Been with them for years and now trying to increase my life cover, paying them more money, but they have been unresponsive. The email addresses provided on their site just bounce. Their opening times online don't actually reflect their opening times, so you sit on an expensive paid number, go through all the options only to be told they are closed. The only thing I've liked is the free coffee, although it's looking to be a rather expensive one

I wish I could give zero stars. I have been paying over £2000 pounds in policy fees so far and they are unable to book a basic GP video call !! their technology is below par, the support team call to cancel your appointments but are unable to make changes in the system on your behalf !! YOU have to do all the admin, wait again, find a needle in a haystack on a website that promotes Starbucks instead of health. what a waste of money, go somewhere else, they are not prepared to provide insurance services.

Heartbreaking to read so many bad reports of people suffering through the utter failure of Vitality. Every negative comment reflects my own experience. Have been stuck with them due to work. DO NOT CHOOSE VITALITY. Simple as that.

Lack of clarity about what is covered. No benefit whatsoever across a whole year so £700 was wasted. Took over a week get an appointment with a GP, then waited 40mins. Then had to pay £180 to speak to a consultant about something very trivial (as part of my access). Lots of technical glitches with points not being attributed. Huge waste of money.

I’ve had my family and business employees put onto the vitality Heath insurance thinking this would be good for us. Over the last few months 2 of my colleagues have their claims rejected and now my first ever claim (in 5 years of been a member) has been rejected as I used supermarket moisturiser on dry skin (apparently this is deemed to be a treatment and now is a pre existing condition). Even though I’ve never seen a doctor! I previously had cover with Bupa and the one time I needed it it was fantastic. After spending roughly 30k with this company I’m now paying to see a consultant outside of the cover. Do not put your family’s health in the hands of these con artists, go to a proper healthcare provider.

Denying coverage for chronic conditions and selling personal information. Bottom barrel 'health' insurance, if you want health care you best try an actual health insurance provider - You've been warned (snake) (snake)

From failing tech to misleading marketing to 'rewards' which cannot be claimed - this has been an ongoing, painful, time consuming and extremely expensive experience. Looking forward to the day where I am able to switch to another provider.

Please stay away from this company - happy to take your money every month but if any claim is made they won’t pay out - worst company ever

Wow, paying £3k per year through my company for whole family premium cover. Now regret moving from Bupa because I cant reach anyone on the phone. Other businesses have adapted and COVID happened a year ago so it's no excuse to blame that for answering the phone after 55 minutes and counting! Back to BUPA we go. Be warned

Excellent call from Iffy he was kind caring and considerate and certainly did not pressurise me to take out the Legacy Insurance I was inquiring about. He was very understanding and made me aware of what financial commitment was expected. Thank you

Very disappointed and cancelled my membership. You pay for healthcare insurance and the Vitality GPs direct you to use the NHS. Why am I paying for this?

This is not health insurance, it's basically a set of health-related perks with various level of relevance. Please be aware that if you sign up for collecting points to pay for your perks (like Prime), if Vitality is discontinued for no fault of your own you'll have to pay off the remaining value because they treat it as a LOAN. Misleading, shady, avoid.

Recently paid nearly £5000 for health cover with Vitality to include GP vitality online. This week tried to get an online appointment but "but no appointments available" for foreseeable future! When I spoke to Vitality they said they had no control over GP online. Vitality also used excuse that GP online busy due to Covid - Covid has been with us for 6 months! This should have been sorted by now. Vitality are misleading people and taking money by offering services they do not provide.

If you already struggle with anxiety or any mental health DO NOT GO WITH VITALITY! They will count it as an 'existing condition' and will not give you any help without paying a premium on what you're already paying. Cannot believe the response they gave to my partner. 2020 is the year where I think everyone has struggled mentally and Vitality's response is shocking. You would think private health care you would be able to get help when your already paying for it, apparently not. Will be pulling out. Very unprofessional!

DO NOT GET HEALTH INSURANCE WITH THIS SCAM COMPANY. Had to self fund the extra for over going over my outpatient cover in 2019 so renewed as unlimited for 2020. however they took the claim for treatment (in 2019) as 2020 due to invoice dates not treatment dates so new renewal is ridiculously priced even though I haven't had a claim in 2020. They also push you to go via Breast Health UK describing them as 'partners' and make you think its a free health check when its not and will be marked as aa claim also. & The rewards you never get and are a waste of time. DONT BOTHER MUCH BETTER INSURANCES OUT THERE FOR HALF THE PRICE

Don't believe the good reviews. In my experience these have to be orchestrated. Dreadful. Avoid. The benefits, which shrink every year are perhaps worth one star. Earning points automatically is ok (but the app falls over fairly regularly). When you try to add points manually the customer experience is painful - they take ages to reply, you get replies from different people with unclear cut and paste instructions - it's like it's been designed to be unpleasant. God forbid you actually have to claim for anything - they insist on proof in EXACTLY the format they demand and look for ANY reason to dismiss it. Insurance is supposed to give you peace of mind - I guarantee Vitality will only give you headaches and stress, and do their very best to avoid making good on their flashy promises.

Iffy @ Vitality was very personable and worked around my schedule to go through the policy questionnaire, including multiple call backs! His service is top-notch, and gives me no doubts about recommending them in the future.

I contacted Vitality after getting life insurance had been on my to do list for well over a year. I was lucky enough to speak with Chris Frank who talked me through both what i wanted, his recommendations including all the pros and cons etc. In the end i got the cover i wanted at below the price i was expecting to pay. Very professional service from Chris, he made the process simple and when he needed to contact me again he did so bang on time. I can recommend Chris enough, i will go back to him directly when my partner gets her cover. As for Vitality, its a household name and when it comes to a purchase like this i feel more assured going to a big name rather than saving a pound here and there on a company i’ve never heard of. All in all 5 star service.

Vitality provide a set of great and appealing perks that certainly motivate you to keep fit and active. Which are nice to have and appreciate this proactive approach to healthy well being, however when it comes what you really need out of private health provider, they are poor in terms of communicating the process clearly and with any sort of clarity. They delay the processing of claims, without proper communication and it feels like you need to follow up and chase them proactively to receive a response. One of my claims, has been delayed because I have been only registered with my current NHS GP for 3 years, and they require the same form to be completed by previous GP, due to their 5 year rule. It is ridiculous given that NHS system is centralized and all GPs have access to my notes!!

They delay the processing of claims, without proper communication and you need to follow up and chase them proactively to receive a response. The whole point of going with Vitality is to speed things up rather than use the overworked NHS. But vitlaity is far slower than the NHS and they just don't care.

They are very nice to “help you” till you submit the claim. Have been trying to claim for 4 months now, they keep finding excuse not to deal with the claim, constantly need to chase and see what is going on. Then they started saying since I have been in UK for less than 5 years, my claim probably will be rejected if i dont provide my health history - which never was mentioned when i spoke about the claim in first place. And I cant provide history from different country as I cant travel because of this pandemic. Their guide does not meet website build, any guidelines do not work, no visual of a claim what is going on. Very hard to do anything. If you try to collect points by taking care of yourself - very often those points ale lost. Dont see this health insurance as a benefit, more like a headache.

Prepare to get stung! A couple of consultations leading up to a double knee replacement that couldn't happen due to covid have pushed me to the policy anniversary and the premium has been increased by almost 50%!!! Assuming we don't have another lockdown, i have no choice but to pay to get the operation and aftercare. I could not use the scheme through lockdown for what i needed but still payed the premiums and have just been told, i had to do this to have continuity in the underwriting, so in other words, i paid for nothing not to cancel and then get an unaffordable quote for a new policy, so I paid £130 per month for the priviledge of keeping the policy, to now pay £190 per month to get what I need and what I was approved for. I asked the advisor to log this as a complaint and his offensive response was along the lines of, "my manager won't tell you anything different so best not waste your time"

AVOID! All promises, no delivery. More interested in selling Alexa / Apple Watch etc instead of delivering quality healthcare. They outsource the critical activity to the lowest cost operator (Alliance surgical / bluecrest / nuffield). Appalling experience and let down when we needed them most. Your money is better spent on a real provider like BUPA / AXA etc

I have life insurance for my wife and I, since September 2018. From the start, I have tried to show that my health and lifestyle are geared towards wellness. This was the basic premise for going Vitality over other insurers. Prove that you stay fit and healthy, then earn rewards and reduce your premiums. In reality, the system (driven by the app) fails dismally!! Not allowed to track workouts with Samsung devices. Supported device list is minimum and forces you to change your platform. Not flexible nor accommodating of customer needs! If their business model is built on the Discovery model from South Africa, then they have failed horribly. Definitely not customer centric!!

Very friendly and knowledgeable agents and staff. There was no pressure to join and the information provided at every step was clear and concise in everyday language. Made our choice of life insurance provider very easy. I would definitely recommend Vitality for life insurance. The added benefit of rewards for healthy activity is nice, as is the serious illness cover (way better than critical illness from most providers).

Had a pleasant experience dealing with Vitality. I looked online to get a quote for Life Insurance and couldn’t quite find what I wanted. I received a callback the next day and was helped by a very friendly and knowledgeable advisor who talked me through the options. There was no hard selling and I felt very comfortable discussing the options. Now that I’m signed up and using the benefits I am really enjoying the complete experience and it has already started to change my lifestyle and helping me be more active and healthy.

Shameful company for health insurance, I’ve been with WPA and Bupa and Vitality aren’t in the same league. They will do everything they can to avoid supporting you, all the tricks in the book. The app and website are appallingly bad. Their gp’s will never refer you (for obvious reasons) to specialists. Avoid if you can

Chris Frank from Vitality was very good today. I have been looking around for life insurance for some months now but I have Diabetes type 2 and have really struggled with the cost of some of the companies. I filled out an online enquiry and Chris called to go through it with me. Vitality have gave me the best price & benefits by a country mile. Im now signed up and hopefully my premiums will be coming down. Thanks Chris

Chris was great. He knew EVERYTHING about Vitality life insurance. He was very patient and understanding and he re-explained aspects of the cover that I wasn't quite sure of first time around. I received wonderful service. With my experience of Chris alone I'm glad that I moved to Vitality.

Really unhappy with Vitality. Been paying for years, I make one small claim and turns out I have to pay for it all myself and I don’t even get to chose consultant. They raised my fee without my consent, charged me £40 administration fee for leaving on top of it. Changed all the rewards, now it’s harder to get cinema codes, I cannot access prime c bc I’m self employed.... just not good.

Absolutely appalling service. Rang vitality twice, both times was promised that someone would ring me back but no one did. Had to chase this morning regarding my income protection policy. The advisor on the phone was patronising and unhelpful. Made it clear that the company care about saving money and not supporting customers during this difficult time. I would urge everyone to rethink their policy provider as vitality have shown no sensitivity or effort to help those in need.

Web site slow, can only connect a limited amount of devices to your account. This does not include any samsung products. Rubbish opening hours to be able to speak to customer services. I exercise daily, and am fit and healthy and this policy should be fantastic for me. However, because of their offer of limited partnership with tech companies I have received zero points for the last 3 years. I hoped that with time Vitality would have broadened their partners. I thought wrong.

Not worth the money. I thought that using private health insurance would make things easier but Vitality only makes things more complicated and confusing. I've used them for a few minor consultations so far and I've found that the Vitality GP app as well as their website are extremely slow, often malfunction and are generally very badly structured. Booking a face-to-face GP consultation has been a massive pain too as you have to create separate accounts for alternative GP websites, then log in, pay the full price, make a claim and hope that you get reimbursed. The only benefit is that you can book an appointment at a convenient time. Too many hoops to jump through imo when you can just walk into the nearest NHS clinic and get a free appointment and treatment. I'd stay away from them if I could. I'm surprised there are so many good reviews. Makes me wonder if they're paying for them or people are just too used to terrible overpriced services. Update: I’ve been with vitality for 5 months and upgraded my plan to a higher grade due to a call from one of their sales people 2 months ago. Last week they refused to pay for a referral claiming that I’ve only been with them for 2 months and that they don’t have anything on record from before that even though they’ve been pulling money from my bank account. This place is a mess. Definitely stay away.

Just joined up with the Life Insurance and Critical Illness cover from Vitality. I must say that Chris Frank from Vitality was very knowledgeable, patient and thorough. He explained everything in detail, provided his recommendations and even called me back the next day, which gave me time to think it over. Thank you for the smooth set up. Fantastic customer service!

Renewal premium quote went up by £10pm even though I exceeded targets on a regularly basis (platinum member) even with discounts being applied. Considering I am 31 now with no health conditions I thought the jump on price was unreasonable & very disappointing. Pros I gained an Apple Watch & regular Starbucks ☕️ pretty much free for 1 year. Perks are great, retention, fairly awful.
