Living in this borough since early 1980's, paying council tax on time and never late. Not one late or missed payment. But wow what a bunch of idiots, I want to use more foul language but I will refrain. I have been trying to get the council to remove a tree, several emails and phone calls still nothing has been done. I calculated i have wasted three WHOLE weeks on this which I will never get back. This has gone for TWO years. The residual from the tree is damaging my garden slabs, but let me guess harrow council wont come and clean that, I will have to do that myself. I would have thought council would appoint respectful staff who work their butts off for the local people and take pride, but I guess not. Might as well hire a monkey for half the wages they pay these people and get better results. May put that down as a suggestion on a survey. Sad times in the borough

Would literally give minus review if possible. Going through the reviews, they pretty much reflect every issue I've had in the last 4 years of living in Harrow. The list of stupid things they have so far done is ridiculous, including numbering 4 buildings the same number on the same street. 4 years and they still can't even get a bin collection right! Yet they will happily spend money on a chatbot for their site because it's so appallingly built. Yet won't deal with the overwhelming amount of fly tipping that occurs in the area. I'm sure this will be yet another unread review by them. Which is such a shame as this list pretty much summerises what their priorities should be.

Harrow Council should have collected my two small food waste bins on Thursday, they failed. Could not report on their website as it states not collected yet, although the rest of the road had been emptied. Telephoned and reported the problem. They confirmed it was their fault and gave a reference number and said it would be collected within two working days, which meant Monday as they don't work on weekends. They never turned up, so another phone call and a promise to "escalate" the complaint to the depot, which would take a further two working days (they don't seem to understand the meaning of 'escalate'). They also said they would ask their manager to phone me back, it never happened and they could not give me a reference number this time as I was informed the computer crashed. They asked for an e-mail address to forward the reference number when she sorted the computer problem, we received no e-mail. We are not allowed the manager's name or telephone number of the depot. Would anyone pay for a service which was not carried out? Harrow Council Refuse Department are a disgrace. Bins still not emptied and an army of ants taking residence.

The way you treat your residents is DISGRACEFUL!! You deliver on the 16th a FINAL council tax reminder dated the 10th, with a 7 days deadline to pay in full, and leaving people with just 24 hours. And the only language you talk, when someone is trying to ask for your understanding of circumstances, is blame! Shame on you.

Should be a no star rating. Moved to Harrow from South London. Hoped for an exciting change. 6 Months later we are moving back to South London. Council tax a rip off, no service or support. You can't phone them, staff useless. Randomly demand immediate payment on large chunks of money of 700+ due to their miscalculations, with no repayment option. Fly tipping outside our house, reported several times but yet messy skips and mattresses remain from before we even moved in. Water company overcharge, you are billed as standard water amount a family 4+ wouldn't use. Overground line is horrendous, unreliable and staff at all Harrow stations are unhelpful and clueless, especially Harrow and Wealdstone. Rude. And there is just so little to do in Harrow, as previous review stated all leisure is knocked in favour of cashing in on flat builds. Read the reviews before you make a big move like this. Don't make our mistake.

It has taken Harrow council over 12 weeks for a car parking permit in spite of contacting them 8 times to tell them about it. Never have I recieved any response in 12 weeks until I used the 'resolver' service when an outside organisation has has contactes them. I have requested 4 new permits and contacted them using the only method they allow you to using their 'contact us' online form multiple times. I have also used their complaints form, tweeting and evan a call to civic centre to be told there is no council car parking number available (and yet they charge residents for parking). Diabolical council service. Still waiting for any one of my 8 attempts to contact them to have a reply to my issue. 3 months of a 12 month pemit time lost thought their incompetence. Not fit for purpose.

I spoke to Danielle in Council Tax department. The most rude and unhelpful team member. Danielle showed no interest in my problem. Danielle interrupted me rudely 3 times and did not try to understand my situation. At the end conversation end by getting the weblink to report the issue and raise complaint about service. The most horrible customer experience with Harrow Council. Harrow council need to take action on this kind of rude behaviour. Council tax paid by people and people working in the council are getting paid by the council tax payers. So please show politeness and courtesy while you are answering the call to resolve their challenges.

Maybe it depends on the service, but I have dealt with Harrow in a professional capacity and as a resident and I think they are very good. I would not want to have to do the job that the Social Workers, Housing Officers, Planners etc have to do, with the massive reduction in resources allocated to councils but at the same time the huge increase in needs.

Moved in 2 and a half years ago and have been trying to get a blue bin since then. it should have been with the property when I moved in but I never had one and apparently have to pay £70 for one now... I don't drive so I can't go to a recycling centre; too often my bin is slightly open so not taken (not to mention the bags I have piling up in my garden) The dingy place has been damp since I moved in and the best they've done for me is send me a leaflet (without even sending someone to assess) the leaflet was telling me to open my windows and having heating on at all times, keep cupboards empty clean and paint with anti fungal products as and when necessary, (anti mould is about £35 for 5l would cost me hundreds to do my home) buy a tumble dryer and dehumidifier... From the moment I have to pay out so much money and live so restricted (who doesn't put clothes on radiators or have cupboards full of tins?!) The property isn't up to a good enough standard. The only time you can actually have a proper conversation with them is if they call you because you owe them even a fraction of money. Shambles.

Electoral customer service I have been helped by a lovely lady called Ilenia from Electoral roll department to get my details amended and also to receive certificate of residency which helped me a lot in my dispute with credit score agencies who messed up my credit reports. Ilenia was so helpful and so kind as she literally couldn't do more in helping me. This lovely lady called Ilenia is a real benefit for Harrow council and I wish more members of staff were professional and kind like her. Thank you Ilenia, you definitely make the difference for Harrow Council!!

What a joke! No words to describe their appalling service! What a literally rubbish council! No street cleaning no bin collections but top amount for council tax. If I have to take my rubbish to recycle center what do I pay Harrow council tax for? No service at all. Utterly disgusting borough to live. What's the point of building new houses and expanding the area creating more living spaces for people if it brings great harm to residents especially regarding the rubbish!!!!!

This council is one of many who have signed up to kingdom limited to apparently fine people to keep streets clean and in doing so subscribe to their bullying tactics where I have witnessed a warden observing an area where builders working on stanmore library had their smoking breaks and continuously left their butts on the ground. The warden did nothing until a young girl did the same and he pounced on her. He ignored her being visibly upset and offering to pick it up and throw it away and fined her (50% of which goes to Harrow council)! Harrow streets are filled with littler, Harrow parks are filled with those gas canisters from people who use them to get high. Harrow alley ways are filled with fly tipping waste. Yet all over Harrow the council proudly boasts that over 8000 fines have been handed out. So where is all the money from the fines being spent exactly?? I received a call recently asking me to participate in a national survey being taken on local councils and they wanted to know my views on Harrow council. I urge anyone who gets this call from a 01422 number to pick up and let your feelings be known!

I have been on hold for 20 minutes and counting to speak to someone in the council tax team. After 20 minutes of holding I got through to switchboard for the second time. Another 10 minutes of holding and finally someone took my call. I am waiting for a refund of overpaid council tax from February. I have been told that they have not received the form even if I have a reference number and an email confirmation. Incompetent - this is the best word to describe Harrow Council tax team.

I called Harrow Council because they´ve sent a confirmation of my Direct Debit, addressed to someone that is not me. Can't understand this kind of mistake where my private info is displayed for someone else. I called and a brat called Rickon started crying to me after 2min. He didn´t understood what the issue was and took it personal (? I asked to spoke with someone else and again a guy called Tray LIED to my face saying that is not true, that my name was on the letter. He said a new letter will be sent to my hause. Never happen. Personal completely incompetent and not profesional at all. Can't take things serious.

Waste of time. I was issued a FPN whilst visiting relatives for a genuine accident. Officer told me to leave the shop I was in and totally embarrassed me. I disposed the item that I accidentally dropped on the floor but still get charged £100... what sense does that make? It's all a money making scheme. I wouldn't mind if the fine was more reasonable and was actually spent on trying to save the environment. No doubt it will be used for paying benefits and housing people that have no intention of working. So glad I don't live in the area anymore.

The worst council ever , the bin collection service staff has confirmed to me that they crashed my green waste bin and asked me to contact council for a replacement, every time I call after a long wait someone says it's not reported and they will get back to me and they won't. Alternatively I can pay again for a new one which I won't It's been ongoing for two months I probably have to go to my local MP for rubbish matter !!! Incredibly abysmal and shoddy service and the most rediculus and expensive council . It's not different to theft, is it ?

Missed bin "48 hours" to actually empty it is meaningless - They say it starts the day after it's reported but that's not included. So I reported on a Thursday evening (the earliest I could say the bin wasn't emptied). They recorded it Friday and they start counting on the Tuesday because of the bank holiday but it still hasn't been emptied and today is Thursday. They seem to have a very different idea of 48 hours than most people!

I ordered my waste bin on 5th September and I have been told that it won’t now arrive until December. The price I paid up front is significantly higher than for bins available online but only those with the Harrow Council logo can be used. So, the Council has a monopoly, resulting in the usual abuses: high prices and poor service. The managers at the Council should be ashamed and be held accountable.

Beyond terrible! It's a shame that you can't add zero stars! I have only bought visiter parking permits twice and on both occasions they have failed to arrive and I've needed to chase them up. Also, this year already, the council have failed to collect my bins on 3 occasions, even though on their website it says that they have been collected. Each time, I have contacted the council to say that they haven't been collected and then I receive an email saying they will be collected in 2 working days. This doesn't happen, they instead collect the bins two weeks later, which is the normal service. I even asked for a partial refund (I know it would never happen) from my ridiculously expensive council tax due to them not completing a paid for service and I was laughed at. There is a reason that their score 1.2 stars!

*Harrow is undoubtedly THE WORST council in London. The area used to be a nice, posh, middle class one a few years ago, but is rapidly crumbling due to the incompetent and disinterested services offered by its council.* If you phone the council to resolve anything, you can be sure you will have to phone 3 or 4 times and still be lucky to see a conclusion to the matter. They just create more work for themselves because they can't resolve it the first time around, then the backlogs start. Staff are rude, incompetent and disinterested. They talk to down to customers in a very condescending manner and all they do is type lots of notes on their screens as you hold on. An average phone call to this council will take 40 minutes as you will be kept on hold listening to the same mind numbing moronic classical track over and over again for at least 15 to 20 minutes before anyone picks up your call. You will be wound up before you even get attended to. Once you get through you will realise how truly incompetent the staff are, they have no powers to do anything to resolve any issue. The glorified typists type voluminous notes for their equally incompetent managers who refuse to take any calls from the public. You will be told bluntly to submit any complaints through their website and it is so useless that the complaint will either never be submitted automatically or else they will falsely claim you never submitted it. 179 Reviews on Google so far and all around 1 star only because people can't give zero or negative stars to this useless, incompetent behemoth that hinders its residents rather than help them. In short, all staff from the bottom to the top are totally disinterested in providing any sort of genuine service for the borough as they are anxiously waiting for the big hand to hit the 12 at closing time so they can rush home. Salaries intact who cares about the residents. *NOTE: Next election is in 2018 (next year) so lets try and change the leadership as the current one is more useless than the disinterested staff they have employed.* ????????????????????????

After nearly 5 years still trying to sort out all the gas, electric, water, roof leaking issues with our flat that was trashed by the former drug addict tenant who still has the debt collectors banging on our door because harrow council housing department hasn't updated their council tax department to tell them that a new set of tenants moved in a year ago! And that's just scratching the surface. Would I recommend Harrow Council? Definitely, if you're wanting to die young, it's aged me a couple of decades in 5 years.

Received a excellent service from Shazina from Permtemp and I can say this establishment is a organisation that allows individuals to persue their careers, and I am extremely honoured to be a part of the team. They will always recifeany errors and are professional in thier approach to sensitive situations. Even though this contradicts my first review, but I have to give credit to them for the way they have acknowledged the error of an employee, and amended the situation which was honourable. Not every organisation puts their hands up and apologise, it is freshing!

Has to be the worst experience that i have had with a council. Tried to pay my elderly father's parking permit but they only allow for payments online through the account holder therefore would not take my money. When i explained the situation to a receptionist not until the third time of asking before i was able to get the answer that they only take online payments. Staff on the phone were miserable and borderline rude.
