Had a very positive experience at this store this Saturday. I came to pick up a bike I had ordered online, the staff told me that it was boxed as I had accidentally clicked this instead of ‘build bike’ when ordering. The manager (I think he was the manager) then said that he would be able to build the bike today. He was able to do it pretty much straight away as the shop was quiet at this time (I had expected to have to come back in a few hours). He was incredibly helpful and patient!! I was very happy to have left with a built bike and am grateful for the time they were able to spare. All staff helpful and friendly.

I bought a Scooter Xiaomi M365 and I was very Pleased Specially when I bought it from halfords the only reason I am writing this review because I was very impressed as a customer when I met some lovely Staff who really helped me a lot their names are : CHRIS and STEPHEN they both were a very big help. Again I want to Say Thank you Chris and Stephen and from now and on I will buy all my Bike Accessories and parts for my cars from Them recommended to all. A Wiseman.

My first experience at Halfords and it went just great. The team is just amazingly professional with such a genuinely friendly attitude, rarely found around. Ben, a lovely young human with a great attitude was so attentive and always ask me if I need assistance and even went to bring someone who could help me more, great Job Ben. :) Mr.Wayne, another great human that decided to help even that I just came in the shop without any appointments, he just decided to help a girl who was not sure how to fix the right shift, he fixed that and even made some extra efforts to straight the brakes and oiled my seat, and all of this for just some minutes, Many Thanks, Mr.Wayne! The girl from the till, Shelley, if I am not mistaken was just amazingly professional and friendly too. Many Thanks for sure I'll choose you in the future. Keep it up!!!

Went to pickup my bike I ordered online, the staff also offered to fix the mudguards that I brought to the store - really great customer service! But we had trouble getting it fixed to the bike because of the build, but Wayne was very patient and figured a way to sort it out. He was very professional and the store can be quite busy at times because of the size. Overall the staff was also friendly and my experience in this store has been positive. Thanks guys!

I just bought my new goodman from Halfords and it’s an amazing ride. Ben was very friendly and smiley. Wayne was amazing talking me through how to use my bike, taking the time to explain things to me, and being patient with me. I can find these places quite intimidating but Wayne was so warm and friendly that I felt I could ask him to repeat the questions I didn’t understand, I got a really good vibe from this shop. It wasn’t pretentious like so many bike shops are. Everyone was friendly and down to earth. Because if this I have no worries about asking for their help in future when I take my bike in for servicing.

The guys who work in this shop do genuinely seem lovely but the shop is way too small and understaffed to manage the amount of customers who visit this store. I waited 45 mins to pick up my bike and pay for it as they were so backed up. They’re lovely here but wouldn’t advise coming here if you’re in a rush...

Useful to have a locally accessible store, but bike tyre ordered on-line (and declared in stock) actually wasn't. It could have been a wasted journey, but a slightly different sized Marathon Plus was in stock and was suitable. Stock control not the best, because my receipt still said the size I ordered, not size received. Store cramped, badly laid out and lighting dingy. Till counters too small. Trying to do too much in a small space, so they need to look at their offering. Staff helpful, but working under trying conditions.

The one way system does not work as people coming in through the front door go straight to the queue. There is a huge cluster of people at the doorway, no social distancing. Unsafe shopping experience.

Pros: Brilliant work carried out on my bike (repairs and replacement) and honest staff with great customer service (thank you to Aaron, Ben, Chris and Juwell). Cons: Due to the high volume of work expect slow service. You may not get your bike on time but the quality of the work overrides that. Also, make sure you insist other customers observe social distancing as it can get overcrowded.

I went into Halfords to buy some bike lights and get my tyres pumped up, only to find out that my handle bars were lose! (I had bought my bike from somewhere else). They fixed and tighten them up ASAP and literally saved my life, they were really kind and caring and I have a lot to thank this amazing team for. Thank you Shan, Martin, Wayne, Fran and Izzie.

I bought a set of pedals on Ebay, but after a while the left one got loose and fell apart. I tried to put it back together but the pedals were clearly assembled by a machine and there was no hand tool I knew of that could do the job. I took it to Halfords just in case. The guys at the shop came to the same conclusion. But Wayne took a second look and found a way to put the thing back together. The boys spent a good 15 minutes sorting it out and managed to do it. When I asked How much I owed them, I was told not to worry about It. On a different occasion, while riding , I noticed I was missing a screw on my front wheel's disc brakes, I popped into Halfords and once again Wayne took one look at the issue and solved it in 2 minutes. there are not many bike shops I would recommend but this one is, these guys care and they really do want to help. Thank you Wayne!!

Awful. Website lets you buy items they don’t have in store for pick up the next day. Got a message saying to wait until item is ready to collect. That never happened. They also don’t pick up the phone. Refund takes 2-3 days. They’re a chain, not a small shop. It really shouldn’t be that difficult.

Took my bike in for a free service and feel it was a waste of time. Firstly, three employees asked me separately what I needed before someone told me what to do or where to go after I stood awkwardly in the same place trying to catch someone's eye. I don't like to complain about customer service as I've been in that role myself, but it's not very welcoming to ask someone what they're there for and then not tell them something along the lines of "we'll be right with you". Secondly, I had a service booked for noon and the employees just took my word for it instead of asking for my name and checking the system. Thirdly, I was made to hang about in the shop for the 15 minutes the checks were happening. Lastly, and most importantly, I was told that there was nothing wrong with my bike when I know for a fact that there is from the last time I got a (paid) service. Though my brakes were fine, I know the handlebars veer to the left and are too rusty to correct, as is the seat. In other words, I feel I wasn't looked after as a customer and my bike wasn't properly looked at here.

One of the most incompetently managed stores I’ve been in. Called checking if desired tires were in stock. Told yes come in later. Arrived later and store was too busy. Advised to attend first thing in the morning. Attended first thing in the morning and tires out of stock. Poor.

Super friendly staff but the layout of the shop isn’t suitable to maintain social distancing, front doors need to be automated as I ended up (happily) helping 5-6 customers to open the door while I was waiting to collect my online order. Covid could present a good opportunity to modernise the outdated decor and layout

I visited the Stoke Newington store to collect an online purchase I made on that day. There was no sign outside the store instructing the customer of any changes in relation to Covid-19, so I walked in (immediately after a white female had walked in). I went directly to the till which was located directly by the door and I informed the young lady at the till that I came for a pickup. As I was speaking to her a guy came to me and with a rough tone and attitude ordered me to wait outside. Again I said that I was doing a simple pick-up and that I did not see any signs outside about the protocol but again I was abruptly told to wait outside. I waited outside for approx 10 mins and watched another white female walk into the store. The same guy politely approached her and fully explained why she had to wait outside since no more than 3 persons were allowed in at any one time. This was a very different experience to me. When I was allowed in, I immediately took a quick video of the place because I did not see 3 plus people in the store. It was at this point that he realised what I was doing and came over to explain that only 3 people were allowed in at any one time. Even if this was the case, why was I treated so very differently and less favourably than the 2 white females. Why was this guy's tone and attitude so rough/harsh towards me????? I should have asked for a refund there and then, but I had a flat tyre and urgently needed the tyre inflator.

Bought a Boardman SLR by click and collect. The bike was delivered to the store on the 20th September I was supposed to collect it on the 24th. I heard nothing by the 28th so I called the store they told me the bike was there and didn't know why it wasn't built or why no one has called me. They apologised and said I can collect it on thes same day however I got no call back. I called back the next day and got put on hold for ten minutes then they hung up on. I still don't have the bike!

Utter shambles, avoid if you can. Store is not set up to allow you to be able to safely shop. The shop was understaffed and no PPE. Click and collect order took far to long to collect.

Staff had no idea what was going on. Zero communication. Nobody wearing masks. You are unable to browse and have to ask for a specific item and hope they can find it for you. Avoid until they sort out their social distancing.

Ordered a part online and confirmed with the online sales representative that they have “more than 8 of this item in the stoke newington store”. I received a text message saying that my order was ready to be collected. When I went to get it, they did not have it. They could not call other stores to check their inventory and it took 4 sales representatives without PPE and 25 minutes to get refunded. Terrible inventory management, customer service, and general care. Terrible experience all around - learn from my mistakes and avoid Halfords in general and this one in particular.

I placed an order for bike. This store was available early than my local store so I choose this store for collection. When we chased it up they lied that they tried to contact us. Wewent on time was specified on order for collection and they lied again that called us on such time. Even I called whole day no one answered. Tried to speak to store manger Wayne was extremely rude ddnt even hear me and walked off from phone conversation.Head office needs to sort this staff out. Instead of apology he was blaming customer for own failure to deliver customer expectation.he gave us a grief for no reason. I can prove no one called us and we called soamy time to store and no one answered. He for sure shouldnt be manager. I have call recording of this you can here how he approached. I was off from work for few days where I could enjoy bike ride with my daughter now I have to order again from elsewhere and by the time I get her a bike I will be back to work. I paid cab £25 too as I live far and I don't have. a car HEAD OFFICE NEED TO SORT THIS OUT

Where to begin... I ordered a bike for collection, with free bike build. They called me on Tuesday to say the bike had arrived and to arrange a collection time for Saturday 10:30. When I arrived at the agreed time, they hadn’t even unboxed the bike. Appreciate they’re very busy at the mo but they should give a more realistic collection time. They then took 4.5 hours to build it, all of which time I spent waiting by the store because they kept telling me it was nearly ready and I’d driven across London to collect it. Eventually they told me their engineer needed to look at it because they couldn’t align the gears and the engineer would need to bend one of the parts - but the engineer wasn’t arriving until 2pm. They then revealed that they had an identical bike downstairs and they’d build that one for me instead and it would be ready to go in 15 mins. 20 mins later they told me they’d just unboxed it and it was actually a different bike. So back to the original bike - when the engineer finally got it working (3pm) he said there was actually nothing wrong with it. They then gave it to me without the pedal straps, without one of the springs on the wheel quick release, and without the collection receipt. They also claimed the bike had only arrived that day - despite having called me earlier in the week to say it had arrived... They eventually offered £35 off after I asked what they could do - barely covered the cost of parking.
