If you’re a student, there are agencies that treat you better. I have been in Brighton 5 years with 5 different student agencies and Q estate agency is the worst one. The level of communication between them with themselves and our house is poor (Even before Covid-19). All 5 years my deposit in other locations have been handed in less than a week after moving out. Q agents still haven’t returned any deposit, 2 weeks + just because of their communication within their own establishment. We only know because WE have to keep calling them everyday and emailing and always get told a different story or that they forgot to tell someone to do it. The lack of communication is what makes them unprofessional and come across worse.

They've given us great advice throughout, especially during lockdown when everything was up in the air from mortgages to chains. We found them so helpful that we decided to also rent out our flat through them. Their packages are very reasonable and offer alot of support in all aspects.

I bought my home through Q a few years ago and found it a really stressful experience. Whilst they got the job done, I found their customer service lacking. They were quite aggressive and rude - at least the guy we dealt with who i think was called James. He was frustrated with us because we were cautious first time buyers and wanted to ensure everything was done properly (such as getting confirmation that an RSJ had been put in after the removal of a supporting wall), which he took as us intentionally holding up the process (which we had no reason to do). We also felt they were a little sexist in tending to only deal with my boyfriend. I felt that they made our first home-buying experience quite unpleasant unfortunately. I can see they have lots of other good reviews, so maybe it was just a personality clash. I imagine they're good for sellers, but weren't so good for us as buyers, although they did leave us a bottle of red on completion, so that was nice and i enjoyed it very much.

Q were fantastic at handling the sale of our property. They were always friendly, professional, happy to answer any questions about both our sale and prospective purchase (which they had no link to). The listing they put together for our property was excellent, with really nice photos and they really did all they could for us at all stages. They are not at all pushy, and I felt I could really trust them and their advice, something that certainly can't be said for all estate agents! They were unlike other estate agents in that they were always entirely personable, approachable, pragmatic and throughout it all - utterly professional. Our tenants were always informed and kept up to date on viewings and Q Estate kept their promise in keeping disruption to an absolute minimum. James provided us with sound advice in getting the legalities / required paperwork together before we put our property on the market which meant that when it came to selling, it was a smooth process and only took 6 weeks! AND we sold above the asking price! We can't recommend them highly enough!

If you want to sell your property, then use "Q" and TAKE THEIR ADVISE! They are incredible! During these times of unchartered territory and uncertainty we were full of doubt and questioned their decisions. If we hadn't used "Q" before we admit that we may have disagreed with their advise, as selling your home is a huge undertaking, and we were anxious. Despite the challenges of 2020, "Q" Sold our house for more than the asking price (AGAIN, second move with them). Professional, tight, and friendly small team; with an astounding knowledge of the everchanging moods of the market and their clients. They have certainly not gone rusty since we last used them in 2014. We simply can not recommend "Q" highly enough. Listen to them and you will have an easy and successful house selling experience. They are the benchmark of five stars.

Q Estate Agents sold my home in East Sussex in 2019. From start to finish, the team were thorough, professional and friendly. The sale itself was not without problems due to prospective purchasers who presented a number of problems along the way, but eventually a buyer was found and the sale secured. John, the negotiator was charming and helpful when showing people around and I had no qualms at all about leaving him with a key to the property for viewings. I found the experience difficult because I was moving from a much loved family home, but Q offered to do accompanied viewings, despite the distance from their offices; this meant I was spared the trauma of dealing with people looking over my home, a prospect which I found quite hard to deal with. Both Jim and James were sympathetic and gently guided me through the process, recognising how hard I was finding the whole thing. I can thoroughly recommend this practice and would have no hesitation in putting their names forward to anyone looking to buy or sell their home.

Always next day helping you out, feel very confident renting from them. We sold our 'hard to sell' house within weeks with Q. James went above and beyond in his role as our agent. I felt they were very transparent, trustworthy and I valued their opinions when decisions needed to be made. Q offer a service where you feel they treat customers as individuals according to their circumstances. We had a very tight deadline to work to, but they promised anything was possible if we wanted and indeed it was! These guys give estate agents a GOOD name!

I had an offer accepted on a flat on the basis it was taken off the market. The following day Q took other buyers around, informed me a higher offer had been made, and wanted ‘highest bids’ to be made. Really unpleasant thing to do to someone - I hope no one loses money because of their poor values.
On a positive, for Q money reigns so if you are selling you can ensure you get the best price.

I purchased a property listed with Q in Autumn 2016. There were some legal hurdles to jump which meant the conveyancing process was a little lengthier than usual.

They were always very professional and a pleasure to deal with.
Realistic and honest advice. Always available to talk through our options when we had a particularly difficult buyer. They worked extremely hard to keep all links of our complex chain in place (doing a lot of the work that other buyers solicitors and estate agents should have been doing). I really believe that we wouldn’t have been able to move house if we had gone with another estate agent.
