Beautiful little aesthetic of this place with very knowledgeable staff. Purchased a Pentax 67 on the Camera City website. In the description, it said it was in very good condition. Went to the shop to pick it up, and it was mint. Staff gave some pointers on how to use the camera. I will definitely recommend, and will be returning and servicing my equipment.

I had a Hasselblad 500C and lens "serviced" here. The top-down viewfinder catch was not repaired and remained faulty despite it being specifically listed on the quote. At £249 the price was expensive to boot.
The same day, out of necessity, I took the camera to Camera Museum literally around the corner and got the polar-opposite experience. Everything was done reasonably priced, my film backs were serviced properly on the spot (took less than an hour) and I actually enjoyed going there; reading their photography books, seeing the museum and having a coffee while I waited.
The best advice I can give is, go to Camera Museum instead. You will save money and get the job completed professionally. I wish I had known about them before wasting my time and money at Camera City.

I bough my second F-1 body after falling in love with my original F-1. The body was a special edition that came from Japan and I was gutted to see the mirror was stuck and needed to be repaired.
After checking with other repair shops around London because of Covid all gave me at least 72h to 1 week minimum turnaround. I visited Camera City on a Friday and they managed to fully CLA my F-1 for pick up Monday first thing!!
Totally impressed by the fast service and how good the camera got returned to me. Smooth as new and impecable with no signs of the whole strip down that went trough!
I am a professional camera op and earn my living with my kit. I always valued speed and reliability and Camera City ticked both boxes in an area of rare and difficult to find expertise that is vintage SLR repair that exceed by far my expectations.

Do not give these charlatans your money. I took a Pentax P30 with a broken winder lever to get an estimate on a repair. I decided not to go through with the repair upon being told the quote. When I went to go and collect the camera I found it in a far worse state than I had left it; the back had been jammed shut, and the camera is now completely unworkable.
Unfortunately, the aesthetic appearance of this shop reflects the nature of the work done here - shoddy, unprofessional and crooked. Please do not make the same mistake as I did - the number of similar reviews to this is testament to the fact that Camera City should be avoided at all costs.

Brilliant service! Fast repair. When I came to collect it they told me that they fixed other bits of the camera for free. Also got some amazing tips on how to use my vintage camera. Definitely recommend this place :)

I purchased a yashica 124g via the website. It was described as being in excellent condition. That was an understatement, it is almost perfect. It arrived extrememly quickly and the contact from the shop even during the current pandemic was outstanding. I have yet to put a film through it and so will complete this review at a later date. I look forward one day to visiting the shop in person.

Had my Yashica camera restored here following severe water damage. After a month of what must have been considerable man hours to completely dismantle and deep clean the lense I am very pleased to say the camera was back in use. Have had photos developed since and they look fantastic. So pleased to have this back in use.

Took my camera in for repair, once home I noticed something got broken whilst being repaired, and once I pointed that out to the shop, he quickly ordered the new piece and fit that free of charge. Very happy about their service. Sadly my camera broke again, and it's not worth spending any more money in repairs, but I'll surely switch from buying on ebay to buying from them! Highly recommended. 10/10

These guys are amazing. I took my dad's old Olympus OM2 in for a full service and now it's just a stunning camera. As part of the service for a very reasonable price they got it working again - it previously had a problem with shutter jamming - and also replaced the seals around the back to make sure no light leakage. I feel extremely lucky to have my dad's piece of kit working beautifully in my hands. Wonderful job thanks very much.
Also they're now doing black and white film development from the shop - not your computer-based stuff but the ability to have a professional examine each exposure. If you're not printing the full reel you can get a contact sheet to decide for yourself the ones that you want. It's a blessing nowadays.
I can't understand these bad reviews, my experience doesn't match up whatsoever. I'm guessing the customers don't know the complexities of fixing cameras. If you're waiting for an old camera to be fixed, you must be patient - the supplies aren't readily available and have to be ordered. Best camera shop in London, without a doubt, and once again thank you.

One of the best second hand camera shops I have visited.
Having made a purchase at Camera City earlier in the week I managed to inflict some damage to my camera. I made a call at 5:30pm (half hr before close) asking for advice, the owner very kindly stayed late to wait for me so that I could get it fixed same day - within half an hour of the call and at no cost! Incredibly kind and helpful man, also had great patience in teaching me the basic functions of the camera.
Would recommend this store to anyone in the market for second hand very well refurbished camera goods!

Went in today to ask about a strange squiggly line that had appeared down my camera lens. The owner checked it out, identified the problem, and then removed the hair which had got caught on the inside of the camera body all for free. Very professional service and would definitely recommend.

I took my broken camera to Sendean cameras down the road and they quoted me £130 for repair! I took it to camera city and the kind men showed me the problem and how to solve it in minutes. Amazing shop with really reasonable prices and good quality cameras. Would recommend is as one of the best camera repairs in London!

Camera City quoted £90 for a sensor cleaning and to change the focusing screen of my camera.
When I collected the camera they instead asked me for £160 saying the sensor and the finder were very dirty. Naturally I trusted them and paid. Back at home I tested the camera only to discover that the sensor was still dirty and the finder full of dust. I took the camera back to them. I went to collect the camera for a second time and tested it again, but nothing had changed. When I complained they proposed that I take them back the camera again. Naturally I refused because they were clearly treating me as an idiot, making me waste time without doing anything to the camera, apart from changing the scratched focusing screen.
Finally I have just now had enough money again to go to a serious business who charged me £66 and cleaned my sensor and finder perfectly.
If you need to clean your digital camera avoid this business: though friendly, they are dishonest and/or incompetent.

Good selection of equipment, but avoid taking in cameras for repair.
I took my camera in to replace a missing film advance lever and after chashing late work, was quoted £95. The camera costs that much new. Apparently the £95 included full service which I never requested. I was told I needed full service to replace light traps and mirror foam. I refused and collected my camera which still had my original tape holding the screws of the lever in place - very unlikely they even opened the camera in the week they had it. Need a repair? Head to Aperture down the road
*** Quick edit to response: Aperture looked at the camera and told me to buy a cheap £15 eBay broken camera, bring it in and they’d repair it for me free because they didn’t have the parts. Camera city quoted me £95 to replace a screw. In the end I found the spare screw online for under £10.
I hope this doesn’t reflect every customer experience at camera city, I certainly wouldn’t want the shop to go under. I’m just not personally paying to keep you guys afloat.
For those wondering, the camera was a canon ae-1.

Tried to sell and old camera, albeit damaged, still working or for the parts to be used, and they were totally rude and almost mocking me. Don't even bother.
EDIT: I see they answered me. This happened 3 years ago and I still remember it like it was today. I went to other shops and yes, the camera was damaged and parts were not sought for, but everyone else explained this to me calmly and respectfully, except THESE guys. I know it's my word against them but I never felt this mistreated in years.

I booked in my Canon EOS 550D camera for a same day repair. The autofocus motor was not working at all and the engineer said he'd do his best. I was surprised when he said he could replace the autofocus motor on the same day but he managed to complete the repair on time and the camera and lens is working fine. The cost of repair was much cheaper than buying a new lens!

The negative sides sometimes appear. The place was too crowded the last time. The employee couldn't explain everything to me on time and I had to go for a meeting with my manager. This isn't so important. But just in case spare more time if you go there.
