I would give 0 stars if I could. Trying to reach out, but all lines are busy. I feel like they've disconnected their phones just not to answer customers. Extremely lazy and unprofessional.

I was calling for 2 weeks without any chance to speak to somebody from the embassy. I took a day off and went there to apply for my new passport. I was told that I need to have an appointment to be able to apply for a passport. I could finally speak with an employee on the phone today and was told that the earliest appointment I can get is in May 2017 and then there are 2 more months wait to receive it. I lived in several countries before to move to UK … I never faced a problem like this. It is ridicules that I need to travel to Bulgaria to just apply for a new passport. How is it possible to receive an appointment for after more than 6 months?

A lot an improvement has been done recently, fast service, friendly staff and simplicity of documents. If you read the website on the embassy and get there prepared, everything is done within minutes. The only thing is the opening hours . Hopefully they can improve in this area too:)

I've had to visit this place a few times in the last five years and I totally dread going. They've converted this beautiful building in Queens Gate into something that looks like a shabby 1970's dole office (some of the other embassies in this area are like palaces!). When I went this time three of the five counters had been closed so the queues were huge. The staff were moderately pleasant unlike my previous visits when they were surly and unhelpful. However the service was woefully inadequate and took almost 50 minutes to rubber stamp two sets of documents. She had no space to work in and quickly mixed up all the documents and got very flustered. The rubber stamps cost £364 - mindless Bulgarian bureaucracy at its best!

Brits are getting their docs online by post. Bulgarians must apply in person, loose a day and travel money and then loose another day and travel money and some nerves to collect the documents. Bulgarians in USA are different though, they are more like Brits. Why BG embassy in USA is way better than BG embassy in UK. If you answer correctly you will win a trip for two to Las Vegas.

They never answer the goddam phone, and if they do they are incredibly rude and unapologetic. I've never felt so humiliated in my life, having to wait for hours for somebody to pick the damn phone and after that to be cut off in 30 seconds for no goddamn reason whatsoever.

Staff who served me was very unprofessional, i had to wait for 1 and half hour to be served, the lady staff who attended to me was very unprofessional not friendly at all, kept disappearing to the back of the office attending to her private calls on her mobile phone, Not explaining to me what was going on. Had to sit on a small chair for more than 10 min for a photo to be taken, the lady kept fidgeting with the computer mouse, i am not sure if the old camera fixed on the screen was the problem or it was user problem. With all my paper work in order it took 1hour for the lady to possess before i was told all is ok. As a tourist i would not advise anyone to visit this embassy, the office opens at 9.30 and closes at 12 30 i would wonder how many persons can they attended to with this sort of service.

Having visited dozens of embassies in my life I can truly say this is the most disgusting place I have ever come across. Made to queue on the street outside in the rain, inside is a shabby disorganised room full of booths and surly, unhelpful officials at each one. (The doorman was the one exception here!) Avoid this place if you can, avoid Bulgaria if you can!

Terrible service. I've been on the phone on and off about 20 times today to ask a very simple question. The phones are either busy or no one picks up. I have a feeling it won't be much better if I go there in person.

I'm trying to contact with them on the landline number for the last three weeks! Every single time when I'm forward from the menu to speak with embassy about my son Bulgarian passport I can hear signal or two and after every time they are closing the line ????? I hate those people ! Useless ! My husband prefer to go back in his country to sort out everything always when he need something instead to try from London embassy ! Now I know why ! This is just ridiculous !

Absolutely abysmal and humiliating. I find this place an absolute joke for the following reasons. Firstly, the website is terrible. I cannot find useful information or find any links for application forms easily and the opening hours are not clear, information given on both the net and on the phone doesn't make sense or even match! Secondly, members of staff do not provide any advice, they talk over you and not let you finish your enquiry as well as not knowing any English which I find ridiculous being a Bulgarian institution located in the UK and not even having a translator. How is this acceptable or justifiable? Not all Bulgarians, let alone people from other nationalities, know Bulgarian fluently. To summarise, they have been unprofessional not only from the unwillingness to help people with simple enquiries such as trying to find a passport application but also having loud background noise from colleagues that sound like they are having a massive fight in a pub! Disgraceful.

We apply for a permanent passport for ma kid - Few weeks later we went to take it - and guess what ?! WRONG GENDER WRONG DATE OF BIRTH This morning I called ‘ the embassy in London ‘and the LADY on the phone was talking to me like is my MISTAKE lol ! This is them job to check double or may triple before they to something and pass it to us ( them customers ) - NOW we have to travel again 6 hours to London to renew the passport! Is that far enough?!

I was trying to contact on the phone with them just two weeks few times a day minimum 10 min waiting on the phone.... Nobody didn't pick up ! I went there from Manchester ! Attitude : discussing ! Help : from the staff ZERO ! Advice from them: we don't know go back in Bulgaria and ask there ? ! Basically place full with retards and people who don't care and don't know why are they over there ! My wife is Hungarian ! I could see what huge difference have between both of the places ! My son have Hungarian Passport already ! And he's still waiting for anyone to pick up the god damn phone to book an appointment because it's just rediculas to book online and wait few years ! Anyway he will survive without BG identity! If you want to visit Bulgaria don't go there just go to the embassy in london ! Absolutely the same without the gypsies !

Worst embassy I have ever been to. I went there 3 times in a week to get visa so that I could visit my girlfriend. Everytime I went there there was a long queue and the time to wait for the queue to finish was hours and hours of wait. 1st day I waited for more than an hour and when I was near the door. The security guard comes and say today it's not possible because time is running out and they stop services for visa at 1pm. I told him why he did not inform me earlier and he said he thought it would take long. Anyways he apologised and asked me to come next day. 2nd day I wen there early so I would not run out of time and waited in the long queue again. After 30mins security guy comes out so I asked him that it would not run out of time. And this time he said the lady who issues and signs visa is not in today. This made me feel the worse day of my life. I had never seen any unorganised and without any system in place. 3Rd day I went there early too. And had to wait there 1.30 mins for my turn. Inside I was dealt by a lady which had the worse customer service skills and sounded so rude. She said your documents is not sufficient and said to check what is in thier webite. I told her I came here 3 times already this week and wasted so many hours. And asked her if she could see my documents properly and suggest me what exactly I needed because I had check the website so many times and had every document I had on me. She was the worst person that I have ever seen that would deal to an guest. I donot know why she was so rude to me I felt neglected and speared just because I was an Asian man. I would suggest anyone visiting this embassy to plan ahead a lot. Think 3 times before you go there. Because they donot pick up the phone and don't reply to any emails either. They will just pass thier time and make you wait outside like a refugee trying to get a passport of thier country. I had the worst experience of my life. I have never seen any embassy that is so careless and has no system in place. Even embassies of countries from underdeveloped are better than the bulgarian embassy. I donot know how I am going to get a bulgarian visa.

I took a day off from work to come to london so I can prepare my baby son's documents.It's friday a quick search in google showed that embassy worked so I came to london. For my surprise on arrival there was a note "friday 31st embassy wont work" no explanation why or some hint. I undesrtand that is 21st century but there are people whom descided that there isn't any holiday so it should work. Today I loose one working day and money for my trip.. I will go back to my town so again money,time I won't mention how nervious I feel. I need to rearrange all my plans for them because THEY descided that it's a good day for rest. Great just great hope they have a good day

Awful service. You cannot contact anyone on the phone, no one answers the phones. When you get there, very long queues, awful service, long wait, unfriendly staff. The web site is not helpful as well, there is not enough information about the services and what is required. Overall it is very hard to work with these people.

Most ridiculous embassy in the world. My son need new passport and they give me appointment for after 6 months. If they are so busy, why they only work from 9:30 to 13:30? Even 1 star is too much for them, but there is no option for less.
