Having had many dealings with Haringey Land Charges over the years they have gone from being one you dreaded, to one you look forward to having dealings with. Jon and the team have provided a first class service, never discriminating between both official and personal searches, the service levels have remained the same. During lockdown the communication, unlike some other local authorities has remained first rate, with queries being dealt with and questions being answered . They have also helped clients meet tight deadlines in providing searches at short notice (when possible) without any fuss or excuses. Thanks again guys for the service you provide.

LOL, trying to set myself up on their new council tax account. One of the parameters for setting this up is entering the last 3 digits of the account you pay the direct debit from... eh we don't use direct debit so it's impossible to set it up. Now i'm in arrears? bore off. You can't speak to anyone and they don't respond to your emails.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Honestly have not experienced a worse council than haringeys. If you are prepared to spend an hour on hold only to be cut off then please live in the haringey Borough. If you are prepared to type in correct information on the haringey website only to be told its wrong, please move to haringey. If you finally get through to someone only for the receiver to be huffing and puffing, please move to haringey. Joke of the universe and an absolute mockery to peoples time!

We ordered some parking permits over a month ago, and no sign of them at all. It states that they should arrive within 5 days of purchase. We've tried chasing via email several times and been completely ignored. This really feels like stealing. If it's not simple theft that's taken place here, could someone from Haringey Council please explain how they haven't simply stolen £33 from us please. Disgraceful.

Most useless institution in England. When you're meant to pay things - matter of seconds. When I parked as a new resident in front of my flat - waiting for the permit to get valid (I even displayed a note, with number of the paid permit request) - a few minutes and ticket on the window. Just before that I have spent 1 hour of waiting in a queue on the line when I needed to contact the council for other matter - keeps saying expected waiting time 10 minutes (but how many times 10 minutes??) TYPICAL COUNCIL SERVICE, sadly. They're not here for the people, they're here for themselves.

I just want to say a massive thanks to Jonathan, the Local Land Charges Manager, who helped me resolve an issue with a delayed local property search. Having read the reviews of the council's service online I wasn't very hopeful, but after sending a private message to their Twitter account yesterday, Jon called me first thing this morning to assist. He talked me through the process, explained what had happened, and offered to contact our solicitors directly. Within less than an hour we had the local search doc we were waiting for. I don't think I've ever received such efficient service from anywhere! Also thanks to whoever handles the Twitter, who kindly passed the message on straight away.

Purposefully make everything difficult and long so you end up with fines. In other boroughs I've lived in (Wandsworth, Camden) you can get an e-permit which allows you to park instantly whilst pending approval. However Harringey Council make you wait weeks to post you a permit. Why can't you have an e-permit service like many other London Boroughs in the 21st century?? Because then you won't be able to issue as many fines? As I don't have a permit (which I have applied for and not received) and I currently can't walk (having surgery 2 weeks ago for a broken ankle) my partner has to drive me about and got ticketed as he was leaving my property at 8:38am. No empathy despite the fact we have tried to get a permit, I am currently disabled, it was only 8 minutes in to the no parking time, and he was already leaving. EDIT response: It's great to hear you are looking to improve your service and allow for e-permits. Thank you for helping speed up the process of getting a temporary permit while I wait for my v5c to return - it is much appreciated. The permit I was referring to that I was waiting a long time were the visitor permit I applied for on the 04/10, however now that I have a temporary permit now this is no longer an issue. We have submitted a challenge for the PCN.

As a restaurant owner we are in the 2nd lockdown. Harringey council has taken the opportunity to fine us £400 because the wind blew 2 cardboard boxes out of our bin. The council sees this as "flytipping" I see it as robbing small businesses who try to hang on by the skin of their teeth. Our apeal to revoke the fine as been refused and we now have to pay £400.

I received a penalty charge for being trapped in a box junction on a right hand turn. I spent the time writing with my objections basically being on furlough and really can not afford to pay them £130 when I am surviving with a family of 4 on £200 a week because of Covid. Anyhow had no response and instead received a notice saying I owed £195 now!? Does anyone know how you can actually talk to someone at the council about this?

The Council does not seem to be helping me with my Covid 19 Business Grant Form, I sent them so many emails but they are not getting back to me. There is no contact number for Business Grant Team. I been waiting more than two months and I still did not get paid. Someone needs to do something about this, as many Businesses are affected and they are struggling to pay their rent. This is very serious for you guys to be ignoring emails. Please respond to the customers emails and please call them as we are very stressed. Despite providing Business rates reference and all proof. NO PAYMENT RECEIVED FOR THE GRANT. BEEN WAITING OVER 2 MONTHS. EXTREMELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO DOES NOT EVEN BOTHER CALLING. TWO WEEKS AGO I EMAILED THE GRANTS TEAM, STILL NO CALLS OR REPLY FROM THEM. IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE THEM A 0 STAR.. FOR NOT THINKING ABOUT PEOPLE. SERIOUSLY 2 MONTHS AND NO PAYMENT RECEIVED???? WHAT IS GOING ON THIS IS VERY SERIOUS.

No one comes back to you with anything even the ceo dispecable.!!!

I have received consistently appalling service from Haringey in the 13 years I've lived here. It really would be laughable if it wasn't so bad and the cause of so much frustration. Parking services and council tax are equally as bad. If you call and their lines are too busy, you may have to listen to several minutes of recorded messages before it says they're too busy and simply cuts you off. If that doesn't happen, you'll almost certainly have to wait a totally unreasonable amount of time to speak with someone - my last call to parking services the wait was 1 hour 15 minutes (the member of staff was apologetic, I hate to think of the amount of grief they probably have to put up with). If you email them it is often MONTHS before you get any response. I have recently moved and emailed their council tax department prior to the move in preparation. That was 6 weeks ago and I've followed up 4 times and still no response and now receiving letters saying I've fallen behind with payments and they are going to take legal action against me - thanks Haringey, nice of you during a pandemic when people are already totally stressed out and you won't take my calls or respond to my emails. Their online services are no better and never seem to allow you to do what you want to do. For example you can set up your council tax account but only if you want it in one name, not joint names. If Haringey council was a company, it would rightly have gone out of business decades ago. Unfortunately most of us don't choose where we live based on the service level of the local council, but this shouldn't be an excuse for the atrocious service Haringey insults it's residents with.

For the past five weeks I have had a leak in my sitting room ceiling coming from the drainage downpipe. It has damaged my carpets and furniture and I have reported this so many times and the only action that has been carried out is different worker's including plumbers, roofers and other workers taking pictures and saying that they will be sending them to management, this issue is still not resolved even though I have also made a formal complaint.

Council services falling apart with Covid. Can't get through via email or phone. Big queues at the library , staff seem exhausted and getting something as simple as residents parking vouchers needs planned with military precision and a day off work. It should not be this bad!

This review concerns the Electoral Office Services at Haringey. My husband and I have properly registered at our entry local register, including in the form our correct address, they confermed us that they allowed our Postal Application.. On July 2019!! Everything I have just described happened in July 2019. And we paid to the Postal office to send all the filled forms. Could you imagine our dismey when we have received an email, last Thursday 24th of September 2020, which said that we have been removed from our Entry Local Register! We have sent an email, we have attached the forms filled on 2019. In the same time one neighbour of us, jn the property, have registered herself and she has received, just last Thursday, a confirmation of ger application. But at our same Flat!!! Same apartment. Same number!! So they sent us a quick email reporting tgat now they have added our number.. And of course, without any explanation, any apology by them, any kind wors for the inconvenience caused to us, jyst yold us to apply again. Unbelievable! In 2019, they reported a wrong flat number. No the flat number we have reported on every Form. When our neighbour has sent her form, they put her on our Flat and removed us!!! Incredibile.. They reported her on flat 1, like us, even if she has in another flat with another number, like us.. They put everyone in the Flat 1 and after tgat, tgey do nit check.. Do not call you.. Do not send you an email to ask you why they do not have in their entry local regisyer these numbers.. Nothing.. They do not work carefully... And tgen.. You have been removed.. And even they do not say SORRY!!!!! Do you think we are numbers?!! And idiots?!! Every has to take care and responsibility of its bit. You didn't in 2019. You didn't with my neighbour in 2020! You didn't with us back abd now.. You do not work properly, you do not apologize. This is socially unacceptable!

Annoyingly, they call it a ‘service’. My son bought a car so we need another residents parking permit (the protection racket business model - pay us to protect you from parking tickets). I apply online and pay (they accept the money). The form is complex - lots of resident numbers, issue numbers, etc. Ten days later, they want more info - they don’t believe he lives here (why would he need to park here if he doesn’t live here?). I send them more stuff to prove we’re not liars. Ten days later, they email me (noreply) to say they can’t give a permit because the car has to be in my name (or the same name as their person applying). No mention of what I need to do. No contact details. No phone numbers. Go on their site and you’re sent round in circles. So what do we do? I can’t complain they’ve kept the money, I need visitor permits everyday. Where is the service? They seem to hate their own residents. They make your life as hard as they can. All to park on the road near our house.

We have been waiting for weeks now for our council tax reduction claim to be processed despite of providing all the evidence asked we are being sent letters threatening legal action against us if we don't pay the rate before any reductions. What the hell are the people working there doing is beyond my imagination. Threatening people who can already barely survive with legal action during a global pandemic simply because they're unable to cope with a work load is unacceptable. No one is replying to our emails either. But they do manage to send threatening letters out. Stay away from Haringay

I was astonished to read all your negative reviews. I have always found the staff at Haringey friendly. It is true that they cannot always help and I myself, have issues with Haringey, but the staff are generally very good. I am impressed by the fact that the most of the posted comments have a response. This is not the case on other Council websites, notably Camden.

Today I went in to get a parking permit as I didn't want to wait another week for it (if I did it online) Cant believe the extremely poor service! Waited in the queue with my daughter for 3 hrs and this is without exaggeration. I went there around 10.25am and was seen by someone at 1.20pm. There was false information being told by the staff to get customers to leave the line such as "we cant do anything about parking permits as its all online." However, when I eventually got to see someone they were able to give me a permit there and then. The MANAGER WAS EXTREMELY RUDE. AS A CUSTOMER SAID SHE SHOULDNT BE THE MANAGER. WHEN PEOPLE WERE COMPLAINING SHE WAS UNAPOLOGETIC SND UNSYMPATHIC AND IT JUST INCREASED OUR FRUSTRATION.

paid for a parking permet, the permit did not come because of COVID-19. The recent scape goat for haringey council. I moved from the property. however i still can not get my refund. I constantly have to call and chase. 30 seconds to take money. 90 days and counting to get it back.

Absolutely fuming. Not only have they given a whole road near my work tickets including residents who live there for some obscure reason, it's then impossible to get in contact to dispute. Haringey councils website for disputing parking tickets has not been working and have tried for 3 consecutive days. I have tried to also call but they are not taking calls. Searched everywhere for an email contact and can't find one. Seems very dishonest and not impressed.

Haringey council is by far the worst council when it comes to attempting to contact them. You can wait on the phone for more than an hour only to be disconnected as soon as someone answers. This may sound extreme but there needs to be a PURGE of the whole council system as you never seem to resolve an issue in reasonable time with them. The online system to arrange a parking permit never seems to work so why even bother? I could go on and on but the main issue is that they workers have the cheek to disconnect residents who have been wasting more than an hour of their day to talk to the council. I would advise everyone to either try online to resolve an issue or head directly to the relevant council building because calling them will almost always end in more frustration.

Another new negative related to the council... It is about the cafe I mentioned before below...The nexr door cafe strated to use their back garden for a new business, where the landlord 3 years ago told me that the cafe couldn't used it for the business and the staff entering. Now they are bringing strangers/their customers in and out from morning till 9.30 pm. Because of Covid19, can the hospitality businesses do whatever they want? My privacy and noise neusance from their loud vocalisations children screaming in my garden all day and evening daily have been awfully affecting my mental well-being. The landlord, the owner of the cafe, the council do nothing reasonable to my side who is ordinary resident. It has been a hell at my home. The council does nothing to protect my right of having privacy, quiet home life and my mental health well-being. I thought the council and hospitality businesses have duty to be reasonable and care about ordinary residents like me. Also shocked to know that the customers choose to go that area knowing it is in middle of quiet residential area to make noise neusance. If it is not from majority, are you the council to leave a person like me as it is with nightmare? Their planning and building control department has made my life dreadful with years of constant noise nuisance and still ongoing. They failed to send me a letter re the planning twice in the past, and ending up my life with daily distress with noise the next door business makes. I wonder why I have to give one star to put this on review. I would like it to be below zero. I am not talking about statutory noise. Their noise team can only deal with statutory noise. They made it like this and now they can't do anything as it is not statutory noise. Vibration with droning noise from the cooling fan mounted on the shared wall, constant customers crowds noises-I can even hear what they are saying sometimes-, chairs dragging and hitting the floor noises starting from 6.30 am via thinned shared wall. All echoes to my 2-3 rooms. The smell and noise from their low extraction vents that is facing not to street but to my garden side is also ongoing. The light is on at their back kitchen all night with low machinery noise that I can hear in my bedroom. Their tiled hard floor, the ceiling made it higher, thinned shared wall in their front side, and not efficient low vent at the back are all granted by the council. It is obvious what has been causing this noise, vibration and smell issues to my house. I no longer have quiet home life as before. They are just not professional enough to assess the planning application for caring about next door resident who has a shared wall with the business. They are for the business people and not at all for residents who is wanting quiet life at home. This years of distress is affecting my wellbeing and actually getting unwell mentally. Their regulation is not to protect the residents. It seems to protect themselves to me. They told me that they can't deal with domestic loud chats but the crowd buzz and people's loud talking noises via shared wall is from the cafe. And the cafe is not domestic. It is commercial business.

My son is severely disabled and is entitled to a single occupancy discount on council tax. We sent an application and all supporting documents including a letter from our GP on 25 November. We also emailed scanned copies the same day but received no reply whatsoever. Instead, on Friday 27 December, we received a letter demanding payment of £338 within 7 days despite his disability and threatening us with legal action. They obviously didn't bother to process our application or even read emails in a month time. Moreover, the letter was dated 17 December so the deadline was already missed. The next working day is now 30 December and I'm not even sure if I will be able to find anyone if I go there in person. I'm a single mum and I don't have much time or spare cash caring for a disabled person, a 6 y.o. child and also working part time. I did what was required of me to apply for the discount but the council failed to provide even the basic service they must provide. Our Christmas and New Year is now totally ruined by this worry about payment and legal action. Absolutely appalling attitude to disabled people, I'm deeply shocked.

They are impossible to get hold of, severely long wait time’s to speak to anyone. I have lived in two separate properties over the course of three years and both times have had issues with council tax. My Council tax bills don’t come through the door and I’m left with ‘final notices of payment’ of a bill I have no knowledge of! When they eventually do come they are dated two weeks ago! It’s happened to me twice!

I just attempted to speak to someone at Haringey Council via their main phone line. If there is not an option relating to what the caller needs then there is NO referral to a human being: which is obviously an excellent way of not having to interact with annoying council tax payers who might need some information relating to the borough - as I do at the moment. (No information on the website. I just tried that.) Well done Haringey. Maintaining the usual level of service.

I live in haringey more than 3years. when I was pregnant I apply homeless application and they give me c band. When I gave birth I refused to come out from hospital because where I live is not safe for me and my baby because it's too small and I share with another 4peoples no seating room it's just one toilet one bath and on kitchen. Than the hospital contact haringey council and I got one advisor who told me he can help me and it's not possible to find place in a minuts when I am at hospital now its been more than 2monthes and still not get help I contact the housing offers he told he will not help me. And when I call the council I been blocked. After waiting 30minuts so its ring like ne and start all over again. Me and my baby sleep in the same bed and one day I woke up while I slept on her she was birthing so fast and i am scared to harming my baby I even think sometimes just to give her away just to save her life than my heart just can't. I go to all people I know just to let me sleep one or 2days but now every one tired of me.soon she is going to move how can i am going to toilet because she will fall down. If any one read my review please help me to find safe places for me and my baby.

If I could give 0 stars I surely would. Sorting out parking permit for my car (and probably any car in this borough) is nothing short of a stress. Having moved here recently, I had to apply for new parking permit. I couldn't do so online for some unknown reason, so I had to do that over the phone. I took me 4 attempts lasting more than 90 minutes overall before I could speak to someone as three previous attempts would simply run me through options and then hang up on me due to their inability to take calls right now. Having paid for my parking permit it's now been more than two weeks since my application supposed to have been processed, but I still have no permit and I have to leave my car in a DIFFERENT BOROUGH every single day, because I ran out of daily permits (which also cost me quite a bit because you can only buy them in bulk and I think I know why) and if you want to buy some locally you have to wait for more than two hours in the queue after being "greeted" by some of the most unhappy council workers I've seen, which I simply can't do and I'm not taking my chances fighting over several PCNs I would have got by now if I didn't have friends living in Barnet. You may say that delays caused by current Covid-19 situation, but I hardly think so as during the lockdown I received two separate yellow box penalties within several days after being shot on camera. That's something they've done exceptionally quick unsurprisingly. Cutting to the chase, I feel like Haringey Council doesn't really care. I have no reasons to think otherwise.

The worst service. they remove the bin containers every two weeks or less. There is no regulation. Never answer the phone or you have to wait at least 1,5 hours. Online service doesn’t work they answer emails after 6 weeks. They put down the phone if they shift finish. And the area I live is expensive.
