Started off well. Greated and told where to find what I wanted. All down hill from that point. I was neither offered nor given any help selecting what I needed. I managed to select an item and attempted to pay for it. One of the 2 staff walked away as I approached the cash desk, the other staff member was speaking to another customer about his bike. After 10 minutes of waiting I explained I had a bus to catch and wanted to pay. At which point he came and took my cash. Will never go back and this experience has given a very bad impression of the Halfords brand.

Really poor costumer service. Arrived to the store to pick up an item I had reserved online, no greeting at all, I waited in front of the till about 10min in silence as no one checked what I was doing there, until I decided I to ask someone from the staff (which they were fixing a bike) if I could speak with someone about my item, the answer was there are costumers in front of you. So, they made wait more 15min without saying a word until finally another staff member showed up and sorted my order. LOW quality service

The day TSB held a meltdown and my funds didn't go into my account on time. Unfortunately for me, on this same day I had arranged a bday party for my son and I wanted to surprise him with a bike which he has waited desperately for ages for. I always buy my children's bikes from Halfords so visited the Stoke Newington branch, where I found a beautiful bike for £130 considering that I got there at 1:30pm and needed it set up to be set up for 4.30pm in time for the party at 5PM. The whole team including, Chris, Colisha, Steven and Joel gave me EXCELLENT customer service. First with Colisha helping me to find the perfect bike, and addressing my concerns in terms of size and age group. She was very polite and patient whilst I was trying to make my mind up. Then Chris stated that he would try his very best to get it fixed on time and was very professional making sure that they had the bike in stock before confirming order. After extensive begging and paying for the bike, Steven actually helped to fix the bike before I left the shop, this made me so happy and really impressed by the sheer teamwork and consensus the Halfords in Stoke Newington have. Joel provided me with the cycle care package available and told me about the other key extra parts I may need to buy. I ended up purchasing lights and the cycle care package and left an extremely happy customer. Thank you Halfords! Impressive!

Took my new bike here as another Halfords branch set it up incorrectly, and it was fixed on the spot. The guy (possibly Aaron?) who looked at it seemed to know his stuff and the bike is much better now, so I would trust this branch for a service in future. The store was a bit chaotic as he was the only staff member on due to people phoning in sick, but I assume this was a one off, and he handled the situation professionally!

I can't express.how much the staff here are just superb at customer service and totally exceeded my expectations. Just like to say a big thanks to Nick, who was brilliant in servicing my bike for my triathlon, which made a huge difference in my ride, and helped.me to achieve my best ever PB! Highly recommend this store, and totally worth the 6mile journey to get here for quality service.

Worst nightmare. Just brought in my bike that needs new wheels instead of stolen ones. Confirmed over the phone that it's OK. In the store found out that no mechanics are working in the next couple of weeks. What's more, they can't take the bike in. So I carried it back home, need to call in 5 days, then bring it again to get the parts ordered and stuff. The guy was sympathetic but that didn't really help to solve the problem

Staff in here are super helpful and knowledgeable. The head mechanic saw the problem immediately and knew what parts I'd need. Then also saved me time and money by telling me how I could do it myself, which I enjoyed. Will definitely be coming back. Also far cheaper and efficient than the other bike shops around Stokey.

Can not recommend this Halfords enough. I have an electric bike of the type they do not stock and was in desperate need of a fix. Between them the staff there (Sharna and Alex) figured it out (with some little tweaks from Aaron), despite the fact that the bike shop where I had bought the bike was very unhelpful and rude on the phone when we called for advise. The service I received really was excellent - they could easily have sent me away with "we've never seen this type of bike before, sorry!" but they got it done and all while I waited! Will definitely be going back there and would 100 % recommend them. Halfords should be proud of their staff - Sharna, Alex and Aaron!

My name is Malik and I have been a customer at Halfords Stoke Newington for quiet sometimes. I want to leave an honest great review on the service and customer service I have received at their Bike Store. I want to thank Chris and Dan who work at the Bike Section, and who have been a real good help to me and to my friends when needing to service our bikes. I have received the best service that any customer would really ask for. They were real kind and helpful to all of us. I have never ever received a such real good service and politeness from any bike stores or any other places when shopping. They did fix my kids bikes a numerous of times and the service was excellent and real good. Their customer service skills was right on top. I would keep recommending them to all my friends and anyone needing to use their service. I would like to take this opportunity in wishing them the best great continuation with their hard real good work. Thank you all!

These guys are fantastic! Had taken my bike to two other bike shops prior as my chain was crunching when cycling with the small cog in 6 and those shops had not been able to fix. So then took it to Halfords and they identified the problem immediately and fixed it in a day (simply replaced the chain). Would recommend to all!!

As others have remarked before me, if only there were a zero- or even negative-star rating for this particular branch. I bought a kick scooter from them about a month ago and it proved to be defective within about 3 weeks of using it. Took it back to the store and ordered a replacement, which meant another long 1-2 weeks' worth of waiting, only to find out that item was defective as well. Asked for a refund, but was refused it because I didn't have with me at the time the card through which the original payment had been made, and a particular member of staff suggested i might be able to get it processed via Customer Service. Customer Service, in turn, refused to do so, saying it's against company policy and only stores can process refunds, since customers can only 'reserve' items online, the actual purchase always taking place in-store. Went to the store yet again, only to be told I couldn't get my money back-at least not readily so, i.e. not before the manager came over- because, according to the information on the system, the initial scooter had never been returned. Which was, of course, an outright inaccuracy, since I had brought it in on the day of applying for a replacement, and, ironically enough, the same member of staff who said that to me had casually suggested that day that it wasn't even necessary to leave the faulty vehicle there. Another call to Customer Services had the call centre agent contact the store, and then I was contacted by a third person who invited me over yet another time and promised the refund would be processed this time. Have yet to find a free slot on my busy schedule to that end. All in all, this whole travail has cost me GBP 49 for the scooter itself and at least 4 inconsequential trips to the store. The service is shockingly bad, the waiting times STARTING from 15' (in my experience), the staff seem to be unengaged and uninvested (don't blame them, really!), the store is severely understaffed and I am utterly indignant. NEVER AGAIN! I FEEL UNVALUED, CHEATED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF! CUSTOMER BEWARE, STEER CLEAR OF THIS PARTICULAR STORE (and any other Halfords, if it's representative of the company culture). YOU MIGHT THINK YOU ARE GETTING A GOOD BARGAIN BUT, CONSIDERING YOU ARE BUYING ZERO SERVICE AND DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS, YOU ACTUALLY AREN'T!

Bought a bike last year and got the care plan as well. I only used the bike over the summer of 2018, a total of 3 months. The bike wasn't the best bike but since it was an inexpensive one I didn't really mind it not having the best brakes or a lot of gears. Fast forward a year later, bike hasn't been used for for 8 months- it has been safely stored at my office during this period and the air has come out the wheels and need to be pumped at this point. Summer is around the corner and I wanted to start using my bike again, my care plan is still valid so I thought i would take this opportunity to have it serviced which is included with the care plan that I paid for (£25). Once at the shop they tell me I have to buy new parts that in total worked out to the same price as the bike itself. I obviously that this was crazy and would never agree to do this. I didn't even know the bike needed new parts I only thought it needed the tyres to be pumped/replaced if need be. They then insinuated that I was lying and that I had been using the bike all year long and that it was my fault for not coming in earlier to service it-completely embarrassing me in front of a shop full of people. I ended up leaving the bike at the side of the road because it became apparent that they sell bikes that are faulty from the get go, which can justify their low prices on some of the bikes, to later charge astronomical prices for parts that need replacing (even when you've paid for the cycle care plan). It was not worth arguing with them knowing that I full well had not been using the bike whatsoever for most part during the 12 months since it was purchased. This bike was brand new as well when I bought it. They wanted me to believe it was perfectly normal to have 2-3 bike parts changed on a yearly basis. That was the moment I stepped out the shop because any experienced bike owner would know this is absolute B-S. Lesson learned on my end, you get what you pay for. Dont go to Halfords, go to a proper bike shop if you want your bike to have a longer life span than 3 months.

Five stars for the staff service. Recommend this place for inexperienced cyclists, I got got clear patient advice, without being patronised (in contrast to some other precious cycle shops nearby). Even when the weather is hot, the hour is late and the shop crowded, these guys maintain highest service standards. Halfords, I hope you're treating your Stokey staff well because they truly deserve it

BEST SERVICE IN YEARS! My partner and I bought bikes online and tried building them ourselves. We did okay, 90% on one, 75% on the other, but ultimately, we had to wheel them to Halfords in hope they would fix them up for us and make them road-worthy. They went above and beyond! Steve was incredible, an absolutely amazing gentleman who was so friendly, knowledgable and helpful we were blown away. Working on our bikes with Steve was Aaron who was also an absolute dude. We left there feeling like we had paid £1000s for the service, when in reality, we paid very little to have our bikes road-safe and our minds put at ease. I HIGHLY recommend this place and I won't go anywhere else for my bike from here-on-in! Thanks Steve and Aaron, you guys seriously rock!

I wanted to get a gold service for my bike. That was on a Monday evening. I was told I'd have to leave it there until Thursday, when the service would be done, and it would only be ready Thursday afternoon. Is that ridiculous or what? If a service is only done on Thursday, why do I need to leave my bike in the shop from Monday? The service guy told me that this is the way it is at all bike shops, and that no one would be willing to book me in for a specific time slot to bring my bike. Well, surprise surprise, Evans Cycles was quite happy to do just that. I got myself a slot, so I just need to bring in my bike in that day and it'll be ready in the afternoon. What's more, as they've currently got a sale on, it'll be quite a bit cheaper than Halfords.

I would not recommend to visit the store for repairs especially due to employing staff which have lack of experience fixing bikes and providing customer service. Avoid overall only member of staff Sam and Marcus is really helpful and really experienced rest require further training in all fields.

Deserve 0 stars. I had booked a bike for collection on Saturday. Had a missed call at 10.30 AM on Saturday, called back at 11 AM and was greeted by a member of staff who can I describe as a typical London street kid. Could barely speak English properly and started being rude from the get go. Told me I could not collect on Saturday and that someone else has taken the slot as I had missed the call. I said that was fine and I would have to rearrange for another day. I had assumed the booking was cancelled. This was fine. Later that evening I placed another booking this time for collection at 4pm Sunday. Did not get a call on Sunday morning so decided to call in (around 11.30 AM). Same guy unfortunately answers the phone. This time he tells me to come in at 4pm. I explain that I had not received a call for confirmation and I wanted to check if the bike will be built and ready to pick up. He then rudely kept insisting the bike would not be ready till 4pm and that I should come in at 4pm. After some back and forth he told me to stay on hold and that he would check with staff responsible for building bikes. I was on hold for 25 minutes. I ended the call and gave them a call back. A lovely lady answered the phone I told her I had a booking and she put me on hold for 2 mins. I was told I could pick the bike up at 4.30 PM all good. So 10 minutes later I get another call. Its Mr Roadman Shaq wannabee again. So on Saturday I had a reservation for 2 bikes, apparently I was supposed to call back and cancel this according to this member of staff. At no stage was I told I should do this. But this extremely rude person then decides to have a go at me for 'messing up their system'. The irony is that if he had said both bikes could be built and ready for collection on Sunday I would have bought both, we needed two bikes.. I am generally really patient and asked him a few time what the actual issue was. Instead of explaining what the problem was this guy continues bashing me for not calling them back yesterday? I told the idiot to shut up and cancel the order. After cooling down I decided to call back to file a formal complaint with the store manager. Spoke to the assistant manager and he explained they have had complaints with the same member of staff before & that he was new. They offered me free headlights and other freebies but there is no way I'll ever be stepping foot into this Halfords store. Just a heads up and warning to anyone out there, I would avoid this branch. Apparently they like employing wannabe gang members with low level english let alone customer service skills. Ruined the long weekend as we had planned to go riding on Monday.

Has the worst customer service and unskilled so called mechanics they cannot replace a inner tube and had to take back twice as glass inside the Tyre not removed. Avoid using them if you want your bike to function. Properly.

I bought a mountain bike from them. They scratched my front fork while tuning it. They don't know how to adjust hydraulic brakes. They said, your bike wheel might have poo on it, so we can't risk adjusting the brakes due to health & safety. Don't use their bike maintenance plans, they are not worth it as they do not have skilled bike mechanics at any of their stores. I tried two different stores without any luck. In the end I had to adjust my own brakes.

Absolutely rubbish service, changed the tube without my consent and infact put a wrong one in. Waiting for a week to get it exchanged for the right one. Old sport American accent guy is good, rest is just there to rob your money in exchange of services to make your bike worse. I wish there was a zero i could give.

I've been into this shop many times over the last year and every time I am blown away by how helpful and knowledgable the staff are. Halfords has a bit of a bad name amongst pretentious cyclists, but I have found the people working in this branch to be as committed and professional as any 'local bike shop'.
