Poor company, not recommended. Non existent customer service and poor communication. Once you order online, you do not get e-mail confirmation of an order. Not responding to messages on website and emails for ages, sending goods showing signs of use in non manufacturer packaged condition, delaying refund, making false statements/excuses and useless advices. Had to involve PayPal and escalate the case to get refund on returned item. Pathetic.

Scammers not returning money after the order could not be fulfilled. I am trying to get the refunc for over 7 months right now and only the biggest mistake was that I used a bank transfer. With credit card you can just use charge-back procedure through your bank..

Second to none service from Microglobe. I would highly recommend after purchasing a pair of bushnell binos from them. They were very helpful, not at all pushy and we're more than happy for me to try before I buy. Spend your money here at an independent store and you'll get a far better experience than at a global company like jessops

Can i put less than one star?
So i ordered over £400 of astronomy eyepieces, 22nd December 2020. All were "in stock" yet i hadn't heard anything by 7th of January 2021, to inform one item was out of stock. The other items were received after some nonsense excuse from them about missing delivery address (was entered with the order D'uh!)... so, 2nd February, after weeks of emails and telephone calls, still no refund for the missing item......
Now they IGNORE my calls and emails....
This company have no ethics or morals. All they had to do was refund my £87.49....
Disgusting.
So, helpful hint for any prospective purchasers from this dubious outfit, use your credit card and when you get problems, take it up with your card issuer....
Microglobe are simply not trustworthy, not reliable, not recommended and a disgrace to both the UK commercial economy, and the Astronomy hobby as a whole.

Scam company -stay well clear of these people! Ordered a telescope in early november as a CHRISTMAS GIFT and have not received it still - it's now February, AND Brexit means I now have to pay custom fees. No thanks... My daughters Christmas was ruined.

Very bad company to deal with! Was sold a faulty telescope motor drive by them. I returned this immediately and they have spent 10 weeks trying to ignore my efforts to get a replacement/refund. Yesterday I was told they were refunding £35.99 of the £39.69 they owed me but they actually only refunded £31.00. I will be reporting this dishonesty to Trading Standards.

Dishonest thieves and bare-faced liars. Last May I returned a faulty motherboard, they sent an email confirming they received the board and sent it back to manufacturer for repair. I waited 6 months, they ignored my emails. PayPal got involved but they told PayPal (Twice) saying they had not received the faulty motherboard. Luckily I had all the delivery tracking information and their receival confirmation email. If I did not keep all the proof these cowboys would have stolen my money in broad daylight.

I puchased a pair of binoculars through this company, they took my money and sent me faulty binoculars, i returned them but i never received my refund of £189.
Endless ignored emails and unanswered phone has resulted me still being out of pocket!!!

Scammers, not returning money for an order (fortunately not of a significant money value) that could not be processed and delivered. Right now it is over 3 months and they are purposely ignoring my emails and I am starting the official complaint through ombudsman.

Placed an order by mistake, cancelled order an hour later. Order sent anyway tried many times via phone and email to No replies after lots of phone calls and emails. Only replied once threatened with legal action then snotty email saying refund will be issued if no sign of scratches or use, we never opened package! Dodgy company don’t deal with these people.

I bought nikon 7x35 ex action,quality was superb.Ordered second nikon 10x50 ex,view was good,but body rubber cheap made,second day noticed rubded body corner.I had ex nikon 16x50 very well made,they looked like new ,even after 5 years.Sent it back,seller forgot about refund at all.Money returned throught paypal after 3 weeks,seller not responded to messages,only one time when was opened case in paypal,he tried explain that all products genuine.Every second model maybe genuine,before 7x35 model really was genuine ,well made, but not 10x50.

Be aware that this shop isn't on the road but in a setback square. It's easy to walk past.
When I visited the door was open but blocked with empty cardboard boxes. They assured me they were open and I hurdled over. And they had what I was looking for and well priced too.
A novel retail experience.

I read a couple of reviews suggesting this place might be a bit dodgy - far from it! They are absolutely superb. I was looking for specific Pentax binoculars, and on comparison sites this company came up almost suspiciously cheap. I was even considering getting these in the US (i have family there, and travel over frequently), but ta the price offered by these guys there was simply no point. I know it's only one transaction, but it was so good (literally 'next day' delivery) i thought it only right to give them my thoughts.

This company thinks the consumer contracts regulations don't apply to them, they sent me a defective pair of binoculars, i returned them but they refused to pay my return postage, to add insult to injury they only partially refunded me less the original postage, i had to submit a claim through Paypal to get my money back, Paypal decided in my favour.
They still refuse to refund my return postage, this is against UK consumer law.
Never will i shop here again!!

Paid for a pair of binoculars that arrived faulty. Arranged to send back for replacement. Sent back recorded (thank god), when postage tracking showed the item had been received I asked for my refund as promised, I was told they would refund.
So I waited and no refund, I asked again for my money and was ignored..
I had to put in a PayPal claim showing that I had returned the item and had the tracking to prove to get my money back. Next step was doing a charge back on cc.
Unfortunately whilst the price was good the service didn't match up.

Found a lens on their website and decided to go to buy in the shop. They charged me more than their online price + delivery!!! I thought i misread the price on their website but unfortunately they charged me £10 extra.
If i would have bought it online i would have had it for £1 less still and that includes the delivery.
I sent an email to ask why the extra charges but i have not had any reply so far (it has been 3 days now, bought on the 17th of September).
The price was not the problem but more the dishonest service they provide me.
Good for prices but not trustworthy and they definitely do not deliver the great customer service they claim on their website!

Avoid.
Sent a work colleague to pick up a pair of binoculars for me, which were a present for another colleague. Colleague returned with binoculars and was readily apparent one of the lenses was broken. Colleague didn't really know what they were looking for when checked in the shop so was unaware of the broken lens.
Thought there might have been independent focus, but no instructions to check, which although strange was just something i assumed was just the way it was done. The body was also suspiciously scuffed but having nothing to compare it with just thought that was the model.
Separate to this, colleague also asked in the shop if could be returned as was for a present, response was "not really, but maybe within a weeks window," which is clearly a breech of trading standards.
Anyway, another colleague returned the binoculars on the same day and the manager decided to adopt the stance that he would refuse to exchange, accusing colleague of dropping them, absolutely disgusting! We refused to accept this and after 30 mins of pleading, he reluctantly agreed to an exchange, saying "this will be my hit"
I have just checked the exchange pair. Both lenses work and actually much better quality than the working lens in the previous pair! Furthermore, what a surprise, no scuffs at all - body in perfect condition so clearly not the model! Instructions are also in the box!
Clearly therefore, saw a naïve customer enter the shop and thought would pull a fast one by giving us a duff pair that have been used, damaged, probably returned (without instructions) and thought they would get away with it.
Happy to see right of reply, but our experience of this place is appalling and I would suggest avoiding at all costs.
If we wanted an experience like this we would have gone to a market stall.

Avoid ! As previous reviews suggest, I haven`t ever seen staff so unwilling to help, incompetent and rude. I went in the shop so I can see few items, that they have on their website, in person. I was told off for bothering them showing me three (3 !) different items and not knowing which exactly I want. I was asked to go on their website on my mobile and look there, not bother them... On top of that, they didn`t know what they have in stock or what the specs of the products were, so again I had to check this myself on my mobile in front of them. I ended up buying the same item elsewhere on an almost double price, just so I don`t leave a penny in Microglobe. Avoid this place !!
