I shopped around quite extensively when I came to purchase my car back in November 2015, I went to many dealerships that were much more local, both car supermarkets and dealers and the presentation of the used cars and the awful salesmanship was putting me off even buying a car. I found an ad for the car I wanted on Autotrader, and made the 40 mile journey up the M1 to Motorline Direct to view the car. Upon arrival we were greeted by Gary, upon describing the ad we had seen he knew exactly what car we had come to see and took us to it. The car was immaculately presented and Gary unlocked it and showed us the documentation. A good salesman will pick up on what kind of experience you want and he did just that. It would be quite clear to a decent, honest salesman that I had researched the model of car and that I knew exactly what I wanted. Gary was the first one who picked this up and upon showing us the car he left us to look around it and chat, telling us where to find him. What?! You mean you're not going to hover around me pressuring me into taking it for a drive or put down a deposit as you have 3 other people coming to look at this exact car?! Haha, I was very pleasantly surprised to say the least! Having made a bit of a trip I had lined up another vehicle in the area to also look at, so we told Gary we were going to think about it, he was very polite and gave me his card. I went to view this other car, and it was almost identical however it was £500 more and had less miles on the clock, however as true to my other experiences the saleswoman tried to force my hand and would leave me alone just to look by myself. For this very reason we marched back down to Motorline and gave Gary the deposit! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the market for a great deal for a used car. The prices are fixed and very competitive, just how I like it. I hate having to haggle down a price because they price the car high because they expect you to! I don't have to haggle a pint of milk down from £5 so why do it with cars! Everyone's different in the experience they want when buying a car, and from my experience and looking at the other reviews, these guys are good at reading what you'd want!

Mayank Shah wrote to Motorline Direct.... I purchased a Passat in June and the sales person was Matt Butters. Matt was absolutely brilliant.. service was excellent, paperwork was sorted in the most professional way and everything was done as promised. I also took a 12 month warranty with a doubt in mind if it will work for me. However, I was again surprised with the level of efficiency and promptness with which problem with the water pump was sorted and to top it up, I was given a courtesy car on my arrival. Thanks also to Garry, Sam and Jass - the entire team is absolutely brilliant and I will not hesitate in recommending Motorline Direct to anyone. Keep up the good work.

Went in after finding 2 cars I was looking for on Autotrader. Firstly PRESENTATION! I looked around the first vehicle to find it badly scratched on the wing and the bumper looked like it had been sprayed by Stevie Wonder! I then looked at the second car to find it poorly valeted with again damage to the bumper. The sales person did say that it would be repaired before collection should I wish to purchase. If I were in the game of selling an expensive item such as a car I would at least make effort to ensure any repairs were done before showing it in public, it's just embarrassing! Secondly THE PRICE! The 2 vehicles I looked at were reasonably over priced - you expect this to a degree with a garage. But then not to haggle? Apparently they have a fixed price policy! No road tax thrown in - not a sausage! You could argue that the vehicles are keenly priced with no margin for reductions but I can assure anyone that I have looked high and low and know the general price of the particular vehicle I'm after. Finally NO TEST DRIVE BEFORE CREDIT CHECKS!?!?!? I had organised a broker to deal with my financial affairs as my case is a little complex due to my employment. I explained this to the sales person who advised me the broker I used wasn't reputable and he could get me a much better deal with their own. Not only was the percentage higher, but I was embarrassingly declined. But I was given no option to test drive any vehicle until the finance was in place. That then left me talking to my broker on the phone asking about prices and deals - Bear in mind, I have finance already in place to proceed and I'm still not offered to drive the vehicle. At this point I made the decision to leave as my better half had called to tell me of a better deal AT A MAIN DEALERSHIP!! Comes to something when you get a better deal from Honda themselves! In short - I won't be wasting my time there again ever!

Think twice before buying a high performance car from motorline direct! Bought my c63 from these in march, within a few days of ownership the rear tyres (which were brand new 'nankangs' fitted by motorline) kept going down , I took the car to a tyre shop thinking I maybe had a leaking valve/puncture, only to find the rear wheels had been welded and the welds had started to crack, I informed motorline who told me the wheels had indeed been welded before I collected the car, I returned the wheels to them for inspection and was told that they would not repair them should they find the previous welds had cracked again, which they had. After a few weeks of waiting , I received a call saying the wheels were ready, I asked if they had been replaced but was told no, they had been welded again ?? I'v received the wheels back now, the area that has been welded isn't even round no more, and they expect me to put them on the rear of a c63?! I would not use these for buying a specialist car again that's for sure ..

I travelled 2hrs and 100 miles to look at a particular car advertised on eBay with my wife and 8 month old baby. I had the cash ready, when I viewed the car and asked Luke to test drive it I was told that I must realise that the screen price was non negotiable and there would be £99 added to the price for admin. !! Non of this was mentioned on the eBay listing or when I called prior to setting off. Three of the wheels were badly merged and when I asked if these would be refurbished the answer was no. The car was due a full service and had full MDSH so I asked if this would be done by VW I was told no their own garage would oil service the car only, so breaking the full VAG history that they were keen to advertise... I thought garages like this no longer existed... Shame..

Went to look at a skoda vrs today. The rear boot spoiler was a different colour to the rest of the car. It was gold instead of silver. Asked the guys to paint it for me as it wasn't right and they argued with me that it wasn't standard. You need to do your homework boys if you don't know what spec a octivia vrs had out the factory. Lost a sale and very arrogant

Awful service. Jonathon (claimed to be the manager) was more interested in going home then serving me. Despite me ringing earlier didnt allow me to test drive. I wont be back. I would reccomend against if this is the attitude when selling i would hate to think of the aftersales service.

Bought my vw scirocco just under a month ago and its been perfect! Not only was the price keen, Jas managed to sort me out a very very competitive finance package!! I was under no pressure to make a quick decision, even though i knew i wanted the car it was my first big investment. Definitely will be going back in three years when i'm ready for a change!!

Motorline Direct may have a great selection of cars and be helpful in selling one to you, but that's where it stops. There is no after sales service. Despite paying £249.00 for a year of warranty, I was not supplied with any details of how this warranty works or what it includes. No biggie there as I have requested it to be sent. My big issue is that I had the car for ONE WEEK and the warning light for tyre pressure started flashing. No problem, check the tyre pressure and reset it (this is for a VW Polo) and it was fine for 5 days then started doing it again. Took it to Kwikfit yesterday where I sat for two hours (!!) while they checked all four tyres, the tracking and everything else they could think of - there were no problems. Reset the warning light again. Driving home and the warning light came on again. VW manual says in this instance it needs to be taken to a VW dealer. As of today (10/10/15) I have had the car only two weeks and it remains to be seen what kind of reception I will get this time when I phone Motorline Direct about the problem (considering yesterday I had the salesman put the phone down on me when I was trying to establish what I should do). I bought an expensive to me car (£7,500.00) and I had hoped that at least the service I would receive from Motorline Direct would be a little better. Clearly my hard earned cash and business means very little. Beyond disappointed and disillusioned, so much so I'm considering returning the car if I am met with more abrupt and rude people when I phone again.

AVOID this place at all costs. The 'salesman' who dealt with me was called Gary, if you get him.. He's an arrogant little s*** Went to look at a mk6 1.4 TSI golf.. Travelled all the way from Wigan, arrived with the intention to part exchange my car and was given an absolutely ridiculous price on the part exchange, then to my amazement the dealer wasn't willing to budge at all on the asking price. What makes it even better is that the car had a million scratches and dents and when I brought them up I was told I was stupid for thinking I could drive the car away the same day and would have to wait 5 days until the 'dentmaster' had been. Do not buy from these cowboys.

Had the worst sales experience ever - the guy (Jonathan) clearly didn't want to be there. We told him the price of a similar car we had seen nearby and he told us we "might as well go and buy the other car then". Massively unhelpful guy, questionable car quality, and no warranties. I get that he probably didn't love his job but hey, at least try, right?!
