After seating and ordering a dish the waiter confirmed that every dish is with nuts!
Don't bother going if you have a nut allergy, and of you are the owner of this restaurant you may want to make this more clear on your menu!!

I had a great night with my girls. Service and food was amazing. Atmosphere is excellent. Our waitress (a lovely curly girl) was lovely and funny at the same time, she also managed to get a candle on my friend's Eton mess for her birthday ????️????????.
Brilliant! Will come back again.

Well what can i say, after being allowed to be able to finally have a drink outside I took myself off to this place after reading the reviews, decided to ask for a large glass of dry white wine, was offered only cabernet sauvignon then when the bill arrived I nearly died £8 for a glass, how can you justify that price when other places around you are charging around £5-6, first and last time at this very overpriced place

Really great cocktails and wine along with good food. Service was fantastic and we were very well looked after.
The food is pricey for what it is, and if they want to keep charging those prices it does need to improve just slightly
This was a second visit after a very poor experience on a previous visit. I emailed them to highlight my experience and offer them the chance to respond and they went out of their way to make sure they apologised, explained what had happened and offered another visit.

Wow! What a beautiful place this is. First class Earl Grey tea with chocolate cake was such a treat. Spacious light upstairs seating area with comfy sofas and smiley staff. What more could you want?!

My friend and I went for Sunday brunch. We had a warm welcome and the atmosphere felt relaxed and happy. The staff were really helpful in assisting me to choose a meal, as I have a few specific dietary requirements at the moment. The chefs made an effort to make my portion of food the same size as my friend's despite the items I had to omit, which I appreciated! My veggie brunch was delicious and filling, thank you to the chefs! My friend said the cake she had (white chocolate and orange) was moist and yummy. I'll come again when I'm back in Hove :-)

Thanks to staff member Lisa our meal of hash bowls was replaced very quickly when my friend and I complained about the potatoes being undercooked. She was very helpful and we were not made to feel we were being difficult. I was very impressed with her service and thanked her for it. Second plates were spot on.

Used to be very nice, has really let themselves go after COVID hit, used to enjoy breakfasts in morning, but that has now changed. No more fry ups, the food isen't so bad but no where near to the quality and standard it used to be before. Their lunch was dry and not very nice. Let down after going for so many years.

Food was amazing, had the hash bowl and it was one of the tastiest breakfasts I have ever had. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is my group felt like a bit of “inconvenience” to some of the staff members. I can’t even put into words why, just a feeling but the food was on another level so I would highly recommend on that front!

We’ve been to Hixon Green a few times and really like the spaciousness and the service has always been great. On our latest visit for breakfast the food was a bit of a let down. Both lots of poached eggs were overdone with no runny yolks and the scrambled eggs were also either overcooked or left under the heat lamps too long.

Hixon Green was a great place for filming parts of my promo video. The coffee was delicious and the decor and furniture absolutely beautiful. It's very trendy and plush. It's a wine bar too. Definitely worth a visit. Parking can be an issue though so if you don't need the car leave it behind.

Really liked their decor and the staff was nice. We had vegetarian breakfast and avocado on toasts with eggs both of which were enjoyable. Our toasts were burnt but we happened to see the feedback was given to the chef and he instantly turned around and yelled at the cooks. This showed they cared. 5 stars.

Dreadful, sat waiting to be served..not a lot of people really (1130 on Monday) Whilst staff standing at counter in front of me just had a natter with each other whilst one of them made coffee ; only chap doing anything at the tables to take orders (eventually) was dark haired slim guy at door greeting - he was running around sitting people but as far as I could tell other staff were just waiting to collect orders to take to tables, but not actually serve anyone sat waiting, I was at least one of two ... Walked across the road after 10 minutes with menu on table staring trying to catch someone's eye... Noone even thought to ask if I'd ordered/was ready to order... Noone and several walked passed me carrying stuff - totally oblivious the other poor soul was in and out and forgetting where he was - who was where and waiting... (not his fault!) ...

So disappointing! Staff were in total disarray and it wasn't even busy. The manager on shift spent most of his time on his phone instead of helping his staff. They forgot to put someone's order through on the table next to us, he ended up just leaving and the staff member didn't even seem apologetic. Food was less than average. The place is all for show!

This is an attractive place to enjoy afternoon coffee and cake. Upstairs is very relaxing and elegant. There is a non accessible rooftop garden and the windows make it light. There's a range of seating to relax in. There's a small amount of outside seating. Service is very good.

Depends who's working as to what experience you get. Some staff go out of their way to make sure you have a lovely drink/meal, some leave you waiting and seemingly couldn't give two hoots.
Food is always a pretty decent standard and drinks are good. I'd recommend

Good to place to meet friends in the evening for a drink, or to work or meet for a coffee in the day
The food is also really good with a simple 3 step lunch menu
Table service is a nice touch and the big window upstairs has a good view
