Oh how this palace has changed since I first moved here! Back then it was nationalist flags on the wall and a chilly welcome from the drunks propping up the bar. Fast forward 5 years and what a transformation. Now at the heart of the Church Road night life, has the best selection of gins in Brighton and Hove and great atmosphere.

Good pub nice food good atmosphere,the bar staff are very friendly I would recommend this place for a good night out,its one of my locals good food reasonable prices.the food might i add is very fresh, ive just had steak pie mashed potatoes gravy & broccoli & which was s crisp The there's also a vegan menu which is comprehensive.
There a beer garden at the back outside it has heaters and you can have an after dinner smoke.

Used to be a old school pub. They renovated it to make it a bit more hipster. The prices went up as well of course. Its okay to hang around for a Pint. They have an extensive Gin selection though which is quite nice.

Horrible now it's changed! Bland and hipster by numbers interior about 10 years too late. Lost it's heart and soul from when it was more gritty with the fish tank and old carpets and curtains. Was far better when you could hang out with the oldies and enjoy a more traditional pubby pub. This incarnation is terrible and makes me sad inside.

Lovely little pub, food was lovely, family of 5 we all had a albion burger 3 with cheddar and 2 with brie side order of 2 lots of onion rings and a side order of mushrooms, wouldnt fault the food one bit also couldnt fault the staff either.

Beer good, Just a lunchtime snack off the "starters " menu (no sandwiches) but was good. Bar server helpful and welcoming though another staff member (?) very Brighton- pretentious.
Never visited in the evening but would certainly use again.

Food was awful. Reheated potatoes that collapsed when i tried to cut them, and a vegetable crumble that was made of flour based dust. So dry and tasteless i could hardly swallow it. Won't be going back.

Recently refurbished. Standard selection of beers, wines, spirits. Decor fairly contemporary. Clientele changed from sports/youth to couples, small groups of friends. No sports. Quite pricey.

Just tried the kebab and a pitta with hummus from the new menu and was massively impressed. They also had a small collection of hot sauces which were super tasty and brutally spicey.

Only 4 customers on the whole pub last night
Ordered the chowder took 40 mins to arrive
We ordered four different ones as they sounded great, absolutely disgusting full of salt. I love salt but even I couldn't eat them so we ended up eating half of one and leaving three
If you are going to specialise in something you should try to do it well
Would not advise to eat there
