I read the reviews, and was expecting poor service as I entered the busy shop on a Saturday afternoon. After about a minute or two was engaged by a member of staff, who really took the time to ensure my fit in the shoes was perfect, with numerous trips to get a different sizes, and encouraging me to spend time to experience the shoes in the shop.
One of the best customer service experiences I have had for shoes.

I'm really keen to get in to the vivobarefoot thing but want to do it properly rather than buy online so I made a special trip to 7 dials to visit the shop with the intention of trying on several styles as I want them for different activities but the shop was chaos - difficult to tell staff from customers and it seems they only had 2 staff to deal with a shop full of people - I got fed up with waiting so found a pair of boots in my size (according to the online size guide) and they were too big so tried find some display shoes in the next size down but no joy - in all this time not once did a staff member even acknowledge my existence so I left completely dissatisfied by the whole experience.
I love your concept but please back it up with a decent customer experience!!

FUTURISTIC SHOW
I love the brand and the shoes, however....
I cannot tell you how many times I have called the shop and not once has my call been answered. Seriously over the years I've called to ask about stock or sales and it has NEVER been answered. I am a size 8 which they often don't have, hence my trying to call. When I go to the shop and ask to try a few styles on it's annoying to find I might only be able to try 1 pair on as a result. I am then ironically often told to call and ask or come back in a couple of days 'as they are getting a delivery'. On this note, I have visited the store on different days of the week over the years and have always seemingly missed out, with a delivery just a couple of days away. Might I suggest stocking more size 8's? Seems they would get the sales if they had more....
As for the staff personally I've had mixed experiences. For a stand alone store representing a fantastic niche brand I feel the staff need to be very knowledgable about the brand and pretty clued up about the whole barefoot thing. Sometimes the staff are, sometimes they really aren't. Recently I asked a shop assistant if they still do discount on a new pair of shoes if you trade in an old pair and she didn't seem to have heard of the policy, and so I do not know for certain if they still do it. I tried to call the shop the next day and find out and guess what? 3 different calls, different points of the day, never answered.
As a personal trainer using their shoes all the time and having owned maybe 9 pairs over the years it is a shame that only twice I have ended up buying from the shop. I recommend my clients their shoes all the time, and tell them its best to shop on their website.
I know this is sounding very negative compared to many recent 5 star reviews so I wanted to say the shop is still well worth a visit if you're interested in Vivo. It is lovely and I love the shoes. I just hope you don't have an overly popular shoe size and that you get chatting to the right assistant.

Worst customer service ever. Had done research online and went in to try on hiking boots with an eye to purchasing. Ignored by most of staff and zero interest in trying to help me by the staff member who reluctantly served me. Beyond poor.

Terrible customer experience. The manager on today had a lot of attitude sunday i when in to shop to buy some new barefoot ask for size 9 and did not have them in stock and went in the shop about 10 weeks to same we don't have them in stock at price of £140 pr was not happy the staff did not know when they have them in stock a size 9 ??? what so lady said to me go online to buy i will not were them any more bad bad bad shop don't shop in there no price on any of shoes shop was shoes 2 paears was at £140 and on line they are £100 so bad

Great shoes but terrible shop service. Never have popular sizes and staff is so rude, rushed, tired and unfriendly. Always keep each size in stock so people can test and buy online once they have the right fit (your shoes have irregular fit and they all fit differently, you need to let people try them).
Also, hire better staff and train them to help people and to be more friendly. I would not recommend this store and it's my second visit now - still walking out empty handed though I want their shoes.
Considering Merrell shoes now because of how staff behaved on both occasions.

First visit to vivobarefoot. Love this shop. This visit was for grandkids school shoes. Staff certainly know there stuff. No push from them to buy. We did anyway. Need another visit to get myself some feet friendly footwear.

I went in looking for some black dressy women's shoes because my doctor had recommended them. He had also advised asking to have my feet measured as sizes vary. I was met with 2 sales associates who were rude and I did not buy anything because of the way they treated me. If you are a shy person who actually wants someone to sell you these shoes, be patient and bring you different sizes so you are happy with the product this is not the place for you and I'd recommend the natural shoe store which is two stores down and also sells vivobarefoot buy with knowledgeable staff.

I love this shop. I got into barefoot walking after reading Katie Bowman's 'Move Your DNA' and 'Whole Body Barefoot'. Walking barefoot protects your knee and hip joints and helps put off osteoporosis. The staff are very knowledgeable of the products and can provide coaching to check your walking and running style for barefoot walking and running.

Great shop. I was concerned about visiting after reading recent feedback but found the customer service to be very good. Staff were very helpful when required and weren't watching over like a hawk which I like. I loved the look and feel of the primus lux and would certainly have walked out with some if it wasn't for the colour, the blue is too restrictive and the natural (beige) looks to me like cream or white shoes that are past their best. If they came in white or grey then I'd have certainly walked out with some.

I really like their shoes for casual wear, though I haven't yet purchased any of their running shoes as my old barefoot shoes are still good. The wide toe boxes and flat sole are the next best thing to actually walking barefoot, which frankly, I wouldn't fancy in London. The staff here are super enthusiastic (so much so that I'd warn against it if shopping with a hangover!) and they really know their stuff.
I've also paid to do one of their training clinics to check my barefoot running technique and I got a lot out of the session. Would highly recommend if you're thinking of going barefoot/minimal.

Love these running, gym, and work shoes. Was heading for hip replacement with x-ray confirmation and orthopedic surgeon consult. Constant hip pain and having to take pain killers to sleep with pain. Vanished now for last three years through barefoot running and use of these shoes at work and running or gym and leisure. Have the hiking boots. Always using barefoot technique with bent knees and upright balance. Started 5 minutes a week in runs and very gradual transistion. Love the shoes but can't get in New Zealand.
Need UK45 Lisbon for wedding in London in six weeks but sold out!!!! Heartbroken, they look perfect for formal wear. Want to try the Bannister too as could use at work and leisure but sold out!!!

I liked the shoes... but. Felt the size was off and the salesman put me off from trying on more. He told me the size was too small (it felt big) and was offended that I asked about arch support, and wouldn't hear of me trying smaller shoes; referring to the shoes I had worn in saying "they're not supposed to feel like THOSE."
Wow.
All in all the whole experience felt really snobby and artificial. They only use animals that have died naturally for their shoes which is great, but he was pretty condescending when I asked about differing looks in the shoes.
I will take my 150 pound elsewhere. Somewhere that will let me try on what I want and not put down my choices.

I came to this store 8 min before it closed and one of the staff members told me I could not come in because they had closed. Since it said on their web page that they in fact were open I refused to accept this and the staff member let me in with a notice that I was expected to leave at 6 sharp. I said that I'd rushed to get there after a workshop I'd attended in London. Staff member responded thar they had worked for three days in a row and wanted to get home.There were two staff members at the store. I knew what I was getting and they got the shoes I wanted to try. There was absolutely no sense of welcoming or service. Except when the staff member closed the door behind me 2 min to 6.
