While the staff are very friendly, the quality of food isn’t exceptional. The vegetarian and vegan options that were had on a recent visit were bland and served on small wooden cutting boards. The Salted Seitan Bretzel Bap (£8.50) was especially odd, with cold slippery cuttings of what I suppose was seitan, but tasted more like lightly-seasoned sponge. The Halloumi Dog was less bad, though still didn’t cut if for the price (£8.00 including grass clippings on the side and a generous pinch of cold slaw).
The interior has clearly been refurbished recently, and though the plush booths are swanky, the patrons relegated to the shabby backless stools across from them have my sympathies.

Great food and beer selection, if you wish to eat I'd recommend going before 6pm as it can get very busy in here and finding a table can be tricky. The place had a cool look, mixing old school pub with modern touches. Also has theme food nights, macaroni Monday and chicken Wednesday.

Went to go here for my first visit with my partner and there parents, we were greeted by a female member of staff that was pleasant enough who asked myself and my partner if we had a face covering, we both explained we were both exempt from wearing a covering, she asked if we had an exemption card, which we made clear that the government as stated on the official website says that you do not require any proof of exemption and that if denied it is discriminatory. The lady excepted this, but than a gentleman man came over and interrupted and asked the same question which we responded with the same response. He said its company policy that everyone must wear a face covering to there table and that we cannot come in if this is the case.
I asked to speak to the manager, he than said he is the manager, I must say I'm shocked and disgusted by this individuals lack of compassion and social skills and has ultimately alienated any future visits.
I think that this business will subsequently suffer further in these difficult times with there lack of understanding and inclusion for people with hidden disabilities.
It's a shame for the owners to have such staff working for them.

The roasts here are insanely good. Best roast I have had out. Have a look at my photo it was absolutely delicious. I had the pork belly. A superb portion size.
Avoid for dessert.
The dessert let it down for our meal of 11 people. We had several brownie and ice cream served with no spoons and no staff to bring us any, so the ice cream all melted. The others who had all also pre-ordered apple crumbles, 2 had arrived but we had to wait for the other 3 which took around another 20-25 minutes to finally arrive. When they did they were presented completely differently with a shared hot custard pot between 3. The first 2 crumbles had individual cold custard.

We were initially turned away because they had been busy earlier in the evening and were 'catching up' (hundreds of pounds worth of lost revenue for the owner given the amount of people who were turned away). The place had empty tables everywhere. The bar staff were hugging each other and their friends in the street. All the while they were enforcing covid rules that are far beyond the requirements of the law to the point of actually being illegal. Sorry to post a bad review, I love pubs and the people who work in them. As a business owner myself though I know that your barman doesn't represent your interests.

One of the most stylish and original pubs in Brighton (not far from the seafront), the Seven Stars offers a more than decent variety of ales, plus the usual selection of national and international lagers. What makes the Seven Stars special is the highly original décor and the spacious indoor seating area - this is truly a place to linger and while away a lazy afternoon. The staff are usually very friendly and helpful, too. One of the best traditional pubs (with a bar vibe) in Brighton. Recommended.

The staff and customers are in this pandemic world are scared. But to be shouted at through a tall clear screen at a bar just because I wanted a menus was so over the top, and I was at least a metre away. Think you need to train your staff. Food was great thou.

They refurbished the place and it's really nice! Friendly staff, good food, not much waiting waiting time and nice atmosphere.

Good range of food, not extensive but different enough for genuine choice. My hallumi hot dog was good but had weird chewy things on top, chips and salad great, boyfriend had sausage and mash which could have done with some veg. Not enough to stop me from returning for more food. Would have stayed longer for drinks but DJ came on at 9:15 and we could no longer talk. Hey, must be my age, Thursday night meals out are for talking. Nice place, gorgeous decoration, reasonably priced.

Amazing vibe in this place on a Sunday afternoon. A live band was on with plenty of enthusiastic people Lindy hopping in front of them. The decor is very cool and there's an amazing range of beers. Most importantly; knockout Sunday roast. Also cannot leave without mentioning the crumble. Mmmm.

Whilst the decor is lovely; unfortunately, the establishment is run by staff with poor attitudes, firstly, they argued that we were a group of 6, when we were only a 3...we offered to show ID to prove we were together. COVID restrictions allow one person to bar, but when I requested a drinks menu to take back to table, I was told to take a look and remember what they sold. The customer service we had received was diabolical, we decided to leave. On leaving we shared our poor experience with front of staff, which was greeted by a shrug, we advised we would leave negative reviews. As a consequence of us sharing our dissatisfaction, the establishment decided to share with other bars over radio, that we were 'agressive' and had called them A*** holes.... this was completely untrue!! Fortunately, staff at other bars disagreed with the lies. The immature behaviour from the seven stars did not ruin our night. Would advise others to stay away!!

I love the layout and decor of this pub. It's got an art deco feel to it. There's a nice cocktail menu and variety of foods. It's a great central location in town too.

One of the stand out city centre pubs. Has a really good choice of beers, lagers etc. Good selection of wines and spirits. Food is really good and competitively priced for its location.
The decor is really nice, cosy feel to the place and a really good atmosphere. Staff have always been polite and helpful.

Absolutely terrible service. Came here in a group, we had pre ordered over a month in advance and we still had to wait over an hour for the food to arrive. When it did we had no apology, and at least 2 orders were wrong.
On the plus side, the decor is beautiful, and had we been doing here for a night out, not food it would have been the right place to go.
