all you get to earn points on your purchases with Liberty and get vouchers a couple of time’s a year to spend on your next purchase... (and you get to keep the sharpie they mark your ear with ????????????).
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get a new piercing or just redesign old ones!

She noticed one of my other piercings was Maria Tash and that it could do with adjusting and arranged that for me. Sophie pierced my ear. Everything was super hygienic and Sophie was great! Brilliant experience beginning to end. I booked to have my helix pierced and was given great advice on the type of earring suitable for my ear shape giving me the confidence to get another lobe piercing done as well. Cassia was very friendly and patient whilst showing me the jewellery and Peter who did my piercings was extremely calming and lovely. I purchased a nose stud and had it installed by one of the piercers. Either he screwed it in so tightly or the base was so short that the jewel is basically going into the piercing hole. This can be seen in the photos below. It’s currently infected 3 days later despite having has the piercing for over two years, the jewel has also been covered by my skin which again points to how tightly it’s been pushed in. Extremely disappointed considering that there’s an extra charge for an installation of their own jewellery, you at least expect a service that is well done. I now have to go to a different piercing store in order to get this situation fixed.

I've had 5 ear piercings done at Maria Tash Liberty's. Definitely arrive early for your appointment as there are lots of people hovering around the counters asking questions and it's good to have a chance to really work out the look you want to suit your style and budget. I usually request Kevin who is a complete sweetheart but the other two piercers I had were great too and put me at ease.

I got a second lobe piercing here yesterday by Luna and just have to leave a review. She was so lovely, kind and professional and we spoke about future placements of piercings too. I will absolutely ask for her when the time comes to get my next piercing. I'm not good with pain and she was so good at her craft that I barely felt a thing!
I had 2 previous piercings done in New York at Nordstrom Maria Tash in November 2019 so she helped me with a re-install for one of those too. She gave me her instagram details and told me I'm free to DM her at any point with any questions I might have during my healing process. That is great service isn't it!
Great service by Zac too when I arrived. He was very kind and happy and helped me choose which earrings would and wouldn't fit me and he put me at ease before my appointment.
After my appointment he was equally lovely and had a little look at the end result and made me feel really happy about our choice of jewellery.
In all I bought and had fitted 2 single short spike diamond eternity clickers, bought and got pierced with a 2mm diamond princess ring and had my previous purchase from New York re-installed.
During these covid-19 times the world is a very different place and Maria Tash at Liberty is taking every precaution they can to keep everyone and everything safe so I felt very comfortable during my visit.
It's difficult to interact with face coverings - smiles don't come across in the same way but Zac and Luna really made the extra effort to make me feel at ease and safe. Maria Tash jewellery is gorgeous but isn't cheap and I've been saving money during the 3 month lock down specifically for this occasion. So a huge thank you to everyone who helped make my visit special.

Amazing piercings and jewelry!!! My sister and I have ‘sisterly piercing’ dates together every few months when I’m in London! I have 6 Maria Tash piercings now! It’s addictive! I always ask for Peter at the Liberty store- he’s SO lovely and puts you totally at ease. Cassandra is lovely too and gives great advice on styling your piercings.

So happy with my piercings and a million thanks to Camille who helped me pick out the perfect jewelry and piercing placement! She was super nice and patient and had tons of great styling suggestions since I came in with zero ideas, but was determined to walk out with the start of a curated ear. They were also able to squeeze me in before my designated piercing appointment because I had a show to attend that evening and was leaving to go back to San Francisco the next day. I just wish the jewelry prices were adjusted for the USD to pound conversion. Paying 100 pounds versus $100 USD stateside for the same earring kind of sucks, but the experience was still a great one!

He was super passionate about the earrings and was wearing a mixture in one ear which looked amazing! I ended up buying one! I have been swapping out my piercings for Maria Tash one piece at a time. Since I was traveling to London I made an appointment to get my forward Helix pierced. I already had the 1.2 diamond stud as I initially used it for my auricle piercing. They sterilised it and Kevin did an awesome job. It was painless not even throbbing after.
