Ok food for a reasonable price but service wasn't great. We each had a coffee and a meal for £13 each which was good value but our coffees were not very hot, although they were otherwise tasty. Both of our mains were nice and good serving sizes. In terms of service we were left without menus after sitting down for around 15 minutes, and struggled to get the attention of the servers to get one. Once they took our order they delivered the wrong main for one of us. They were however quick to rectify this. On receipt of our (tepid) coffees I asked for some sugar which never materialised. They weren't particularly busy so I'm not sure why the staff were having a hard time serving us. They were all very friendly however. I wouldn't recommend this place and I wouldn't visit again due to the average food and sub-par service.

The Le Pain offers a very fast paced, and optimistic setting in the heartbeat of the Southbank. The decor is complementary to the dark, old London style 1888. Food is good, and coffee is very well made. Eccentric presentation. Overall staff can be a little calm, but they have a good rhythm of ensuring that everyone is content.

The person that showed us to our table made us feel most unwelcome. If I hadn’t been meeting guests I would have left. The waiting staff were very pleasant however, and the food was adequate. Won’t be back.

Looking for good organic and wholesome food? Le Pain is the place to come for a quick bite and “pick me up”. Attentive staff and also great for people watching ;) high traffic area right next to Millennium Bridge

Great atmosphere, friendly fast service and I loved my avocado on toast with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. I though it was good value for money.

Pretty awesome. It was one of the quieter restaurant in the area, but I've no idea why! Food was awesome, although not a massive menu, service great, and not as expensive as expected, given its location. Healthy, wholesome and organically-sourced food.

Perfection. Absolute perfection a very nice restaurant with delicious meals (I recommend the croque Croissant) this would be the best place to go for lunch or breakfast so if you like panos and what not come to the royal festival hall and that’s where this amazing place is.

Walked in lunchtime and got a seat immediately. Lovely chain restaurant. Service was nice. I found the menu limited with much on offer very similar and nothing very exciting.

Honestly, the food is fine but everyone who served me doesn't look the happiest and I talked to three different people. But I liked the environment :)

Was perfectly fine but nothing to spark the imagination. Tried a few of the cakes with coffee at does have to be said they were all technically very well made. But not desperate to go back

This is a wonderful place for lunch and dinner. It is conventionally located boht near the river and just north of Waterloo station. The dinner meals were excellent and the pastries up front are great.

alway good to go if you have a company to have a long chat. teas and cakes are always nice but I don't know what happened to crumbles, it's getting poorly every year.

Limited menu but good quality good. Chicken pie was good but accompanying vegetables were a bit sparse. This particular one always seems hammed. Yummy puddings, if that is your thing.

Regularly meet my family here, as we are able to sit for as long as we like, and have a comfortable chat. No need to book, even with its central location, always get a table. Food is healthy, tasty and reasonably priced. Staff have always been amazing, helpful, kind and just the right amount of attention.

Perfect for a quick visit and a quieter outdoor seating just off the busier Southbank riverfront promenade, you can enjoy the organic-centric food from LPQ served by friendly staff.

I used to love this place, but now it just feels like a factory franchise. Went pre theatre and chose a beef stew. Got a tiny portion of stew and mash, for nearly £15! I was thinking to add salt which is when it occurred to me how bland it was. Very little depth of flavour. And not even any bread with it. My wife's tartine (actually an open sandwich) had clearly been made a while before as it looked dry, and the bread was hard. To top it all they added 12% optional service, but didn't even ask if we wanted any water with the meal (even though we were buying wine). Can't see me going here again.

Was worth it, especially the Belgian hot chocolate and strawberry tart. The hot chocolate wasn't too sweet, had a very nice bitter chocolate taste and the tart was fresh and beautiful.

Very slow service and the staff is unhelpful. Nice food but not particularly healthy if considering the amount of bread and pastry based items on the menu. Ginger tea saved my visit, made of real ginger and lemon pieces.

Good location near Waterloo and Embankmet stations. Roomy cafe restaurant. Nice range of vegan and other foods and drinks. Attentive and polite staff, good service. Price about right for this tourist area.

Almost £11.00 for a small quiche and a bit of bagged salad. Quiche was nice, but this is more like a lunch I would put together if I had nothing much in, not a mai upwards of £10. Meal served quickly but service otherwise slow. Writing this while still waiting to pay (15 minutes after asking and holding credit card).

The coffee was decent, but I had a custard tart and it was probably one of the worse custard tarts I have ever had (too sweet and lacking consistency). I guess this was English custard, but the custard in tart look liked the Portuguese custard.

Lovely place... on the expensive side (but then this is London)..... Too loud for my liking though! I know that restaurants like to create a buzz but i think i am getting too old to enjoy it!

Had a raisin danish and a coffee. Very enjoyable breakfast and pleasant staff. Was expecting the pastry to be warm but perhaps I should have requested that. It's a huge place so you should not have any trouble getting a table even if it is very busy. Lots of other breakfast options.

Great food (particularly good for brunch or lunch). The staff in this branch are also extremely helpful and personable, willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Would highly recommend.

Tend to find PQ chain a little over my price bracket, although undeniable always enjoy thier pastries and coffee selection. Peter and the team provider diligent friendly service that went along way to justifying a last minute (very) late lunch. His recommendation of the caramel tart was much appreciated, and similarly justified.

Arrived Friday 31/01/2020 6:10pm waited to be served till 6:40 and no one came. We were offered seats in lower part “sharing table” which you can’t get to easy as overcrowded. There is no space to move in case of fire you doomed as it’s agains H&S regulations as gaps are below half meter and no open escape route. Now to service. 2 people serving room of 50+ clients.... Waived at the guy who sat us down in check shirt and he just turned around and went back to entrance. Most of time I go to Marylebone branch, but this just left bitter taste. And not sure what’s the issue the staff or company not having enough... It’s a shame as went to “Cote” next door. Will not be returning to any branch and would not recommend due to service standards kept by company. They disappoint trip to South Bank and experiencing this.

Gender Discrimination at Le Pain Quotidien. I was sitting outside and ready to buy some food, and asked one of the waiters if I could move inside and use one of the indoor tables which had a plug charger, so that I could get my work done. He promptly told me "No, those tables are reserved for bigger numbers of people" (They look big enough for 4). When I pointed out that there was a gentleman inside using exactly the same kind of table, by himself, on his computer, the man shrugged his shoulders and said I can't sit there in any case. He needed that particular table for larger numbers (despite an abundance of larger tables being empty at this time - the cafe was not full), and completely disregarded my point that there was a man inside using exactly the same kind of table, and no-one seemed to have bothered him about that. I would like to point out that this is gender discrimination, and that a woman's work is not any less important than a man's. It strikes me as sexist and shocking that men and women are not offered the same services at this establishment, in 2019. I would love to see progress from this venue. I am very disappointed.

Great seating downstairs can book for groups. The air condition made my tea cold too quickly, to avoid this make the tea hotter so by the time it gets to the table it's still drinkable. Tea pot is a 1 cup and a half basically it would fill standard takeaway cup. Staff very accommodating and professional overall good atmosphere. In the middle of Waterloo not as pricey as I expected average £3 for hot beverage. Have not sampled the food but my friend is a regular and enjoys the food. Great place to come and discuss and chill, no sofas.

Big and atmospheric tea room/restaurant constructed under a Victorian era railway arch adjacent to Hungerford Bridge. Service friendly and quick. Large and varied menu with many vegitarian, vegan and organic food options.

Really busy so got stuck on a tiny table right next to the toilets which wasn't particularly pleasent. Had a coffee and a muffin, the coffee was nice but the muffin was dry and flavourless. Wouldn't rush back.

Ordered scrambled eggs and avocado toast. The eggs were lukewarm. I asked for them to be warmed and they came back rubbery. Extremely expensive for the quality - £32 for breakfast X2 and 2 coffees each. Service charge was added.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. The food is average, or even below average, just a meal, so when you’re paying those prices you really wonder...why!! For this much money, I would expect something a little more out of the ordinary. The service was very slow. The downstairs is very dingy. So poor food, poor prices, poorer service, poor vibe.
