Rejected business interruption despite my policy being valid and clearly stating We were covered. What a scam! And then doubled my renewal quote changing the conditions in the business interruption section! If it wasn’t covered then why change it on renewal?

Avoid. Refused to pay out on Business interruption policy, despite losing its case at the Supreme Court. Used a loop hole which involved the government not mandating a closure, this despite he fact in lockdown one, our business had to close. A Shocking moral compass......

Annoying time wasting quote process. Tried to get an online quote but having completed all the details it doesn’t give you a quote but then tells you to call their free phone number. You call go through all your details again, the agent then spends 20min on a sales pitch about how generous each element is etc etc. In the end after 30mins I got fed up and told him to just give me the quote , further stalling before an absolutely ridiculously excessive quote price given. Thanks for wasting 30mins of my life with your stupid tele sales technique .

Disgusted. Took out money from my account without asking me. The policy is not even mine. Policy holder has a different billing address. And the business is unwilling to refund me the money or to even speak to me in the phone as I'm not the policy holder. Thieves, stay well clear.of them. Sent 5 emails none came back with response. How much more richer will you get from stealing £240 from , goes to show the worth of the business. Stay away from these beggars they will steal your money and ignore you.

Shockingly incompetent! I submitted a claim over a year ago and am still waiting for works to be completed. The company they use to do building works are totally incompetent and have caused extensive damage to fixtures and furnishings in my house whilst attempting to redecorate. The customer service is dreadful and completely unprofessional.

Wow the automated voice assistant who guides you through to the right person just loves the sound of her own voice. Before Talking to anyone, I had literally 3 minutes of just the machine just telling me random facts about claims and how teams make money off you. Just put us through to the right people ASAP!

I wouldn't normally review an insurance provider, but from my limited experience as someone who is self-employed, Hiscox provides a good service and are easy to contact when anything needs changing on the policy. They have extended hours so you can contact them outside of normal working hours and they talk it through with you without using jargon or judging you. They're a recognised company and their prices seem reasonable. I haven't had experience of making a claim but they seem to have a quick turnaround so I have no doubt they would be helpful.

I am a long-term, loyal customer and just received a renewal quote for building and contents insurance. Premium has gone up from £524 to £837, so an increase of 60% having made no claims in the past year. Rang them to investigate and they gave me some flannel along the lines that they’ve recalibrated the way they assess properties for premium calculation purposes and this is what they’ve come up with. It either suggests they were getting it seriously wrong under their old method, or it’s the usual story of screwing the loyal customer in favour of picking up new customers by offering (initially) attractive premiums. It’s a real shame as, whilst they were never the cheapest in terms of premium, they were generally good to deal with and helpful on the rare occasions I had to deal with them. Now it’s plain they are just as greedy and money grabbing as the rest.

Same story as David Winston's happened to me. I received a letter from Hiscox in the post saying that my home insurance policy premium will go up from £581 (last year) to £907 (this year). This a whopping 56% increase in insurance premium in one year alone and an utter insult to a long loyal customer who for many, many years held both business and home insurances with Hiscox. I will now transfer all my insurance policies to a different provider. I will not recommend using Hiscox in the future.

Ridiculously overpriced and slow customer support, After one full year with no claim bonus I asked for a decrease but as response they decided to increase my premium for no reason whatsoever. I cancelled after paying every month in advance and their “refund policy” results in me having to pay them more for a period of time I’m not covered. WOW! Never again!!!!
