Shocking service at Griffin, I’ve always used griffin as a local pub for myself for many years & it seems like it’s gone right down hill, for example, yesterday, me & my girlfriend ordered a “sandwich” & it taken over 40mins for us to receive it, I asked for no salad on mine yet it came with salad.. I kept asking the bar staff to exactly how long it will take, when ordering they said it will take up to 20mins, which is fine, yet 20 mins passes with no signs of our food, I kept asking exactly how long it will take & they kept saying, your order is next or, 2 mins it will take.. funny 2 mins when it was another 20 mins wait, I had to hurry as parking in town only has a limited time! Moral of the story, it was a sandwich what taken nearly as long as a first full half of a football game or you could travel from Loughborough to Birmingham in that time.. a sandwich.. and it was s**t

Despite a prenotation, they let us under the rain for 15 minutes, when they said to us that was another "Griffin" the one where we booked.
Unfortunately for them, we called them 20 minutes before to move to the pub for confirmation and there was no problem at all for the reservation. We weren't allowed to enter, despite the phone number called was the same as the google pag. We were in the correct place. Easily: reservation here is not so sure. 2 stars for the funny security guard.

Nice atmosphere but no app to see the drinks menu and you can't leave your table. Also no prices anywhere and you have to order by texting a WhatsApp number - it would be better if you could see a proper menu on their website or if they joined a pub app

Been here a few times since pubs opened back up it is very strict with all the covid rules but that makes me happy. The poor staff seem to keep repeating themselves about social distancing which I'm sure is very testing but you can not fault the food and drinks with great beer garden

We popped into the Griffin last night with the team after work. Great service; we used their whattsap ordering system, very officiant.
We ordered a few pizzas; £6 a pizza, absolute bargain and really tasty, perfect late night
bite with a cheeky pint.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had a chat with the owner towards the end of the night, nice guy and clearly cares about his pub, staff and customers. Working in hospitality it’s always great to see landlords, bars and restaurant owners taking pride in their venues and it clearly shows here.

Attempted to go for a drink at The Griffin yesterday evening and my friends and I weren’t the only people greeted with an unbelievable level of rudeness by the boss who was on the door. I appreciate that working in hospitality is stressful with everything going on but we gave no reason to be spoken to the way that we were. The man was rude and sarcastic when we double checked if we can sit outside to save waiting in the queue for half an hour and he proceeded to comment on my friend’s appearance saying that she was “wearing too much make up”. I find it appalling and entirely unprofessional and won’t be going back.

My friends tried to go to the Griffin last night and were greeted with the worst customer service from the manager before they even entered the pub. The manager also made an incredibly rude and irrelevant comment regarding my friends makeup - which is none of his business to begin with and not something someone in customer service should be mentioning. You have no idea why people choose to wear make up and what they feel about their appearance - therefore nobody - especially not somebody in the customer service industry should be commenting on. So unprofessional and won’t be returning until dealt with.

Totally empathise with all the procedures put into place after lockdown but my experience at The Griffin was absolutely shocking. I believe it was the manager who showed zero people skills explaining to us what we had to do with a QR code which didn't seem to work on my phone. He showed no patience throughout and his solution was to walk away saying just come in and follow the guidelines. We rightly didn't enter the pub and thankfully no other issues in town. We like visiting The Griffin, great staff but it's not the first time we have had issues with the manager.

Great if you're a student, but not so cool if your not. We popped in last night. It was very busy which is great. I just remember what the Griffin use to be like years and years ago. It was completely different back then when Monty use to run the bar.

The manager was INCREDIBLY rude.The griffin is usually one of my favourites so I’m really disappointed. For a bit of context, he was obviously in a terrible mood and spoke to us with attitude when we asked for some information. When we called him out for being rude, he thought it appropriate to insult us. I am still in shock, he obviously is not fit to be a manager.

Best Bar/Restaurant in Loughborough by far. Staff are always helpful and polite and provide a great service when it's needed. I commonly come in on breaks from Uni for food and a drink and I have never had a bad experience. Food is always cooked to perfection and always served in a timely manner. The deals they offer on both food and drinks are outstanding value for your money especially the special deals on selected days for food. Couldn't be any happier with the service this place provides.

Came in for a late lunch yesterday with friends. Service at the bar was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food came out in a reasonable time and was delicious! Will definitely be bringing the family over soon!

It's full of students, not necessarily a bad thing, but it's worth knowing. Beyonce that it serves typical pub food and a wide range of beers. The staff are busy and efficient and it is directly in the town centre.
