The practice handled my case promptly and efficiently. I was able to get an appt the day before and was seen right on time. Dr Gerlis handled my visit and sent follow-up emails to provide updates and check-in on my status.

I find Samedaydoctor to be extremely helpful, flexible, courteous, and of course, professional. Highly recommended to busy people who may have hectic days and need to see a doctor at a time which suits them.

My appointment at the central London venue was actually very good. Dr. Gill spent time going through my symptoms and did a blood test which was painless. However, once I got my results back there were a few fields in my report which were highlighted in yellow. I recieved a very short email along with my results stating ‘carry on taking the anti bitoics’ prescribed and NO guidance whatsoever on the blood parameters which were either high or low. I then rang same day doctor and asked to speak to a doctor who could help me understand why certain fields were marked in yellow and whether there was anything I could do about things. I received a call back from Dr. Gerlis which lasted 50 seconds - all I was told was that I have a chest infection and to continue taking the meds. When I asked why certain fields were marked in yellow (e.g iron was low, cholesterol was high, and a bunch of other parameters were off), I was told ‘that’s nothing’. Dr. Gerlis was abrupt and seemed like my call was a huge bother.I paid £450 for the service (I’m not covered by insurance mind you) so the least I would expect is some guidance on my blood report. Appreciate it might not directly be linked to my immediate condition but if the doctor that I met ordered a comprehensive blood test I’d expect some guidance on the results! Really disappointed given I’ve been here twice now.

Reception staff were very kind and professional, i was grateful to get an appointment on a bank holiday. But i found Dr L Gerlis to be quite rude and unhelpful in his tone and attitude, my very presence seemed to antagonise him. I suffer from chronic pain caused by Cervical Spondylosis and manage symptoms through intermittent use of co-codamol (30/500) whilst I seek further treatment via secondary care pain management specialists. I'm having to fly off due to a family emergency and could not get hold of my NHS GP due to the bank holiday, so on the recommendation of a friend i decided to go to a private GP with my medical notes/history to get a prescription to cover me whilst i am away. I had made all these details crystal clear to the receptionist before booking my appt. At the consultation far from being helpful or even trying to understand my medical history i detected a tone of cynicism and it seemed the Dr was more interested in getting me out of the door asap, he didn't even bother reading my medical/diagnosis letters! After hearing an anecdote about drug seeking behaviour and addiction i bit my lip for the sake of getting the prescription, I informed him i’d be grateful for anything he could give and then i could at least try to make some arrangements abroad. However, it then transpired that the script he had written out was for the same strength/dose that is available OTC at any pharmacy (8/500), why on earth would I pay private consultation fees for something i can get over the counter for a fraction of the price? (Surely the Dr knew this as well, and his failure to disclose this is very disappointing now that I think about it). When i pointed this out to the Dr it seemed to antagonise him further and he flat out refused to prescribe the dose that i usually take, on the basis that he was not willing to provide 'addictive medication' (why prescribe 8/500 in the first place if that is the case!). In the end he at least had the decency not to charge me for the rushed consultation, and the receptionist seemed apologetic for the miscommunication and wasted journey. I ended up going to an NHS walk in clinic in Central London, where the medic showed much more empathy and genuine concern for my condition and had no qualms writing out the prescription but did highlight the long term risks around opiate use. This is the first and last time I will be using a private GP, the experience was very unpleasant and I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone. I read afterwards that the very same Dr prides himself and is well known for providing his services to the rich and famous......two qualities that I was clearly lacking.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this private clinic. I had an issue with a common STI and I was slackly diagnosed with a disease with just a brief examination. I was told to start a treatment method called "cryptotheraphy" which is a freezing method that works on the infected/rashy area. As it is an expensive and weekly therapy, I took on the treatment by visiting the clinic for 3 times (3 weeks). However, my symptoms got worse when they were supposed to get better, very shortly after, I spotted a severe discharge in my genital area and went to the clinic again, and then the GP/nurse there immediately said that it could have been something else and did a genital swab test, which then revealed that I had actually a much more easily-treatable STI but just because I was diagnosed very quickly I had to waste so much money for my misdiagnosis. I definitely do acknowledge that the staff is lovely (especially the lady nurse) however it is disappointing that they fail at offering the true treatment. My advice for everyone who are going there to get STI checks, inquire genital swab or blood test (basically whatever your symptoms require) and then get on with treatment if needed. I kinda regret being to panicked back then and I was a little blinded by my anxiety and said yes to everything I was charged for. If only I had gone to a GUM clinic first (which are free) and then saw what was happening. On the plus side, they are very prompt on offering medication once you are certainly diagnosed. And it's good that they are open 7 days a week.
