Shocking to be honest. All the promises upon sign up and good cover opted for. First claim comes, no previous health problems for my dog. Claim rejected. Go with Petplan guys. A few £'s extra a month but you will be covered with them. AVOID WAGGEL AT ALL COSTS. I learnt the hard way! Thanks for the reply and the excuse. I had no idea of a hernia problem when we had taken out the policy. This is an example of dishonest insurance companies using any small print or laws in their favour not to pay out. Waggel exclaims to be fair and different. No reasonable adjustments to exemptional circumstances. No looking after their customers. Why bother with insurance when it is not there when you need it hey.

Initially, I was very excited to have joined the Waggel family and recommended them to everyone I knew. However my excitement quickly turned into disappointment as I spoke to one of their representatives over the phone at the start of our insurance subscription and explained that my dog had his first seizure within the cool-off period to which they replied "submit a claim and we will try our best to help you", so I did and I waited a very long time to receive a response. They eventually declined my claim, which in a way was expected as it was in the cool-off period, however, because I had spoken to someone on the phone prior to submitting and they sounded as though they would be willing to help, I was a little hopeful. Anyway, after visiting a number of vets and paying for the same blood works (all came back clear so we cannot be sure whether it is epilepsy until seen by a neurologist) to be completed in order to establish whether it was epilepsy or just toxicity which caused my dogs seizure, I asked whether they would at least be willing to help by covering the MRI/neurologist fees so that we don't have to pump our dog with Phenobarbital (epilepsy medication which is very expensive and strong and has HORRIBLE side effects on my dog), if he isn't in fact epileptic. I strongly believe my dog is not epileptic as he has had no further seizures after the first episode which happened when he ate something toxic. Again, I had to wait a very long time to receive a response and had to chase it up myself. Eventually, they again declined to help. Therefore meaning, I have no choice but to continue giving my dog this horrible medication for the rest of his life and watch him endure the side effects as I cannot afford an MRI scan myself. I completely understand that there is a cooling off period, and if my dog CERTAINLY had epilepsy then I would not be asking for any help. The vets that saw him are not even certain whether it is epilepsy and purely assumed so as that is the easiest thing to do. I am certain my dog is not epileptic however my vet is making me give him this medication unless a neurologists says he is not epileptic. All that I ask for is for an MRI, I do not want any money back for the blood test or for the medication, I just want to make sure that my dog is not taking this medication just for the sake of it as it really is damaging to him, his liver and has horrible side effects on his back legs, makes him extremely thirsty at all times, and he's sleeping for over 18 hours a day. He is only 1 year and 4 months and I don't believe it's fair on him. I think he deserves to have an MRI so that we can be sure and can either stop the medication or continue it knowing that he genuinely needs it. It's very disappointing that they cannot help, especially when a representative said on the phone that an exception can potentially be made. I feel very let down, and hope to find an insurer soon which will cover pre-existing conditions so that I can change to them and have my dog properly cared for.

After reading the answer to my comment I had no other choice as to change my review to positive one - those guys really care and make insuring your pet more personal than other insurers. They maybe need some extra work on their pricing to be more competitive. Please read the policy documents to ensure the exclusions in the cover are suitable for your needs. Good luck with your start up Ross

????Moved to London in August and did a lot of research on what would be the best company to go with and decided on Waggel. BEST DECISION!!???? Appreciated the easy process for a claim, perks and discounts with other partners but most importantly, the care and quick responses that were thorough to our questions. Highly recommend!!????

Waggle came highly recommended and thus far the registration process has been brilliant. However, I would like to make people aware of the following situation I found myself in with in making my first claim for my rescue dog Bentley. I rescued Bentley on Friday 24th July 2020. I was given his medical records showing he had a clean bill of health. I took out pet insurance with Waggle 28th July 2020 and arranged his first vet appointment at Goddards Veterinary Hospital for the 6th August 2020. On that appointment they found that Bentley had a claw problem and would require an operation. As I did not have 14 days between the start date of insurance and first vet appointment my claim was refused. Clearly what I should have done was firstly get pet insurance and wait 14 days before taking Bentley to his first vet check up.. Just wanted to make people aware so as not make the same mistake. Many people have asked me what insurance company I use for my dog and I have no hesitation recommending Waggel. I actually HIGHLY recommend them. They are a newer company who put in the extra care and attention that any dog owner needs. They also cover dental and behavioral support!! YAY!! :)

Really easy quote process & simple to understand. Not the cheapest but has comprehensive cover and not trying to trick you either. Will definitely be insuring my dog & recommending to others.

Just read appalling story on local social media site about these insurers refusing to pay for cruciate ligament insurance . The reasons are spurious at best Very sad. Best avoid and stick to a Which recommended insurer and avoid these unknowns

I have been looking for a good insurance for my old dogs ( 9 & 13 years old). Other insurer's policies were so complicated it put me off from registering. Price wise it's not any better than the other older dog insurance but I like that it was easy to comprehend and quick and easy to register.

When I was looking to renew my insurance for my Newfie I was really put off by the well known companies so looked a bit further and found Waggel online. I found the website clear and uncomplicated and received an instant quote that was really competitive and covered my needs. It really was easy and so far so good.

I signed up to waggel for my new rescue pup after comparing lots of different insurers. Not only were the prices competitive, but they also offered dental cover! No others that I looked at did. The website and sign up process was one of the best I’ve used in terms of User experience and design. It’s really easy to follow and looks great too - plus the discounts and offers available to policy holders are a real added benefit. I haven’t had experience making a claim yet, as I’ve only been with them a week, but so far so good!

I intially tried Waggel because they support Dogs on the Streets charity, being one of the early customers I had a discount and to be honest was expecting a big increase in the second years premium. How wrong was I?!! Although I had a claim in the first year, my renewal was a pleasant suprise, no nasty, excessive increase and the claim was dealt with very quickly, unlike insurance companies I have been with in the previous 20 years. Do give Waggel a try, you won't regret it.

No contact number listed and the chat option always busy with no one available. Didn't inspire confidence so went elsewhere.
