there are not enough words to describe the disgust I feel in regards with this council. Not even going to waste my time to tell you all the issues we've experienced with them ! waste collection - not in time, clean parks - disgrace, parking permits - worse than disgrace and so on....

Aggree with Lee Langton review "Their automated phone system options are limited and make it difficult to be put through to the correct department. When I did speak to someone they put me on hold and then hung up" When you go the Civic Centre to speak to someone its like talking to a brick wall. Rude staff.

We pay that much tax every month evry year for this that is way to much I have make complaints with emails over phones about parking front of my house and still they don't do anything about it I do t recommend with nothing. Bad customer support bad everything. Less than 1 star they deserve

I would give zero or even minus!! Service we receive : Do we? Residents find out that there is no one there to speak to you or answer queries when you ring the contact number for the civic centre. It is there for sake of it. Even smallest shop on the street have there landline number and you can speak to someone unlike council,where all options are automated ! At one point there is a voice says someone from customer service will speak to you and you find the dead end!! AI technology is good but it is not at that satge that beats the real person.That is why council should use both! Staff at civic centre equally the same read from the book and absolute make no effort to find out information! Lack of training?Lack of knowledge? Or lack of will? Saving money at cost of knowledgable,experianced staff ? It also shows with so many 1 star reviews there is no effort to change anything.Landline with a real person on other end can be a good start. Anyone at civic centre? My experiences of Harrow council has been basic,which could have been solved with one phone call to clerify things.Someone who is knowledgable and trained properly to deal with queries and direct them to the relevant people in various departments only if they need to. I tried my best not to try and call and find out things from website but it is not always easy to understand clearly or confusing and want someone to claerify before you do things wrong or incorrectly or don't follow the correct procedure. Who do I go to?

Pitty the lowest score is 1 star. No phone numbers are published, except the main on that put you in an automated loop but not to the area you want. Once in the automated loop you will be cut off, or put back in on automated loop again Arranged meeting in a hall for an open evening. Attended hour before closing found that the council did not book the event and no one was even present. Very good at charging. Putting workers in place with minimal tools to do job, so that the work takes longer and tenants pay more admin charges

Difficult council to deal with, from planning permission to refuse collection. I paid for my garden waste to be collected 2 weeks ago, and they still haven't collected the bin, though I have been charged for the collection. I have rung them but still no joy. If one misses a council payment, then they are onto you in a flash, but cannot provide other services. Lots of room for improvement

Would give 0 stars if I could! Never pick up the phone. Reporting serious incidents like dead animals on roads and fly tipping which causes rodents and illnesses are never taken seriously. They are all lazy people, I dont know what they are paid for!

We give them call, they informed us to slove the issue we need to write email and they will get back to us. We done that no response. We went inside to get our issue solve. We speak to them no one can help us. Nobody even tried to find solution to our problem. Ridiculous. Unhelpful.

This council is an absolute disgrace. I have had a noise complaint since last year July 2019 and they haven’t offered any support or resolution. I have followed the complete procedure also. This council has no contact numbers but a mailbox system. We received contact from an “investigation officer” John Rattray and due to me challenging his customer skills he felt insulted and was unable to perform his duties and from the time it has taken, has since put my complaint back under the pile. No resolution, no adequate acknowledgment. We live in a diverse borough that helps make this city thrive but it appears our Eastern European community are unable to follow the rules, regulations and show respect or decency to people who have been brought up here. It’s a shame really, our council should be helping to educate and guide people that enter here the etiquette that is required to be part of the community.

If you move house and attempt to contact them, no phones are never answered .. so you then use their online portal, recieve and acknowledgement slip for change of address. These are ignored by the council and will likely lead to court summons to pay due council tax, even though you have paid the right amount up to the date of departure, leading to harrassment. It's an embarrassment

This organisation is filled with crooks and thief's, they have completely ignored communications and have ignored my appeal. Two years later they had sent me a letter explaining that the ticket had not been paid. furthermore, they said that it was to late to appeal and they sent an enforcement agency to collect half a grand. these people are extremely selfish and have waited for that long only to steal money from me (even though the bill had already been paid and a bank statement had been provided as evidence). The worst council ever, they deserve to be behind bars!!!!!!!!!

Food bin waste not collected again. Harrow standards are a horror storey. I personally would give them Nil Points Sack the lot of them. It seems they are only part time amateurs. Anyone one up there ever had a real full time job? Angry tax-payer

I’m writing this review because yesterday I was to Council to ask for a few information about the parking permits. Everything starts well , but what followed made me very sad. A mrs whose name is Maggie and a mr whose name is Khiardin , I hope I write the names correctly , made me to want to write this complaint. When I got there, I gave to the lady the car rental agreement and the council tax as proof of adress, and she asked me about what I really want and when I told her again that I want to know something about the parking permit, because I have the car at Harrow Leisure Centre because the parking thickets machine from Masons Ave is not working. With her was that guy too , and they tell me to go to their collegues from office , because they can help me. Everything was ok since I turned around to the offices, and I heard the men telling to that lady that “he don’t want to talk with romanian people” , and of course , both of them started to laugh. When I heard that, I turned back to them , and that men , this time I saw the men from security giggling with them too. That was what made me fell like nothing , and I asked them for their names. This is not normal in a country like this, and this is clearly racism, a racism whitch I really don’t understand. I have the right to work here like them, I have the right to ask someone if I don’t know what to do, and I think it’s not normal to go to an institution like Council and to be greeted by racist people, how don’t want to help you, even if this is their job.

The website is as user unfriendly as it is possible to be. Form didn't download. Chat bot is an idiot that only wants to talk about council tax. Automated reply to emails but promised further reply doesn't materialise. If you want people to do more online get someone to check that information can be easily found, downloads work, chat bot is not demented, emails get actual replies etc. Basic communication should not be this difficult.

A council who is so far out of touch with their own residents it is embarrassing. Good luck calling them and speaking to somebody with an IQ higher than 14. Don't waste your time thinking your query will be resolved in anything less than 3-6 months. What makes it so appalling is that the way the council is run - which makes somewhere which is genuinely nice to live in, a horrible place to be. I have grown up in Harrow, been schooled here, I have owned and still own businesses here. I try to be a real advocate for the community. But sod all that, if they can squeeze a couple of pennies out of you for no reason they'll be right on it. And judging by every single other review, I'm certainly not the only person to think so.

Absolute scum. Will charge you £130 for driving down a road (following google maps) which a small sign says is only for buses and taxis. Try to pay online and it will decline your card. Try to pay by phone and it won't recognise your card number. It's the same nationwide card I use every day. They just get off on making people miserable.

Harrow council is there as a job creation scheme with no real concept of service. Given the number of bad reviews i am surprised that there is no reaction. Esp. the website claiming that they have some 80% satisfied customers. Obviously someone needs to see what they classify as satisfied!! There is no real way to contact the council. There are some numbers on website but no generic number. Other councils have a generic phone number you can ring. Even going to the council office does not get you anywhere.

I had to change my review in the light of recent events. The original review was great when we were arranging our wedding registration and everything went smoothly. 6 months later we got nothing but grief because of the messed up garden bin collection. We paid for the service and every single time the bins were ignored. We reported the missed collection online and they were still ignored. I complained in writing and nothing changed. I complained again, and again nothing changed. I called them and got the "Computer Says No" reply on figuring out what's happening and why. Last year was no problem, this year the garden bin collection decided to scam us and ignore us. Nobody cares, nothing gets resolved, no matter what you do.

Is there anyone at the Council who has the dignity to reply to at least to one of the comment below? How could you ask to pay an high price for the council tax and do not deliver an half of decent service? What do you guys do all day? Why the website never gets updated with the right information? Awful service, no direct line available, no live chat available, part -time hours! that's what you do. You need to spend a good 45mins at least before to speak to someone who has no clue of anything and passing the ball to someone who is even worse. How could you not be ashamed when you back go home and think how much nothing you have done? I bet the only people who have rated above the one star are actually the people who works there!!

My father is an OAP and does not have a computer. When he tries to contact the council either a recorded message says to look up the information on the internet or when he finally gets to speak to some one after waiting for an hour, they usually tell him to look up on the internet. He is paying for the council yet not getting any service.

This council is manned by totally inept staff members and managers who refuse to talk to any resident over the phone because they are hiding underneath their desks for fear of being abused by the public for total incompetence. Their front line staff who handle calls are completely ignorant and rude and have no powers to resolve any issue. Their website is rubbish, you are told to submit documents and complaints online and nothing happens. The dullards promise to call you back but never do, they send out summons for unpaid council tax without justification and then appear in their hordes at Willesden Magistrates Court to resolve the issues before the magistrates hear it. Total stupidity, all they have done is to shift the problem from their own premises to the Magistrates court forcing individuals to waste time and money travelling to the court just to present their defence. This council needs a complete clear out, sack everyone and hire people who are willing to do the job properly and interact with the public that they serve. Shame on you Harrow Council, dealing with those enormous rats in the Borough only after it was publicised on national TV news - you guys need to get off your backsides now and provide the service that you have been hired for because believe it or not, you are all public servants being paid out of our taxes. You need to realise that you are in your jobs to serve us the residents of Harrow, not harass us and frustrate us. Ridiculous that our tax payers money is being used to pay these non deserving idiots their monthly salaries. Just look at the huge number of complaints in addition to mine and still nobody in the Council can be bothered to apologise and improve their miserable service. I would rate this council zero stars if Google allowed it.

The area has turned into a dump.. literally, people just dump rubbish everywhere. Labour accused the Conservatives of demonising the Romanian community and said it was simply because they were unaware of how to sort rubbish. Of course, once Labour got hold of the Council the problem got ten times worse. It's an embarrassment to live here now, which is a shame as this used to be a clean and quiet area. Now we have people living in garages, sheds, 20 to a house and even in their vans. Not to mention the number of drinkers at all hours, also evident by the way they just chuck their beer cans/bottles in street, if not in peoples gardens. There is a huge cultural divide here in terms of disposing of rubbish and due to the volume of people, this has become a major problem. However Harrow Council insists that we still have to celebrate this cultural diversity. The council doesn't even respond to complaints, which is the main problem. People are reporting Illegal Multiple Occupancy (which is the main reason behind the bags of household waste on our streets) and telling the council who the fly-tippers are via their inadequate website but the Council doesn't even have the courtesy to reply. And don't for one moment think this problem is going to get any better, the council seem to take delight in approving the building of high rise flats on every bit of land available. Welcome to the new face of Harrow.

Bin collection service pretty useless. Pay for bin collection in your council tax then they rip you off with extra garden waste charge and don't empty the bin. Can't report missed bin online til end of the day - even when you see them drive off down the road early in the morning! Takes at least 20 minutes to get through to anyone and its not a freephone number. Only good thing is when you eventually get through to someone they are usually very helpful so the one star is for them and the green bin collection which is good.

Called out a parking enforcement officer as somebody had parked right in front of my driveway so I could not drive out. They promised to come within 20 minutes as they have a rapid response motorcycle team. When they eventually turned up 4 hours later, and after the offending car had already driven away, they blamed me for wasting their time. Disgraceful and appalling attitude to us council tax paying residents.
