Never reply to emails. When you phone them they tell you to email repairs. BUT, they never get back to me about any issue even when asking for a replacement fob key. They don't seem to care about anything let alone their own tenants' basic needs. Old empty flat is in a very damaged state of disrepair and with asbestos tile subfloors. Expect me to fix everything. Unreasonable, unreliable and unrealistic.

Horrible council with incompetent and uncaring staff and officers. Very good at issuing tickets for parking and traffic violations (because that brings in lots of money), but useless at providing any sort of expected council service to their residents.

Harrow Council have made it frustratingly impossible to get through to a human being for a number of years now. And council tax charges continues to go up but their services continue to go downhill, including excessive charges for disposal of large items, resulting in more fly-tipping!

MISSED BINS - if you ring up to say your bin has been missed, they put a "request" in, that it should be emptied within 2 working days. Well, if it isn't, and you ring up again they put in another "request". You would think that one house with 2 outstanding requests would be dealt with ASAP, but no ! It seems that a new "request" supersedes any outstanding requests and gives the council a further 2 days. So, the more you complain, the less likely you are to get the bin emptied. Catch 22.

Impossible to get hold of them by phone. No advise on how to make contact. No response to emails. Hard to imagine how they could be worse UPDATE. ONCE CONTACT WAS MADE THEY COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL AND COMPETENT.

It seems that people only take the time to write Google reviews when they have a negative experience with their council. I have had two issues since I moved from Central London to the Harrow area (eg. fly tipping) and both were dealt with swiftly and efficiently. They called me immediately and kept me up to date about the resolution at every step. I cannot thank the team enough.

I wish the option to select below zero was available for this council. I have started employment and it’s been over 5 months the housing benefit department requesting me for documents and evidence none stop and I have been providing them. However, they cannot sort out my entitlement. One officer calculates and puts it up and the other one puts it back down requesting for more evidence. Over 5 months of providing evidence and documents I feel like I’m working for this council. Absolutely disappointed with the service they provide to their residence and they keep passing you from one person to another. At the moment their excuse is covid19 when they actually getting paid to work.

Ive been known to this council for over 20years, and the way myself, my partner and family been treated, im beyond caring with how i speak in this dump. Iv been lied to, iv been placed in a hostel with rats, broken washing machine, holes in doors, broken toilet, shower, abused, removed from my town with words twisted and referral else where to which i never wanted. Council homeless department lost my file n my documents from a previous council and so on im so very much disgusted with these jackarses needs to be closed n burnt to the ground now needing new proper staff.

A very expensive borough to live in. Many of the services provided are manned with unhelpful personnel. Start considering your residents instead of grabbing their money and shutting the door in their faces.

I would give zero. Not able to contact or speak to staff. No personal responsibility for issues. Long waits trying to get through and then usually the wrong department. Its a big waste of local taxpayer's money. Plus the council refuse service stinks. They keep missing bins even when in full sight. Then try to report it ... what a website to navigate. Try to complain... you need to be an Olympic athlete to jump their hurdles and the patience of a Saint. Sorry but poor. The council is meant yo serve us the local public!

The only reason I'm leaving one star is because the system won't let me leave no stars. What a shower this lot are. I pay them the best part of £3k a year for services and what do I get, abject inefficiency. If I ran my business with this level of customer service I wouldn't have been in business for over 30 years and someone would have probably sued me by now for misrepresentation. This would not happen in the private sector. 25-01-2021 Update Logged into my Harrow account today to see if my garden waste collection was up to date. SURPRISE you can't check and see. I would phone and ask but believe me life is to short. Well I suppose I'll have to wait and see what happens will I get a sticker or will I not, I can hardly wait. Once again they have excelled in misspending OUR money.

Communication in this place is awful - they've issued 6 parking notices to my car, which is registered to park outside our house. After being told and given evidence of my parking permit, and then cancelling the PCN's, they they then issued a "charge certificate" 2 months later, with no option but to pay... This council needs investigating.

Couldn’t care less attitude. Most staff there make you feel worthless. They don’t know the meaning of curtesy. I wonder how they get jobs in the first place. In private sector, these people wouldn’t last one week. We as council tax payers, contribute towards their salary, yet they behave like they are your masters. Disgraceful.

I had paid for a bulk collection and requested they knock on the door so that I could get the item out so that it did not get vandalised in the night and I also tried several times to get through to them on the phone which was simply impossible to confirm all this. They never bothered to knock and now want me to pay again for the collection still not collected!!! SHAMEFUL TO SAY THE LEAST

Customer service is a very poor Rita Contractor Steven Westo and Emmanuel from housing have no people skills and are rude.. take months to reply to emails, if they do and they don't call you back. They struggle to resolve simple issues. They also break Data Protection Act and share information without consent.

I have an ongoin issue with my council tax bill, i try to talk with concil tax team on the phone but the lady i spoke with ( shame i'm not allowed to name it ) was so rude, didn't wanna lisent what i have to say, she blamed me couple of times and rushed me. Not trained at all, as she try to guess what's wrong with my account and gave me 3 diffrent explanaitions and changed her mind few times. I asked to talk to another person and she decline my enquire stating as she is more than clear whith what she was talking about, then i asked to talk to her supervisor or manager but again she didn't wanna pass me to either. I did try to explain what i found wrong with my bill and asked her to have a look as been calculated wrong and her reply was " Im not here to do the maths for you " , even when i did say i allready done themand is clearly a mistake on the bill, you just have to look at it, as i have two diffrents bills, one with the right amount, and then another one with another wich is a lot more. I said i will like to make a complain the so rude she said " Well, you will have to go online as we are not here for complains sir " Shame for you, a person with your behaviour shall not be in a customer department.

The worst experience I have ever had with this council Phone line and website as well. More than 20 attempts to resolve a issue with a wrong council tax statement. I don't blame them for any other services that they are doing for the people and the environment in this council area. And I appreciate their hard work. But they should improve their services on the phone and website.

The most unfair council ever - Since when does it say on their council tax reminder notices that you only get two and if you get another they issue a Final Notice? How is that even fair? I tried to set up a direct debit on their USELESS website only for it not to accept my type of bank?! And then when i do use a bank they accept the direct debit doesn't even go through. Only received 2 bills in the last 4 months and they're now trying tot get me to pay the whole remainder in full or I'll be issued a summons. Tried to explain this when I finally got through to one of their numbers and they said there was nothing they could do. NO care in the world and terrible staff and service. Very sad. They sound like they're money hungry scoundrels!! Wish I could give zero stars.

We have set up a direct debit for the Council Tax, however, we keep receiving final notices, and now they charge us the full amount for no fking reason, we have tried calling so many numbers and sent emails, yet nothing! We have tried paying each month as well, since looks like they do not accept our direct debit. No phone line is working, employees are frickin useless, no response to our emails and so on. Too bad I cannot offer zero stars. Disgusting

You know people say stereotypes exist for a reason, in this case councils are incompetent, rude, patronising, confirmed again. On the call about council tax, taking some instructions from someone navigating the confusing website, I continuously played back her instructions, and telling her I can't find the option she was referring to, her only response was "I don't think you are following me, it's not that hard, let's do it together OK?" while failing to hear what I was saying and giving wrong instructions.

Harrow residents need to vote out these cowboys, there new web site is a joke, they don't respond to email, they send out wrong information, one section doesn't know what other is doing, all they want is payment and if not send it to debt collectors who then fine you more money and reply speak to council. Disgrace..

Absolutely disgusting council. I had moved properties ans had a small amount of money owed to the council which i was unaware of. Even though my landlord gave them my new address no letters were sent to me and fees constantly added to make my debt bigger and bigger. When i finally found out about a year later i went to the council offices to sort it out. Noone would speak to me each member of the team there told me to fill out forms online. In the end i made a complaint and someone from the council (Scott) contacted me a promised that the charges would be removed from my account. Over 1 year later i am recieving a letter from an enforcement agent of which they are seeking money from me over this debt. I cannot describe how frustrating and unprofessional this council are. I would not live in the borough again due to this horrendous experience.

It is a money making scam to fleece anyone who dares drive on their decrepit and poorly kept roads. DO NOT drive on any roads belonging to this council.They will claim it is a bus lane and fine you.

This council not right, just went to Cannons Park which is only small, it is the only council that I know let cycling in a park at the moment 3 on bikes nearly went into me not keeping social distance, plenty people together sitting on benches even smoking pot, playing football, one very fat person sitting on bench with books definitely not there for exercise never done any in her life by looks of it.

1 star is not worth. For more than a month automatic voice announces that the line is closed so homepage contact or via email to the proper designated officer and it takes several weeks the officer checks the email. Hence I tried to call several other council and they all answers right away. So disappointed.

Well, thanks very much for telling us that the garden waste service is being cancelled the afternoon before it is due to be emptied! They suggest not filling the bin - bit too late now after people have spent the last week tidying up their gardens. Sadly not surprised though as it is Harrow Council after all who probably provide one of the worst services in the country. No stars!!

Very poor service, I have been trying to contact Harrow Council since last one year regarding cleaning the river where people has put food and rubbish in detail. But no response. They cancelled road work where we live, the road has so many pot holes it’s near to the school. But council doesn’t have time to do road work. They will have time when voting comes to ask for votes. They don’t won’t to provide the service when we ask for. Not asking money just asking for road safety and cleaning river.

Lines are open to pay council tax but not the line for enquiries..... I am entitled for Ctax reduction support but they took ages to process my claim I mean ages.... Now it has been nearly two months. And they keep sending threatening letters to pay £190 or summon to court.. People are losing their jobs and other apparently taking advantage of... From the fruit you shall know the tree.

They spent thousands of pounds moving the outdoor gym in Priestmead park 70 metres across the grass, for apparently no reason. Also there has been a mound of dirt in the park for years when they 'upgraded' the kids playground. About a year ago they sent in diggers to remove it but only succeeded in covering half the park in mud and not removing the mound of dirt, which is full of sharp tiles and rocks. They have also reduced traffic on station road in Harrow from four lanes into two which creates gridlock at any time of day. Harrow is filling up with overpriced 1 or 2 bedroom flats with extortionate rent and the infrastructure is getting worse. Most of Kenton now has those annoying speed bumps that you can't straddle because of parked cars, and they often cause cars to drive on the opposite side of the road to straddle them, making the roads even more dangerous. How about instead of spending so much money on pointless projects which you think makes you look better (we can see straight through you), you start spending money on youth clubs and centres to stop kids getting involved in gangs and knife crime, then perhaps there won't be a stabbing every day in Wealdstone. Now we have found out that Harrow council has received £400m to move the civic centre 1 mile down the road in a pathetic attempt to try and gentrify Wealdstone. Don't even get me started on the dump.

Seems like they don't care too much about businesses, with no proper resources, unlike my local London Borough that has library resources and an SME Champion. The website passes us off to the general government website whereas my Borough has in house contacts.

Finally I moved out from this Council. High council tax for low service provided and poor quality of life. Dangerous neighborhood with dirty streets. If you call the Harrow Council Customer service they say they are struggling with "Coronavirus" and ask you to go to their website which is very confusing and out to date. However, for applying PCN to cars they are not struggling with "Coronavirus".
