Visited the store a few weeks back. I saw a young man called Rhys. He was extremely knowledgeable and was honest in helping me select frames and discuss lens options for me. Went for non reflective lenses because I'm driving and working on screens a lot. Would recommend this branch highly. What was really nice was that the manager 'Nana' sorry if spelt incorrectly even came and thanked me following my fitting of the eye glasses. I felt that was really warm and sincere. Obviously 2 people who really care and are passionate about their business. Must be a culture from the top! Keep up the hard work guys. Will see you next year!

Before booking your appointment here, read through the below reviews and tell me it isn't suspicious that almost ALL of the positive reviews are from people who have only posted one review on Google ever AND they know the assistant manager by name. Whoever Rhys is, he's got a lot of friends... EDIT: It appears I cannot reply to the below comment. I have repeatedly filled in forms on the bit.ly link that is touted on all the negative reviews below, and yet no action seems to have occurred. Clearly more of a reputation management tactic than a real feedback drive.

I came in with an inquiry about some glasses. Sumaya was a great help in choosing the frames and helping me decide what went best with my face shape. Without her help I would not have even considered the frames i purchased. All round friendly and efficient service. Will be back soon and I recommend going.

Isaiah was amazing - he went above and beyond, finding lots of different possible pairs and asking other specsavers staff for second opinions to make sure I got glasses I was happy with. :) Person who did my test was also super friendly and great.

So Specsavers is a franchise. Meaning you can get a great experience in some places, but it's not guaranteed. Let me tell you that whoever runs this store doesn't care one bit about good service, just saving money. Only at this Specsavers could I have had an optometrist argue with me (she actually told me flat out "you are wrong" 5 times!) about which contact lenses I had been trialling for a week. I was not wrong, she hasn't read the list on her screen properly. Only at this Specsavers would someone laugh at me when I told them how uncomfortable the lenses were and say "you'll get used to them". I didn't. Only at this Specsavers would I be forced to insert contact lenses for a check up in some weird back room, full of junk on every surface, with a dodgy sounding water supply - and despite having never tried toric lenses before, never ever be told how to insert them or what the differences are before trying them. And to cap it off, only at this Specsavers could an older male optometrist have been so belittling and patronising - trying to mansplain my own experience wearing contact lenses back to me. Needless to say that I am definitely the best person to speak about that... I am quite frankly never going again. The Vision Express in Lewisham is always far more accommodating and friendly.

When I arrived in the store staff made me feel welcomed, Stella done my eye test for me and she was brilliant, my glasses were done perfectly, good customer service, the man Isaiah has been exceptional, top young man, friendly and engaging, need more young people like him working here!

Customer service was quite nice... not a lot of selection of glasses. I went for my eye checkup with the online free eye test voucher but staffs were unaware of the free vouchers being provided online... they almost made me pay even though booking were made online for free eye test.. eventually managed to show the voucher in my phone, after abit of struggle, they managed to sort the things out for me. Finally I was stress free .

I was originally trying to find specsavers in Watford, but I was so blind before I got my prescription I got the wrong train and ended up in Surrey quays... needless to say my eyes have been opened. The service was fantastic from start to finish. Special shout to my boy the assistant manager. Couldn’t of done it without you. Might not have found my way home without my new specs. Mad ratings.

The worse experience in London ever. My wife and I got glasses from there ...hers came out with wrong prescription * we went to 2 different opticians to double check * back at the store to say her vision was blurry with her new glasses got told she would get use to it in a week or so ...excuse me ? Rescheduled a appointment for re-checking her vision again on the day of the appointment they couldn't find her in the system, .at this point, up and down for the 5th time and we requested a refund .... refunded denied cos only the manager can provide and he only works certain days of the week and can't be done over the phone ! "came Wednesday or Thursday" for a 6th time !... excuse me ? People got life /work/kids we can't get messed up like that for god's sake ....minor details brand new 250£ glasses came with scratches. Few members of staff extremely rude and intimidating. Avoid this branch we had a lovely branch in Holloway moved to East London last year . That's why went in this place . Avoid avoid stay away.

DON'T GO THERE FOR YOUR EYE TEST!! It was very poorly conducted, and the prescription was just completely wrong. I bought my glasses from David Clulow and eventually had to do another eye test with them. They were so much more professional and the results they got were COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from Specsavers'! I should have just gone there in the 1st place...

Shop staff are very helpful and caring and take there time with you. Especially children they have all the time for them, so that they are happy with there glasses. The only downside it the security guy is rude and miserable.

They weren't happy when I presented one of the vouchers as payment for prescription and warned that put glasses on a frame which was not theirs will not cover the warranty. Miraculous the cable temples fell off shortly after glasses where done without reason. I requested the prescription to get my reading glasses done elsewhere but they did not add it the reading prescription on the card, so when I send to re glazed online is when I found out. The second par free is actually a rip off! I you insist on one pair only they will take off at least £70.

When I came to the Surrey quays specsavers I felt welcomed, staffs were very helpful, staff explained prices, Isaiah was great and helped pick some nice frames, lovely gentlemen and I was very happy with the service, you need more staff like Isaiah! Handsome young man

I almost didn't go here because of the bad reviews. I just want to say that everything was perfect: very polite and helpful staff. The glasses were ready in one week and now I'll have a one week free contact lenses trial. I would like to thank the Specsavers staff for helping me find the perfect option to improve my vision.

Would give no stars if possible. No explanation of prescription so specs (£149) are worse then those I got on £2.99 on ebay. Lens been changed twice, now told that if they are changed again will affect long sight vision??? Waste of time and money and feel completely fobbed off re "free contacts ". Avoid these fraudsters

I waited for ages for them to call me to let me know that my Sons glasses were ready. They didn't call. Then they put the wrong lenses into the wrong frames. They said they would call when the problem had been rectified. I'm still waiting..... that was over three weeks ago. Not impressed at all

The staff tried to overcharge me for lenses, even though advertisement for the discount was pasted all over the shop. I went to another Specsavers branch and got the same pair of glasses for much cheaper. Don't waste your time and money at this shop

Absolutely rubbish service. So my frame broke after a couple months from purchase at this branch, so I even took the time to bring them in for potential replacement or repair... Sure replacement for full price and also had the nerve to offer 2 for 1 glasses. Time to move on from this branch. Highly not recommended.

Very disappointed the staff foold me about the lenses and they or only interested in getting the money from me but didn't care about what I was interested in and I end up paying 150 £ for a very bad quality lenses that I asked to be thin 1.74 but the final product was a pair of glasses that were very heavy and very thick lenses....

The eye test was quick and efficient and the lady who spent time making sure the fit was correct did a good job. The problem with this store however lies with the poor customer service once you leave the store and await your glasses arrival. I turned up for collection at the allotted time only to be told they hadn't arrived yet. No phone call. I was told I would be phoned when they arrived. You've guessed it, no phone call. I phoned them two weeks later only to be told they had arrived 9 days ago. I wonder how long they would have sat there if I hadn't done their job for them? Poor specsavers, very poor indeed.

I want to thank Odysseia for her really personable service. She was caring, genuine and easy to speak to. I felt welcomed by her as she noticed me on my own, she answered my questions well and I felt safe and trusted her with my glasses which can be really personal to someone. I came back to her when I collected my glasses and that was amazing too, really happy. The third time I came back to her it was due to the plastic nose rest hurting my nose which is not due to Specsavers or the quality of their glasses. She was understanding and helped to heat the plastic to alter it for my nose. She even went the extra mile to find out stores with silicone pads as their branch had no more left, this was to stick onto the plastic nose rest (I never even knew these existed as the when I asked someone at the Lewisham branch regarding nose pads to be attached to it, he told me they do not do they but he certainly could have told me they have a service that applies silicone nose pads). She just tried her best to find out any more solutions for me, so I really want her efforts to be noticed and thanked for. She is an asset to the company as some members in the Lewisham branch are not so helpful and quite rude.

Sadly I had to give a star to leave a review, it certainly doesn't deserve any, but on going into this store today to buy a new frame and on asking a tall slim black lady for assistance as I had the lenses with me and my broken frame I was given a pointing finger to go and find a frame myself, I asked if she could help me find one that fits the lens I had to then be totally ignored and left to get on with it, having my disabled mum with me I didnt have the time to be going though every frame myself to find one that fitted the lenses I had and a little assistance would have been welcomed, clearly this store did not want my money and after the disgusting treatment I certainly wasn't going to give it them, we walked out and would not recommend this store to anyone who may need help finding a frame
