Consistently the best Guinness in town. And I mean consistently over decades. Always a great boozer. If you judge the quality of a pub by the quality of Guinness, and I mostly do, then this is a clear winner. On my persistent search for the best pint around the world the fiddlers, admittedly outside the island of Ireland, has never yet failed. Great staff, caters for all, convenient city centre location. If you’re looking for a pint or more, a coincidental chat and maybe some entertainment then pop in ????☘️. Just don’t say “for one”.

A very helpful (and patient!) young man helped with the on-line ordering & payment system. A lovely pub with lots of original features. Good covid routines. Great atmosphere and ambience in this place ????.

The best Guinness in Brighton and cheap £3.70 a pint. Always friendly, great staff, amazing music and always has live music or an event on. So whether you want to relax in the afternoon or have a lively evening you must come here

Decent little boozer just off West Street. Good prices, food is decent. TV could use an upgrade though. To escape the hustle of West Street it's a great shout. One of my regulars.

Lovely traditional English back street pub with a cozy atmosphere and really friendly staff. Drinks reasonable prices and a great selection. Probably here and the "Lion & Lobster" are the best two traditional pubs in Brighton. (Recommended if attending the Brighton Centre as close and not a soulless bar!)

On a normal day, this would be a charming and genuine Irish pub, a compact but cute gem set near the Lanes. However, today saw Wales come back to trounce England in the Six Nations Rugby, so it was rammed with lots of tall blokes blocking the small screens. Top quality and well served Guinness as you would expect, but also a great range of drinks beyond the usual lager and cider additions. Will have to come back for a calmer pint one evening, especially if there's a bit of trad music going on.....

Poor service. I waited at the bar for 10-15 minutes during a quiet period. I was constantly looked at by the bar staff while I waited, yet I was ignored and I was served after people who had waited less time than me. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, however on this occasion, I will. I was messed around with my ID, I was buying two drinks and I was asked to present just the IDs of me and the other person, so I got the IDs and presented them. I was then told that she needed to see the other person, which she didn’t mention, and after walking back to my table twice, the other person came to the bar. The girl who served me was very dismissive and evidently had better things to do. After being served and paying, I walked away only to see the two girls behind the bar pointing at me and sneering — very poor experience and an extremely uncomfortable setting. If I could give 0/5 I would.

Used to be the best place for St Patrick's Day but was a bit overcrowded yday. That's not to say the staff and security are not excellent... for them they have 5 stars!

Nice friendly pub. Lots of live music in the evenings and a good atmosphere. And with Guinness presently only £2.99 a pint on Mondays..what's not to like! I can recommend the crispy bacon, brie and onion chutney panini. Very tasty.

It's not the type of pub I would normally use but on this occasion I was there as my son was having drinks for his birthday I found it to be quite busy mind you it was a Saturday night. The service and bar staff where very welcoming unlike the security doorman who looked like he did not want to be there. Good choice of alcoholic beverages especially Guinness which seemed to be the most popular sold as I've never seen so many Guinness Draught pumps on one bar but that's fine as I drink Guinness. There was a disc jockey playing in the back bar but you could not escape the music he was playing as it was being piped through external speakers all around the pub, music was in my opinion not bad as it was mostly 70s and 80s funky soul which I quite enjoyed to be honest. Would I go back yes as long as the music was the same and I wanted a change as I am really not a fan of pubs based in the West Street area of the city.
