Customer service is exceptional here. The missus went here with a list of 7 shoes she wanted to try, without any issue the female sales assistant gladly brought multiple boxes from the upstairs stock room. Nothing was too much hassle, every question answered with honesty and passion. When the pair my partner really wanted wasn't in stock the entire company stock was searched for, but unfortunately the only 7 pairs were in Belfast. Managed to order a pair on their online portal in store (Total Genius idea). I would go here to buy my DM's reminded me of the old days when I used to get my DM's from Shelly's.

I absolutely love this store it encompasses the brand so well. It must have cost an absolute fortune to decorate and is the perfect environment to buy that famous British icon Dr Martin Boots! They have a very wide selection of unique styles and pretty much all of the classics including the vintage made version. Still made in the UK. On top of this you can't help but mention how friendly and COOL the staff are I don't know where they get them from but Nike town could learn a thing or two from this store

Dr. Martens was bought by an investment firm. Ever since that the quality has dropped. My shoes fell apart after 5 months of light use (took 2 months to break them in so i only got 3 months of comfortable use before they fell apart) the warranty isn't what it used to be. They are selling lower quality shoes using the trust that the old Dr Martens inspires.

No matter how expensive or popular a brand is, one factor that determines its success is the people behind the sales department. This particular store at Oxford Street has exceptional customer service, as far as our experience is concerned. The quality of the brand is a given but customer service is the backbone that lends immensely to its success. Didn't get the name of that wonderful chap and lady but whoever you are, keep up the great work!

Tried to return a pair of shoes worn once and the salesman said I cannot. That was after I tell him I want to exchange it with boots because the shoes are not very comfortable, he said okay, I waited in a queue but I didn't find anything right for me. When I asked for refund he started to check very carefully the shoes and said they were worn, the sole went a little bit down/inside (I didn't see that but he continuously said the same thing). Maybe he is the expert but if the shoes get damaged after one wearing that's means the quality is not as the brand advertise it. I'm very disappointed and they lost me as a customer forever.

Went there for an exchange and the customer service was really good. The store looks very small and could have done better with the show case.

I LOVE my new Dr. Martens Boots. They have a very good quality. I wore them very often and they still look like new... These are GOOD shoes for a long time! You will have a lot of fun and comfort with them.

Zero stars. Since the company was sold to vulture capitalists, production has been shifted to East Asia to cut costs. This has also cut quality and standards. I've had docs for many years and never had an issue with the quality. Latest pair of Church boots - both soles split, in multiple places. Clearly a manufacturing issue. This is happening for 100s of customers and Dr Martens will do nothing for you if you are one day over 12 months since purchase. Mine were about 16 months old when the first split happened. Report to trading standards. Consumer Rights Act 2015 provisions apply (goods provided by a trader to a consumer should be of satisfactory quality, which means they should be free from fault, last a reasonable amount of time, do what they’re designed to do).

Katie in particular was so very very helpful when there was no stock of what I wanted on 23/12! She tried everywhere and in the end, by listening carefully to what I needed she found an alternative that my daughter was really happy with. Thank you for all your hard work Katie 5* customer service.

I was pleasantly surprised when I took a look in this store. Women’s shoes are upstairs and men’s shoes are down in the basement. They also have a small selection of shoes on the ground floor. The staff seemed energetic and helpful although the girl in the basement didn’t say very much although she was pleasant and helpful. They had a really interesting duke box which was playing music in the basement. The men’s shoes tend to cost between £100 and £200, then average cost seems to be near the £150 mark. All the shoes feel quite heavy and when I asked about that the assistant said it’s because they all have a very durable sole. I tried on some sandals which were £100 and I was pleasantly surprised because they don’t feel as heavy when they are actually on the feet. They seem to look very durable and probably worth the money. I had to try a size bigger than I am use to because the one’s I tried were quite narrow. I am seriously considering buying some, but because of the price tag I’m going to give it’s some thought.

Good service from staff. Widest range of Dr Martens that I have seen. We certainly don't have these ranges in Johannesburg. Loved it.

Doc Martens the Chinese boot specialists! Not only did you try to lie to me straight to my face by telling me that you made English boots, but then when you finally told the truth and said that your Made In England were actually from China, you recommended us to go to Camden's Doc shop and buy "authentic" British boots, which also turned out to be from China, Vietnam and Bangladesh and have fallen apart in 3 months. You should be disgusted with yourself for lying to us like this!

My boots broke three times in eight days. Turns out I was sold a pair that were made in Bangladesh even though it was the Official store. Went to Camden when I realized that the boots sold to me in the box from Oxford Street were broken. Camden refused to refund me. Went back to Oxford Street and they said Camden had CALLED THEM UP and told them not to refund me because I did it myself. Went to Covent Garden and they offered me an exchange, but this time offering me Made in England. I accepted, but it turns out the Made in England weren't English, but in fact Chinese. They split at the toe on my second time wearing them and I took them back. They gave me ANOTHER new pair and this time told me up front they were Chinese (because the Official Docs shop doesn't sell any authentic English boots any more according to the manager) and promised me they would be great quality. On the eighth day after my original purchase, I'm walking down the stairs and the sole split on the heel of my third pair of boots. This time, I was refused a refund and told to email HQ. Four emails down and no reply. Scandal. You guys are total con artists.

Terrible customer service! After a wonderful day, my friend and I went shopping with the anticipation of each buying a pair of shoes. We made the trek from East London to go to Doc Martens - the actual store, rather than a concession or buying from Office, or Schuh - and get properly sized and look at all the different options. We were sorely disappointed when the customer service we received in the Oxford Street shop was severely lacking. Problems began when we asked to try some styles on. We both have a size 41 foot, so asked to try this size on. I was told by the attendant who served me that they didn't do EU sizing, and told to check what size shoe I was wearing (rather than offering to size me herself). I was somewhat taken aback by this - shouldn't shoe shops offer to size you if their sizing is different to regular fits (and Docs are notoriously known for being somewhat larger sizes!). After this, she brought me a 7. I then asked to try an 8, so I could compare sizes (as generally I am between a 7-8). Her colleague then proceeded to tell me that the 7 was wrong for my foot. His demeanour and tone were unpleasant, and quite condescending. My original attendant finally returned with the 8, and that was the end of our interaction. There was no interest in making a sale, seeing how to shoes fit, or any attentiveness at all. My friend experienced similar lack-lustre attentions, and we were similarly treated with condescension and disdain by the shop assistants. But the real kicker was on leaving. As we left the shop, I made a remark to the three attendants who were downstairs that our customer service had been somewhat lacking upstairs in the women's department. One of the attendants asked what my issue was, and I remarked that there was a general lack of attention and help, and that I thought the staff upstairs had been less than helpful with sizing and helping us. His reply: 'oh, well, we're short staffed.' There were three staff upstairs for three customers. There were three staff on the ground floor for zero customers. We had to wait for the staff upstairs to finish their personal conversations both on the walkie-talkies and to each other before getting help with sizes to try shoes on. The three staff on the ground floor appeared to be having a personal conversation rather than working. I was appalled, and will not be returning to this shop again. Well done for loosing yourselves £500 of business!

Although the staff were friendly enough the lady helping us was very quiet and not super helpful in advising which boots to buy etc. However bizarrely after purchasing the boots I discovered (once I got home) that both boots were for the left foot. Frankly that is ridiculous as I now have to return to the store and waste another day on this mistake.

First, I am a glad Klaus Märten created these air cushion sole shoes. Second, though they did not look good in the '80s but, are the most comfortable shoes or boots I have ever worn since giving them a go in the '90s. Then I spotted a pair coloured Butterscotch in Cambridge. While in London, Just had to buy them. Tried them on and Staff was great, as they held them for the next day. Now, I own my 5th pair of Docs.

I have visited here about 8 times, with my GF, who is a fan of the product and brand. The sales assistants are not good. They hang around chatting to eachother, and standing in the way of the displayed items. Oblivious to customers. If you ask them anything, their advice is just plain silly. It's as if they just don't care at all. No pride in themselves, or the product they represent. I assume the management is absent, or equally uncaring.

One of the best customer service experiences I've had. Three members of staff running around to cater to my very specific requirements efficiently and with no fuss. Ended up getting the specific shoe I'd been after for months and the main guy who served me was happy to write down names, codes and prices for all the other shoes I'd expressed interest in. 10/10.

Very small and very crowded at certain hours, which means you have to wait in line to go to the actual floor where you try on the shoes. But in overall, staff are really nice and you get your products after you have chosen them.

Why are all your boots from Vietnam, Laos and China? Why do you lie to people and say they're British? Why do the boots only last a few months? Can you please reply to this review?

I have hurt my right big toe joint while wearing Dr Martens boots. One day I was walking as usual and felt an acute pain in my toe joint. Later the pain has increased so I had to go to an Orthopedic Surgeon. Diagnosis- bursitis/ synovitis. The doctor said that the boots can cause this because of too high tiptoe, too soft sole and too hard leather. So Dr Martens are not orthopedic shoes for sure - they are the only ones which caused bursitis in my life. Had to return them.

I was kicked out for asking why they don't sell British boots... I'm actually no even kiddin'! Try walking in to any of the Chinese-owned Doc Martens shops and asking the staff why all of their products are made in sweatshops in Vietnam under the enactment of child labour; you'll be out the door before you can say Bangladesh!

Just like the shop in Camden Market, it only sells the cheap Asian quality and not the original British model. There is a store in Camden called British Boot Company and that is the only shop I know in London that sells the true British stuff.
