Went to purchase some 35mm film rolls. Staff were extremely helpful and prices were on par with online prices. Will definitely visit again.

Not only is everyone who works here really welcoming and friendly, they also have extensive knowledge about the masses of products they have and even those they don't have in stock. You can ask them anything. As well as their vast range of cameras, if you're lacking any thing from englarger lenses, large format film holders, projectors, film, paper, chemicals, super8 accessories etc they have it or will know where you can get it. I love the bargain buckets of film with "silly cheap" prices. The signs as well are excellent. Mr CAD himself is jolly and friendly and a joy to chat with. Everyone seems to go out of their way to make your visit special.

For decades Alex Falk had been a go to man for analogue photography. What he doesn't know isn't worth knowing. If you are looking for a item difficult to find, try Mr Cad. Friendly staff too. Highly recommended.

A great place full of lovely cameras and equipment. Knowledgeable staff who are more than happy to help. I picked up a Bronica Gs1 in beautiful condition the other week.

First time buying a vintage Pentax lens from Mr Cad. The experience was extremely positive. I can certainly find slightly cheaper on eBay for some of the lenses I searched, but several factors played a role: - The condition of the lens I purchased was as described over the phone, and perhaps better than similar eBay listing - A brick and mortar store in central London (important factor!), along with their history and reputation - Convenient click and collect for online purchases (they're not open everyday for c&c during lockdown 2.0, but I'm 15-20 mins bus journey away, so convenient enough for me at least) So overall, I would say prices are fair for what they are delivering. A great treasure trove indeed!

The older people who work there are so lovely and helpful, one of them even offered me free lessons on how to use a camera! However last time i went to the store the younger guy was very patronising and condescending. He helped me pick a camera as a present for someone. After I gave them the camera they went back to the shop to get film for it only to be told that the guy should’ve never sold me the camera because the film was so rare to find or no was no longer produced, something along those lines! Quite ironic that the guy looking down on me for not being very knowledgeable about cameras sold me a camera that according to his colleague I should have “never been sold”, a shame I didn’t keep the receipt.

I've tried so hard with Mr Cad - both buying cameras from there (two) and having cameras repaired or serviced there. On three separate occasions I have called ahead to outline simple problems with cameras that I need fixing and on the phone they have been confident a fix is possible and it would be no issue, however on every subsequent visit they have been patronising and condescending about the camera as soon as they know it wasn't purchased through them and declined to do the repair. It has wasted my time and their reasons are always pretty shoddy but the root of it is certainly that they don't like to support equipment bought elsewhere. I have used Mr Cad for the last time now which is a shame as it has been run for so long and I'd love to continue to support such an establishment, they just make it impossible to.

Very expensive developing and scanning, and slow service. They outsource this to another company. I now go to Snappy Snaps 100 yards down the road, who do it all in less than an hour and at a fraction of the price.

I went in to sell some old cameras for a friend, the people in are great. They're helpful, explain what they do and completely open in what they'd take and couldn't. For a buyer, the shop is an absolute treasure trove of lenses and cameras, all backed up with people who have a real love of photography

This place is heaven for someone who is very passionate about photography, especially analogue, like me! Mr Cad is a quirky chap but so knowledgeable and delightful to talk to. He will give you good advice and good insight into whatever you are looking for. The shop is small but it is like a museum and I could spend hours in there. Highly recommended.

A wholly devious and crooked operation. Shameless. Took a camera for repair - quoted the sky. I declined. Another quote on the spot, OK. Did not use the camera immediately and within a roll of film - TOTAL breakdown. Ruined, made worse, now completely useless. No come back, no desire to rectify nothing! Initially I was so, so delighted to have found the place. An absolute affront and complete disgrace to all and anything decent. AVOID. If you thought Fagin and his helpers were fictional think again.

Good prices with huge stocks. It's a place you should take a look if you want to build your own darkroom. They have products from brand new to second hand, which are in pretty good condition. I love to buy a lot of outdated films here (which were kept in a really good way, works perfectly) and my chemicals - there price is unbeatable in London ????????.

Terrible experience. I took in 3 rolls of film to be processed and when I came to pick them up I was told that they never received them back from the processors, but that they were going to look into it. They then followed up with an email denying any responsibility and refusing to reimburse me. So I have no film and am out of pocket. I would not go back. I was trying not to use a chain and go for the independent. My mistake.

Very disappointed, I used to admire and respect a store, I also like the owner. I asked if I could get a discount when I asked and bought the product, but the owner was very impatient, sarcastic and mean. Even if you can't, there's no need to be mean, and that's my right. Although I bought it in the end, I lost my utmost confidence in the store

I can highly recommend Mr CAD! What they don't know, isn't worth knowing! Massive selection of both old and new cameras and accessories, for both digital and analogue. Their website is also a good resource. Reasonable prices and very knowledgeable staff, always happy to help. We have been to several different camera stores, and when they weren't able to help us, they all pointed us in the direction of Mr CAD.

The elderly owner was very helpful and spent well about half an hour with me to choose darkroom equipment with me. He explained all to me too. Thank you very much. Prices are a bit high but ok if you consider it is in London.

One of the best camera shops I have ever been to! A must visit for anyone interested in analog & film photography. Large stock of cameras and film in stock with helpful and knowledgeable staff to help if you can't find exactly what you are looking for. Worth a look if only to see where photography has come from, though prices tend to be high even for London standards.

Real vintage pearl in a nowadays modern photo markiting caos. Stumbled upon them just by chance, couldn't pass by their window displays and after few moments entered inside. Dangerous place for anyone doing or inspiring to do analog photography. Lots and lots of items looking for new owners. As once I have heard saying 'well those are just money where here you can get an item you love ????'. Happy to know they are there.

This shop used to be a veritable treasure trove and a must-visit establishment for anyone - from amateurs and students through to longtime professionals - with any level of interest in photography. Unfortunately, this no longer seems to be the case. Whilst the owner has remained an undeniable source of knowledge and advice, visiting the shop is not a pleasant experience. He is at best mildly rude, and at worst entirely unpleasant and arrogant. The woman who works here is, quite frankly, a detriment to the business. I have observed her being nothing short of a bully towards other employees, and impolite and unhelpful to other customers. This shop has had my business for a long time, however I am no longer prepared to support such a toxic establishment; it is a wonder that they manage to retain any staff. The pricing of some items verges on morally questionable, and - given the wealth of online forums now - there are an abundance of better options when it comes to seeking photographic advice. Speaking to others in the industry, these are not isolated opinions and the shop is garnering quite the negative reputation. As such, I would invite Mr Cad to seriously reflect on their operating practices and customer service if they have any aspirations of remaining in business.

Well worth a visit to this emporiam, even if it's just to banter with Alex, Mr Cad himself. The King of Barter. Some, don't understand his humour but such is life, I personally like it. What can I say! Everything is for sale, for a price and you just might find something you never knew you wanted!

In my opinion, one of the last great independent photographic retailers. The store is an absolute dream for analogue photographers, massive selection of products, all the common films such as Kodak, Ilford and Fuji and the customer service is absolutely fantastic. Will definitely be returning to purchase more things whenever I'm in London
