I was in Brighton for 9 days, and found myself returning to this lovely pub, 3 times! The food was so top notch tasty. Great vibe, friendly service, great gin selection. Attracts a nice crowd as well. If I lived here, it would be my local for sure!

Go to place for a Sunday roast. Absolutely outstanding. Best I've ever eaten. Trendy decor without being pretentious. Good music. Warm and friendly staff. Great place for a drink. A*****

We went today for a Sunday roast and it was delicious. We had the chicken and it came with all the trimmings. The chicken was succulent and portions were massive. It was a bargain at £14.50. I've paid more for a roast newby and this beat them hands down. The service was great and made to feel welcome. The pub was all set up well within COVID regulations so we felt safe coming in. Once we're able to get out to the pub again, we'll definitely be coming back. This is a must visit for anyone who likes great food and drinks.

Friendly staff and great roast. Been here a few times for a drink, this time tried their roasts and I was impressed. The prices ranged up to £15 for the beef, plenty on non-meat options if that's your want and in general all very good value. The food itself was good, the beef was particularly tasty, veg was good but slightly firm, yorkshire was good size but not perfect and I'd have liked more gravy (it was very tasty). Overall I definitely recommend it here

We booked a roast the Sunday before the second lockdown, we even called and checked the veggie options were available, only to arrive and be told the two options were sold out by 2pm!!! Absolutely livid they hadn't catered to vegetarians in this day and age. No one offered to sort out a substitute or help in any way. Awful service, won't be going back.

Half way through a huge and delicious Sunday roast, good meat an wide selection of vegetables cooked to perfection, still crunchy and tasty, possibly the second best pub roast I have ever had and very good value. Beers are good, bit pricey but well kept and good range. Decor and atmosphere relaxed, good music, staff friendly, what more could you want?

Visited here yesterday, not sure the pub has the same vibe as it had before the refurb!! Was very quiet, little atmosphere! Maybe storm Dennis to blame!!! However the food was excellent, between us we had the pasta, pie and various sandwiches and they were all absolutely delicious, big portions and presented beautifully, will definitely be back for more of that

Came in on a Monday evening. The decor of the place is incredible. Beautiful pub feel. Service was incredible. The two behind the bar being very attentive. Got a couple of drinks and sat down. Had a Monday roast which was absolutely incredible. Best roast ive had in a long time. The rump of lamb was falling apart but in a good way. Beautiful amount of food. Got a dessert to finish. So beautifully crafted. Definitely a very hidden gem of Brighton.

Felt sorry for staff who appeared to be trying but unfortunately this is a shambles. Constantly crashing app the only way to order, after 35 mins of frustration walked out. This covid thing is rapidly separating the pubs that can manage and those that can't... I will try again in a month as I'm local and really hope you sort this out. On the plus side they also offer half price drinks alongside this Gov eat out scheme, great idea, terrible execution

Had a lovely lunch here. Decent size and really warming pub grub. Nice atmosphere on a Saturday afternoon and very friendly staff. They do a really good bottomless prosecco brunch deal too, for those stormy Saturdays!

I live near this pub and have always had positive experiences. The beer selection is good the staff are polite and there is a positive atmosphere. They allow dogs which is ideal for me as we can pop in on the way back from a walk.

Thought I'd give it a another try a few months after the opening. Bar service is still good, but here I am at 9.30 on Friday night paying £5.50 for a pint of Island Record Porter.... why? Food service has finished and the place is almost empty. Sorry to ask but what happened!?!? Feels like the place is trying to impose a overpriced vibe on the Hove crew... Sort it out!

Had an 'Old Hove and Tonic' and a 'Orange and Basil Ale'... Yeh it sounds weird... but errrr really nice actually. ???????????? Now with seating in the gin yard / smoking area. Recommend the bottomless brunch on a Saturday and the roasts on Sunday.

A 'proper' pub with a good selection of real ale & wine. Busy late on Saturday afternoon which is always a good sign. Interesting decor from clocks to traffic lights. Good atmosphere.

Lovely old building, nicely decorated. Very friendly place, nice staff and great selection of drinks, over 80 gins at my visit ???? Level access to main bar area but not so great for disabled customers who want the loo - toilets on a lower level at back of pub so a few steps and tables to negotiate, nice and clean though. Didn't look to see a food menu so can't comment on that. Delicious pink pepper gin and Mediterranean tonic, the lady behind the bar is very knowledgeable and friendly. I'd visit again. Oh yes, and right by a bus stop ????

I used to love this pub as I was always welcomed and cheered up by the amazing Alex. From the first time I went there one afternoon with my friend Dawid... She made us feel like old friends immediately and was the reason I kept going back there. Good bar staff make the difference between an OK pub and a great one and I'm very sorry that she has suddenly disappeared as it's simply not the same without her. Still a decent pub but I do appreciate great bar workers and tend to follow them wherever they go...

This is the best kept secret in Hove. The Sunday Roast dinners are absolutely the best. The local ale is delicious. Please keep it to yourselves so I can always get a table.

Good selection of drinks in tap, loads to choose from, and a really wide variety of gin as well. Bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the decor was interesting. Comfortable seating with plenty of space. Quite load.

A whole host of different beers which will suit everyone, a little on the pricey side but worth it for the lovely setting. One of my favourite pubs and one I go to regularly.

A really nice refurb of this pub. Really friendly staff and customers. They have a great selection of ales and gins, although it is a little on the pricey side, especially considering its location. There's a nice little courtyard at the back for a bit of outside space.

Fab pub and we had a great night at the quizz last night. Polite and friendly bar staff and extra big credit to the young lady working there. She came to clear our bottles away and brought over a new one and card machine to pay without a fuss, excellent service. Toilets clean and tidy. A really nice evening and certainly a great time to visit. We'll be back again as it's just down the road.

This place is a real find. Went in for the first time tonight, would normally order a pint in a pub. But after chatting to Jamie behind the bar went for some gins. Had an amazing pineapple gin that had been slow roasted with brown sugar, it was unreal. They have dozens of gin varieties to work through in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a visit!

Yeah it was alright. The fish pie was full of flavour but for some really weird reason it had carrot in it? Were they pretending that the carrot was salmon and no one would notice because it was dark in the pub? The toilets were gross though. It's been done up through out but looks like they ran out of money when doing the loo which is instantly off putting

A nice pub with quirky decor and nice lighting. The drinks weren't super cheap but also not ridiculously expensive. It has an old-timey feel and the music reflects that. They closed early on a Saturday though so don't expect to stay really late!

visited Brighton and stopped by this place. Wasnt expecting much as i'm not a heavy drinker but there was so much gin that the bartender managed to find something that i liked. Also there were plenty of tasty vegan food options on the menu to keep me happy and provided for. Good atmosphere, approachable and helpful staff. This was definitely a good discovery.

Great selection of gins. No cocktails in here. The pub has been done up to expected modern standard. We only had 1 drink in here and had to sit down the back. Seemed very popular.

Great new renovation. Lots of craft ales on tap and more varieties of gin than you could possibly make your way through. Sunday lunch is great and the daily menu is solid. If you are on Church Road it is worth popping in for a pint.
