This place was the embodiment of my university experience, and I mean that in a good way. The amount of hours I’ve spent in this pubs beer garden is unreal. The atmosphere is always fun, especially at night, the staff are lovely, the food is really good (although not the best pub food I’ve had in Brighton either). The alcohol prices are as expensive as you’d expect from most pubs in Brighton, but the student deals are really really good value. When I was a student I didn’t really enjoy more student centric places like the hobgoblin as I didn’t like the crowds and tacky music. I remember finding The Hare and Hounds, that also catered well to students but had a much more down to earth atmosphere, and it feeling like a godsend. I’ve left uni now and it’s still one of my favourite places in Brighton :)

Amazing place.
Stop number one on our bar crawl, so good that we ended the night back here.
Incredible beer selection, I chose the marshmallow porter which was delicious.
The staff were so helpful and friendly.
The food was very generous portion wise and the taste was awesome.
Also has a cool seating area outside.

Met up with a friend to celebrate her birthday, ordered a delicious Thai meal but took over an hour to arrive (not sure why as they weren't terribly busy) and I was really hungry. I have to say the food was worth the wait though! They have sectioned off in the pub to allow people adequate spacing, just need a few more staff to help with table service!

Such a great pub, a bit away from the crowded seafront areas of Brighton, but filled with craft beers, great service and even tasty Thai food. Definitely worth a visit if you live in Brighton or want to try somewhere new when you come down to the south coast. Try out a Sunday roast here, sit outside in their beer garden, and watch a game of rugby upstairs. Had several great afternoons and evenings here!

I was made a mistake when I ordered and when I asked for it to be changed the girl with the ponytail and shaved sides was very nice and professional about it. I really appreciated her attitude. I wish I could have tipped somehow but didn't have cash. If the owners could giver her a wee bonus or free hour or something I think it would be well deserved

Thai food Mon > Sat. Authentic taste. I asked for real thai taste and was pleasantly surprised by how spicy the Thai chef made the curry.
Great pub for a pint of Czech beer along with.
Worth a punt of anyones coin.

This is a very busy pub with a nice atmosphere. System for taking drinks during the covid pandemic could be more efficient. Cheap and cheerful and great for all ages.

I quite like this pub, spacious, a bit like a grown up, Nickelodeon themed playroom. A lot of the cool-kids hang here for an end of week drink. Beer is good, but not cheap, and i haven't eaten their since Kitgum had a guest slot, so can't comment on the grub.

great pub, nice beers, well decorated and an excellent garden [jungle is massive]. went the other day and the music was sooo loud - must have thought they were running a dnb rave for the hard of hearing.. but normally some good live bands playing and they allow you to have a conversation, or at least don't make any ears bleed.

The Hare and Hounds is a really great pub. The staff are all really friendly and even though it can be quite busy sometimes I've never had any issues with them. It's quite spacious so is good for groups and it has a really nice atmosphere and interior. The prices are slightly expensive but nothing really to complain about and it's definitely one of my favourite pubs in Brighton. They also have a kitchen and there tends to be good food. Overall it's somewhere I'd definitely recommend

I was told that they had a spot available for my girlfriend and I, the bouncer asked for ID, I presented him with my Zimbabwean driver's licence (one of the few you are allowed to just swap with a UK licence) and he said he didn't know if he could accept it so he would ask a colleague to come and verify, after waiting 10 minutes at the door he told me that there suddenly wasn't any room for us, absolutely atrocious establishment, will not be returning any time soon, pity because it's right round the corner from my place

Went to Hare and Hounds on Wednesday. The bar staff have no customer service skills. One in particular the short girl with brown hair. Food was thrown on the table with no communication or acknowledgement. Rolled eyes when asked for mayo. When ordering a drink at the bar I took a second to think about the other drink I was ordering and the same bar woman said “come on what do you want” I felt this was extremely rude and uncomfortable. Such a shame as it’s a lovely bar, but when spending nearly £6 on a pint I don’t expect to be treated this way. If you don’t like being friendly maybe this isn’t the job for you!
