I went there to apply for a visa having all the documents they said they need on the website, until I made all the way to the embassy they took out a checklist and said you need to come back without even an explaination of why the information is completely different from the website. This is the worst embassy I have ever been to and definitely would try avoid it if possible

You must understand Thai people do not like foreigners... They think they are more superior than you..

Appalling customer service, shockingly rude, unhelpful and unwilling to explain and resolve queries. Although there are some positive reviews, by and far they are from Thai natives. Perhaps they have an intense dislike for foreigners and a total disregard for the Amazing Thailand image.

Thai embassy London - visa application. My non EU wife requires a tourist visa for an upcoming holiday to Koh Samui. As I can work in central London decided to go up there today in person with her application and passport to submit. All I can say, the service is non existent. You are requested to take a ticket and wait your turn at a single counter #4. Unfortunately the system is let down by the fact the counter is unstaffed. I waited 50 minutes then got up and left in disgust. I will be posting her application by recorded post now. All I can say if I had not already booked and paid for a holiday to Thailand I would not be bothering. There are far nicer places in the world to visit on holiday as this service seems to reflect others reflected experiences of Thailand. My advice is don't bother going in person unless you are prepared to arrive at 9:00am and wait until they close, hopefully by then they will have seen you. If not, don't be surprised if they ask you to come back next day, as now closed and they turn around and walk off behind a closed door.

I am so pleased for the boys who have been rescued, tinged with sadness at the loss of a diver. Many prayers for the Thai people have been answered.

Always had a good experience whilst visiting with my wife. Staff are friendly, after all they are from Thailand. Have experienced misunderstandings whilst using the phone service, but in person the experience has been efficient and got the desired result.

My wife had an appointment today to get a new ID card. She had let this lapse and it was 10 yrs out of date. When she tried to renew in Chonburi in Thailand 3 yrs ago the women was very annoyed with my wife for having not had it renewed earlier and told her she couldn't help her, she was very dismissive. Unlike today at the Thai embassy in London where she was in and out in 30 mins with her new id card and she also got her Passport renewal done. Very helpful staff. She was also 30 mins early but as it wasn't too busy they saw her right away.

21/11/16.What a joke !. Counter 4 was late by 20 mins, she was rude (which I found unusual for a thai )and robotic . She didn't even acknowledge us as she rifled through our papers except to bark out £25 please! (Wow...a please !) Actually were quite lucky as we were the 1st people in the queue to be dealt with individually but then it went downhill rapidly for the rest. Instead of seeing them in numerical order she just asked for everyone to come to the counter en masse. Paperwork gathered, she returned with the visas after 20 mins or so , called the names out dumped them on the counter and sodded off.... Cheers ! Even her coworker looked at her as if to say , she's not with me! Honestly , Thai embassy we are putting money into your economy, please treat us with a bit of respect and not as a disease. !

Caters almost exclusively for Thais'- eg wanting to renew passports, serking visa advice and other consular services. If you are non-Thai or want a simple service such as legalisation, you are made to wait until all Thais' in the queue are processed which can take between one and two hours. My experience is as follows. I required the Thai consulate to add a legalization stamp to an already UK FCO notarised document. In order to verify if the FCO stamp was acceptable and to understand what else they might need, I called the London embassy/consulate for 2 days (4 hours solid) and did not even get through to a single person. I called the consulate in Hull and they advised that they too 'never got through' to the London consulate. As my time in the UK was limited I made my way to the London consulate and arrived at 7.00am and was first in the queue. It was cold and wet waiting outside but I was comforted in the knowledge that I was first in line. Just before 9.00 we were allowed into the consulate and I was directed to take a 'legalization' ticket from the automatic machine. I should have realised that ticket 400 was not going to get priority - the Thais get tickets starting 000 and other services such as visas start at 200. There may be others. At 9.10 one of the service windows opened and sure enough, despite being first in line, all of the other ticket types were called. At 9.40 I queried with one of the people serving, why I had not been attended to. The answer was that legalisation is not a priority and they would be serving ALL of the other pending tickets before the 400 series. At 10.20 I approached the counter again to question the length of time that I had to wait. At 10.50, my number was called and it took all of 5 seconds to leave my document and pay the fee. I was told to collect in 4 days time - I will post as to how that experience goes:) Quite why it takes 4 days when visas only take 3 days, I do not know. My message to those persons wanting a simple legalisation service - there is no point in getting there early, it will take you between one and two hours to be seen, on top of the period that you waited outside in the cold. My question to the consulate, why do you not simply adopt a first come first serviced policy as is in place at other Thai consulates? It would be the fairest way. Oh, and why do you never answer the phone?

Absolutely shocking disappointing and unprofessional! Went to apply two transit visa as my return flights connect to there but first application got rejected saying docs were not complete??!! I explained that I followed the instruction on their website then I was told the policy changed so I was given a piece of paper to follow! I held my temper and went back to get all necessary docs prepared. Re-applied the second day then was told by another staff saying they cannot issue two transit visa by one go but I can just apply both of them at arrival??!! I don't need to be told that I can apply at arrival, the whole point of applying there in advance is to avoid the queueing and getting everything prepared before I travel. But why can't embassy official * 1 ensure your website is up to date as hounders of people relying on your official information? *2 be informative and responsible instead of issuing confusing/misleading application forms offering multiple visa options but then told us not possible at application ?? *3 only accept cash??? Should we refer you to tax evasion in the UK???

Very rude unhelpful staff. The best way to prepare yourself for a visit here is to expect the worst and then at least you won't be surprised.

I have been trying to call and email about tourist visa information. Had a look on their website and couldn't find any info. No response and I can't speak to any person. During today's phone call, after a 20 minute wait someone just hung up on me. This is the third time this happens.
