Great experience. Was looked after at reception by a lovely girl who helped me pick my earrings and was incredibly happy to help despite my indecisiveness. Had my actual piercing done with Penny who is absolutely lovely and has magicians hands! No pain at all and done really efficiently. Sterile procedure etc. Off back for my next one today I hope.

Maria Tash at Libertys ( and now Harrods ) have become my second homes ... The staff are friendly , professional and their advice and expertise is amazing . I absolutely love love love the simply stunning diamond jewellery ! The beautiful designs are so extraordinary and exquisite - every visit is a delightful experience... I must also highly recommend Penny who has cleverly advised and (pain free) pierced my ears on numerous occasions . I definitely need to mention the wonderful India Megan, who goes above and beyond in helping choose , advise and collate items to make my numerous piercings look stylish and beautiful . Thank you to you all . If I could've given you 6 * I would have . Looking forward to my next visit x

Never one to write a bad review but this place is the worst customer service I have ever experienced :( My mum and I went in to get her a piercing as a treat for her 50th birthday, at first the lady who helped us was lovely - however she did managed to persuade us both to go for the way more expensive options as they would "suit our ear shapes better". Unfortunately, my Mum's piercing was done very badly, poking out the side of her ear, wonky and causing her a lot of pain. Obviously she was gutted considering she had spent £600 on it. We didn't want to make a fuss and decided to go back into Maria Tash a couple of weeks later just to be listened too and hopefully have the piercing redone. When we arrived we were ignored for an hour. A piercer then decided to see us - he was unbelievably patronising, telling my Mum it was her fault as she was "inexperienced with piercings" and that she will just have to get used to it. My mum, obviously really upset that she had wasted £600 very politely queried whether she could get the piercing redone or perhaps try a different earring. The piercer said that this wasn't his job and said to speak to someone at the desk. At the desk we were again told to wait again and then simply given a phone number , as no-one wanted to deal with the issue. We rang to number 4 times and no reply. One staff member was super nice and tried to get the manager to speak to us. However when she went over to ask the manager she literally refused to speak to us and shooed away the other staff member. We were told that there was nothing anyone could do and basically told to leave. Staff here are lovely when they are persuading you to spend a s*** load of your money but when it goes wrong they are unbelievably rude, unhelpful and pretentious. All we were asking for was for the piercing to be redone as it was painful and wonky and had cost £600 :( I have never written a bad review in my life but honestly it is SO SO not worth going here at all!!! You could spend so much less and just a normal piercing shop and have the piercing done correctly and be treated like a human. Liberties need to seriously re-evaluate having this piercing concession in their shop.

I had a piercing done by Nahuel today and I love it! This was my 10th piercing and first at maria tash and it was definetly the best piercing experience I’ve had. There was hardly any pain because my piercer was so quick and professional. Thanks so much, I will be back for more.

Beautiful and great quality jewellery. Came in with one specific piece in mind ready to purchase but the counters were so busy, they literally never got to me in time. I have disability/mobility related issues to standing and waited over 20 minutes and decided for the amount of money I was planning to spend, it was not worth it for the lack of customer service I was receiving (or lack thereof).

My mother and I went to get a new piercing - we had Nahuel who was amazing. He took great care of us, especially my mother who was a bit apprehensive after not having a piercing for 15 years! Best piercing experience I’ve had - highly recommend.

Faultless service at Maria Tash London. From the chap that helped me pick which jewellery I’d like to buy. He took the time to go through the options and how they’d look on the ear and hunting the shop for the piece I really wanted that he’d thought had sold out! My piercer Penny was amazing!! She put me totally at ease and explained everything thoroughly. The piercing I had (tragus) didn’t hurt any where near as much as I’d anticipated & it looks great! Thank you MT! X

Edit: just read a lot of other poor reviews and the complaints are identical. The front of the house is extremely unprofessional and lower Liberty’s standards I never write bad reviews, but my experience here was pitiful, especially in contrast with my very good experience at the Maria Tash in Harrods, where I got my piercing done. I stopped by the Liberty location simply to purchase a bottle of the saline wash. I stood at the counter along with a few other customers for a good 15 min or more whilst the staff assiduously avoided eye contact with several of us, and did things like organize trays of earrings or fill out paperwork. This happened after a few of the sales people told me to go to “my colleagues” who then also ignored me. Finally I had to get a sales person from a completely unrelated dept of the store to help me get the attention of a Maria Tash staff to ring up my £6 bottle; it literally took one minute. For anyone reading this review, highly recommend the Harrods location where the service is excellent.

I have to say I was quite skeptical at first about Maria Tash because of the poor score and reviews. But I decided to judge for myself and accepted to book a session with a friend who was long eager to get a piercing. Our appointment was at 14:00, however on the day we wanted to get it done earlier. We arrived at 11:00 and Alana kindly changed it to 11:30. I then asked if Nahuel the piercer could take care of us since the week before he had nicely assisted me while I was browsing. He was to start at 12:30, so our time was pushed again. Meanwhile Alana was so sweet and patient with us to help chose our piercings (I was picky). A short period after we returned and Nahuel was ready for us. Smiling, fun, cool and relaxed, he put us at ease (my friend was nervous). He guided us well throughout the process, which was reassuring. I went second; minutes before I got pierced, I suddenly had a moment of hesitation and asked if I could go back to the counter to be sure of my jewellery decision (what a pain right). Nahuel was understanding and willing to accommodate me. In the end we were both very happy with the results, and we took pictures outside (one with him to mark the experience!). I've already recommended a friend to visit him. Yes it's a bit on the pricey side, however the quality is good and we took our time. I will definitely go back for more in the future ! :) x Z

I had my piercing done here by Kevin who was amazing and whom I would have given five stars to. However as like other reviewers I had issues with the counter staff here. I asked if they could tell me the price range of the products and was told no and that I would just have to point at individual pieces and then they'd tell me the price. It made me feel really embarrassed that in front of loads of other people waiting I had to keep picking things and then dismissing them on price. I had a couple of hundred pounds to spend and made that clear but they refused to tell me things in my budget and just left me feeling uncomfortable when I'd pick something and then theyd tell me I couldn't afford it. Please can you just be more transparent about your pricing Maria Tash

This was my third visit. The piercers are incredible, really helpful and so good at what they do. The counter staff are hit and miss. Most recently I was served by two different people, the first lady treated me as a complete inconvenience whilst the other, who was seemingly a more junior member of staff, took over the appointment and rescued it by being smiley, cheerful and engaged. Maria Tash need to address this, it's a poor show.

I have visited this place at least 3 times during past 2 weeks and never was able to catch a sales assistant who would spend few minutes with me to give me an advice. I have always found it busy with only 2 ppl on the floor serving the big space with another customers waiting to be served.. so you wait and wait and since there is no queue, and sales assistants doesnt have a chance to keep an eye on who s been waiting longer, you will never get served. I have only been asked if i had an appointment. do I need an appointment to get an advice? liberty is close to my office so its very convenient to get there however, I visited harrods yesterday which is totally different story. A lot of assistants ready and happy to serve you. I bought small trinity diamond piece, since another style was not available in yellow gold I ve been advised to go to liberty, but not sure if I would ever be served there ..

Had a good experience at Liberty London today. Irene helped me pick my jewellery. She was helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Kevin kindly carried out my piercing. He was a thorough professional. I was impressed by the hygiene standards and felt reassured that I had chosen the right piercing service. I’m happy with the lovely piece Irene helped me select. On a different note: The jewellery is beautiful, but overpriced. I got my daith done because high quality daith jewellery is not easily available. However, there is no way I would pay so much for typical jewellery. I was very surprised that the piercing incurred a separate cost. I would have thought it would be included/provided for a nominal fee given the high price of the piece. I did not have to wait long thanks to Irene, who arranged for my piercing promptly (I had to catch a train). However, I had observed other customers waiting for a while, and I was surprised that they weren’t offered refreshments. I would expect this as standard in any jewellery shop and certainly a high end one where people have to wait for piercings. A good experience overall but the service does not justify the price.

Reading reviews here before going had me a little concerned but I really had no need to be. (I also recommend reading the glowing press reviews as they were what made me go ahead.) This place is superb. Staff on Reception were warm, welcoming and friendly and helped advise my jewellery choices. I waited about 20 mins for my appt but when you are having a permanent hole put in your body surely knowing that the piercers are taking the time to do the best job for all clients is what you go to Maria Tash for? The guy that pierced me - I think Kevin, put me immediately at ease. I asked his advice about placement and he mentioned considerations about the shape of my ears that I would never have considered before. You get to see location before the needle. The whole process was quick, aftercare information filled and enjoyable. A true piercing artist. I'm delighted.

The piercer, Kevin, was amazing! He was friendly, calming, professional, and knew exactly what he was doing. He recommended placements and adjusted the earrings to my specific needs, given that I wear glasses. He took the time to explain all the necessities, and limitations. BUT I went in specifically for the special earrings they offer, and their stock was limited in comparison to their online catalogue. The earrings weren't displayed that well, and looked unappealing. The service at the counter was annoying, and the staff member wasn't focussed. They should be more attentive, especially when customers come in wanting to spend money. They also were out of saline solution which was extremely inconvenient.

It was great. The assistant helped me select an earring, even though the colour I wanted wasn't there I'm happy with what I got. I arrived about 15mins before my appointment time and was pierced right on time - there is 10mons needed to sterilise the earring you chose. The piercer - Nahuel was amazing, kept me entertained and calm throughout the whole thing. The aftercare instructions were explained. All in all a really good experience.

I went to Maria Tash in Liberty’s to get an earring changed and received the best advice ever. I had recently got a second hole in the higher part of the earlobe by a different piercing shop (closer to where I work). The piercing would not heal and I thought putting a ring would help. When I asked for the ring at the counter, the man strongly advised against it. He said the ring would put more pressure on the lobe which would cause swelling and infection. He advised I should get an earring with a longer bar and a threaded end. I followed his advice and I couldn’t be happier. My piercing healed within a week and the jewellery looks great!

Since 2016 when Maria Tash opened, I have been coming here for all my piercings and earrings. The experience is fantastic in store and the team are patient and kind and really honest. I always book with Kevin for my piercings. To me he is absolutely fantastic, he puts you at ease, takes his time to get perfect placement- one deep breath in and you’re done. He’s pierced my low helix, lobe, daith, tragus. I am someone who suffers from keloids, and his no fuss technique has kept my ears keloid free. His after care is amazing, and I feel totally confident with him, which had made me more adventurous with my piercings. He is a true star.

I called to book an appointment for my daughter and the person I spoke to wasn't at all helpful. She didn't explain anything at all and came across as disinterested. It put me off completely so I called The Urban Retreat Spa at Harrods and the lady there was lovely. She was incredibly helpful and explained all the costs and the earring choices as well as the piercing method. I booked immediately and will be taking my daughter next week. Maria Tash at Liberty really need to sort their front of staff out. They're supposed to be high end but they need training in customer service.

I had a very positive experience this morning . Rosa , who was behind the counter was so helpful and didn’t rush me at all to make my choice of earring . She was polite and cheerful and made the experience a very pleasant one . Sophie who pierced my helix was wonderful and extremely professional . All in all , an enjoyable hour was spent at Maria Tash . I’m delighted with my purchase .

Get pierced by a PROFESSIONAL and receive the customer service you deserve. Go to Extreme Needle (not so far from Liberty) and get pierced by Raph. She is the BEST. You can email them with any concerns and pictures after you've been pierced and they will get back to you in no time.

I booked an appointment for 19th August at 12:30pm with my friend for a celebration. We were told to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to choose the jewellery and so we did. Upon arrival, we waited 10 minutes for service... The lady behind the counter was playing with her hair in the mirror and checking her phone. She was oblivious to the fact we were at the counter waiting for our appointment. I finally got her attention and told her we are already late for our booking already. She seemed very spacey and not engaged while asking her questions about the pieces and placement of the jewelry. After we finally chose our jewelry, we sat in the waiting area to get pierced. After waiting 45 minutes I went up to the counter and asked what was taking so long. Unfortunately, the spacey lady at the counter mixed the names and times up and no one bothered to check on us while waiting on the couch. I told her numerous times our names and she put down a different name on the sheet. Our appointment was booked for 12:30 and we were not pierced until 1:30. This is not acceptable as no one gave us any information why it was taking so long. Luckily Jasmine the piercer was extremely professional and very sweet. She explained where the piercing should be placed and made sure that we were happy with the experience. She made the experience much more pleasant. The front of house is an absolute disgrace and needs re-training or re-hiring. They are clearly not engaged or enthusiastic at what they do. Having your mobile phone out and looking at yourself in the mirror while there are customers that are willing to spend A LOT of money is a joke. I would come back only if Jasmine is available to help me from the beginning. It's really a shame.

Agree with what most other people have said in their reviews... I've come in three times and each time, had a very poor experience with the front of house / counter sales staff. They never acknowledged my presence and I've even been left waiting for 15 minutes standing there just trying to gain someone's attention! On a separate occasion after I was finally served, the staff member interrupted their discussion with me part way through to go serve another customer that just turned up. It was quite obvious it was because the other customer was making an expensive purchase, so the staff didn't see fit to finish serving me first. It's not uncommon to see staff members just talking to each other and leaving customers waiting for no good reason. They seem disorganized and wholly unprofessional, which makes for a very disappointing initial experience at Maria Tash. I don't know who employs the staff - whether it be Liberty or Maria Tash - but it truly is marring reputable businesses. The only positive is that I had a really comfortable and confident experience with Kevin who did my piercing. He was very thorough, friendly and offered to give me his Instagram details should I need to contact him directly for anything. I would definitely go back just to see Kevin. Still, something needs to be done about the front of house staff...

I had such a bad experience here if just changing my conch earrings. The lady took about 15 mins to remove the one I had in and literally twisted and turned my ear with no consideration or even to ask me if it was hurting and OK. she the replaced it with a post which was way longer then the one I already had and when I told them I wanted a shorter one like the one I had removed they said its Too short and i should stick to the one I have. So now I'm stuck with a loose earring which doesn't look great. Their jewellery even though 100% gold is also very overpriced

I visited the store a few times, with the intent to have a closer look at the jewelry (as the website does not give away too much and the jewelry also appears to be much bigger as it is in real life). Not once did the staff try and make the effort to consult or be of any service, everyone always seemed to be super busy with someone else or simply chatted to their colleagues. If standing around for too long, I got asked wether I needed help and the effort made to show me jewelry was simply unacceptable. Absolutely shocked by how rude, arrogant and disinterested the staff in this store is. Yes, the jewelry is nice and pretty, but given the extraordinarily high priced items, you would expect some kind of nice customer service. I´d never recommend this store to anyone. Unfortunately due to instagram and wanna-be celebrities the brand gets so much attention, that they apparently can afford this kind of behavior. To add, if you buy already utterly expensive jewelry they still charge you 15gpb to have it put in.

I had my Tragus pierced by Jasmine, who was very friendly and professional. She took care to make it perfect and I really appreciated that! I had my other tragus pierced previously at Cold Steal in Camden (5* rated) and they did it wonky and I had to take it out and let my ear heal. Compared to that piercing experience this was quicker, much less painful and I'm pleasantly surprised so far it hasn't swelled up at all, no bruises and a lot less aching. The only downside was that they where running a bit late with appointments so I had to wait 20mins, but overall it was definitely worth the wait and I'm really happy with my new piercing!

I've been in a few times to ask questions and have spoken to them on the phone. The piercers themselves are lovely and very knowledgeable but the counter staff are so rude - always either ignored me or acted like I was a massive inconvenience. Such a shame and totally letting both brands down.

Went there this evening it was 7pm and not busy- I was the only one at the counter. The two shop asssistants didn't acknowledge me, they were talking about their work rota. When I asked about the jewellery, the girl was rude and dismissive, then started doing her hair in the mirror and carried on talking about the rota. I was there to spend money, but I took my business elsewhere. I have been shopping at Liberty for years and this the first time I have had bad customer service.

Went here to get my first cartialage piercing today. Having only had 3 lobe piercings, I had no idea what to expect and so was jittery with nerves! Arrived at my appointment and straight away Dimitri helped me pick out my jewellery - I went in for a single piercing up the top of my ear but ended up getting a double helix after he showed me how it would look on my ear! After I chose the jewellery, he took the studs off to be cleaned in the autoclave and 10 mins later I was called into a separate room by the lovely Penny. She was very welcoming and made me feel so much less nervous - she cleaned my ear thoroughly and showed me the positioning which was perfect. She then had me lay down and she pieced both of the holes - both were done in under 3 mins and I couldn’t be happier with how they look! She gave me good advice on aftercare and I could not be happier with any other pericer - she was wonderful! 5/5 stars for such a good experience - thanks Penny!

Disappointing experience. I prebooked my appointment and was sent a link to Maria Tash’s website to enable me to pick a piece I wanted when I came to get pierced. When I arrived at store, it took 10 minutes of standing at the counter before anyone bothered to check me in. I was allowed to pick out an earring for my piercing - unfortunately all my choices were out of stock. Most of the other cheaper ones were also out of stock so I had to pick a piece that wasn’t high on my list of choices. Despite having a pre-booked appointment, I had to wait 45 minutes over this time as the walk ins who were evidently spending more cash than me seemed to be prioritised. The Piercing was fine and good standards of hygiene were evident. I was told to come back in a couple of months to get checked over and to have the long post changed for a shorter one. Some months later I emailed to book an appointment to get the post changed - I was told the shorter posts were out of stock so I’d have to go on a waiting list. A month later I emailed again - still no stock. After waiting another month, I decided to visit the store. My piercing wasn’t healing and had swollen up as the long post was now causing friction scarring due to the post being too long. It was constantly moving and getting caught, which caused issues. This time I stood for 15 minutes before being served. The assistant was dismissive, uninterested in helping me and was rude. It was clear that she wasn’t interested in me as I was not there to buy. She said the posts were out of stock. When I explained the discomfort and poor healing, she said she still wouldn’t change the post as I should not change it for at least a year - completely in contradiction to what the piercer has said. After some discussion about my issues and after I advised I would have to get a consultation from another piercer given that my ear was not healing, magically a shorter post was produced from under the counter. I was allowed to take this home with me so that another piercer could change it instead as they couldn’t fit me in. Save your money. The earrings are overpriced and the service was repeatedly poor. I am a regular customer of other departments in Libertys, however won’t be going back to Maria Tash.

On my first occasion I was a walk in, early on a Saturday morning. No issues what so ever....great service. On the second occasion, I had pre-booked well in advance (after purchasing my earring) as my appointment would be later in the day. I was having my hair coloured and blow dryed upstairs and they over ran, which made me 5 mins late for my appointment. The sales assistant was incredibly rude. After waiting for 30 mins, I asked for my earring back. They refused, telling me that it was already being cleaned and was with the piercer. Again, I requested someone go and retrieve it after 45 mins of waiting. In total, they made me wait well over an hour before they pierced my ear.... all for arriving 5 mins late. It was almost like I was purposefully made to wait, and everyone that had an appointment after my scheduled time was seen before me. Whilst I was in the waiting area, numerous people walked in and were quickly seen to. Therefore, I'm not sure why they were not able to just squeeze me in before one of them, and like I said...I was no later than 5 mins. I am also a regular customer at Liberty. This is the only occasion I have experienced poor customer service there.
