I absolutely love my Step Through Lightweight! The production time was about 6 weeks longer than what I was told when ordering it, but I feel like some people tend to forget that the Brexit transition period ended this year and there is also still a pandemic going on. Customer service during the delay was fantastic and actually pretty proactive in my case.
Shipping to Germany took another 4 weeks, but this was 100% TNT messing up and customer service at Temple was once again great and super helpful.* Assembling the bike was a lot easier than expected, and I was able to do it alone with no prior bike-assembly-experience.
I was actually amazed by how well it rides when I went for the first spin. I live in an area that gradually goes uphill and used to think that me getting easily out of breath when cycling here was due to my fitness, but it turned out that most of it was due to a very lousy bike. I'm now really good at finding excuses to ride my bike everywhere and I'm very much looking forward to using it for commuting, which was my reason to buy a better bike in the first place.
*If anyone finds themselves in a similar situation (customs withholding the package for weeks, because they say they are missing information): The incoterms are in fact stated correctly on the commercial invoice, what TNT is supposedly missing ("DDP + destination city") can be found at the very end of it.

I love it. I ordered and recently collected the AD 1 from the Brick Lane shop. Life feels properly sweet when I ride it. It’s genuinely a thing of beauty. Steve and Susie were always super helpful and friendly and they even kept the shop open when I arrived late to collect it due to having mild to moderate stomach issues, which I suspect was due to eating too much beetroot the night before! Many thanks to Temple for crafting something so timeless, fun & beautiful. Definitely well worth the wait - and when I’m not riding it, I’m more than happy just looking at it!

My bike is absolutely fabulous, I am thrilled with it and, in terms of the product itself, have only good things to say. The 3 star rating is more to do with the buying experience. I eventually received the bike around 7 weeks after the arrival time quoted when I bought it, which isn’t a crisis, but there were no comms from Temple communicating the delay. Even after I chased the first time, and they apologised for not having informed me of the delay sooner, there was then another 4 weeks of nothing before I eventually chased them again. When I did speak with them they were really nice, and like I said the bike is great, but they really should get on the front foot a bit when it comes to communicating updates with their customers - 6 months is a long time to wait and it would have been nice to have been kept informed.

Overall now everything is sorted it is a great bike, a lovely ride and great looking. We are even considering ordering another in the near future. However we had a few issues.
Due to understandable huge demand the bike was something like 7 weeks later than expected (approx. 21 weeks in all). We were not told of the delays proactively and instead had to chase each time (I think 3 times in all, being told each time it was a couple of weeks away).
We had ordered it to be delivered to the store and it was instead delivered to our home on short notice and we had to build it ourselves, then take it to the Temple store for a few tweaks and fitting etc, minor bits of snagging that not being very knowledgeable about bikes we couldn't do ourselves and why we had ordered to store.
Unfortunately the rear mudguard was dented and bent during postage which stopped the rear wheel turning. We had to free up the back wheel to take the rear guard off to actually get the bike to the store.
Overall the process was frustrating and took the edge off the new bike. That said Temple always responded quickly to any issues and when we took it to the store Steve the manager was very good and got everything sorted for us to ride away happy.
Everything said we love the bike but the process wasn't without issues unfortunately.

I ordered my bike in August and am still waiting for it. The original lead time was 3 months but the latest estimate is end of March (7 months from date of order). I’ve been told the bike will be ready, and then it’s not been, a number of times. They’ve not been proactive at all and I only find out when I contact them to see if my bike will be delivered as expected. If it’s delivered in March I’ll update my review.
Update: I've now received my bike, just over 6 months after ordering. It's a nice bike.

A beautiful little bike shop with lovely handmade bicycles. The staff was extremely knowledgeable especially Laila and Susie whom helped me with advise on the kind of bicycle I would need for simple commuting.
Definitely pay them a visit if you need a new bicycle!

Still have not received the bike ordered in September, which I understand to some extent given the circumstances. The issue has been service, we have to proactively chase them for updates every time. If they say they will call you back they likely won't, and you certainly won't receive any order updates without sending a few chasing emails. Very disappointed with the service, at a time of a lot of uncertainty you would think they would try to give their customers some clarity where they can.
Can't comment on the bike, I've been told 'maybe March or maybe sooner.' - still waiting for them to return the call as they said they would 2 days ago.... seems I'm not the only one who has had this experience.

My stepthrough lightweight bicycle arrived yesterday- after a very long wait. So long I almost forgot about the order. Tonight I took it out for a spin and I'm in love. Not only does it look absolutely stunning but it is so love to ride. It was worth the wait. She is almost too pretty to use.

I tested one of the bikes last summer at Clerkenwell Design Week, and had a lovely cycle through the city. Fell in love with the bikes, and now the proud owner of one. The process was so easy and smooth, and everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable on what would work for what I needed. The bike itself is so well made, and really smooth to ride (even on the pot hole ridden roads of SW London!) Already had lots of comments and compliments on the bike - lots of love for the lichen green! Thanks to Steve and Susie for getting me on my way.

The Temple Crew are the Real Deal.
And so is their Adventure Disc.
Having dealt with founder Matt, and his colleagues, Alex, Dexter and Garance, I can vouch for their naturally low-key, genuinely high-quality customer service ethic.
Garance in particular went beyond the call of duty in letting me know timings and sorting out logistics throughout lockdown.
The bike rides incredibly smoothly. I am not a professional or even a knowledgeable amateur – you will have to read other reviews for the tech spec stuff. Just someone who has always really enjoyed cycling. And the Adventure Disc could not be more perfect. The Hunt tyres cover rougher rural roads without fear of popping, great in the long winding lanes of the countryside, and super smooth on better quality roads. And sure, who cares at one level, but it does turn heads from other cyclists, as they admire the Brooks leather saddle, handlebar straps, and the sleek retro lines.
One personal choice I am really glad I made – I added the extra Brake Lever Option in the form of Tektro RL720 Cross top Levers which make for very comfortable and easy riding when you don’t want to drop as far forward as the conventional brakes.
The choice of racing bikes out there is bewildering. If you want a great value, classically-designed but modern equipped, all-road/terrain, drop handle bar racer, and you want to deal with genuinely helpful and easy-going specialists, then I could not recommend Temple – its people and bikes – highly enough.
And as another reviewer wrote, great to support a small Bristol-based business.

Jules and Pip were just the most amazing help when I popped in to look at an Adventure Disc.
I’d already narrowed my search down to a Shand Stoater or Enigma Escape whilst also looking at some more mass-produced models like Cinelli Hobootleg, Horse all-road and Genesis Tour de Fer 30, but really wanted to check out Temple.
Jules in particular couldn’t have been more knowledgeable and helpful, setting up two bikes for me, letting me test 3 in total and walking me through options from colours to tech and features. I was interested in frame sizes, not sure of the new double crankset fad (I’ve only ever had triples), but I was walked through it with attention to detail and not once made to feel like a numpty.
As often with these things its the customer service that makes the sale and, whilst maybe not today, they have made a sale for sure. By the way the bikes are excellent and crafted to perfection. Thanks again guys!
