Just don't understand the negative comments... staff are very friendly and polite. Food is excellent, we eat out alot both business and pleasure and this restaurant is up there with the quality and service. Food is cooked to order but the wait is worth it! Highly recommend this place to anyone!! amazing

Really good food and friendly service. Personally not keen on sitting next to a fish tank that could have been cleaner. Good to have paper towels for drying hands in the toilets. It seemed a member of staff had an odour issue which was unpleasant. Good sized portions but not sure we’d go back.

There are plenty of good Indian restaurants in Brighton, but this one probably isn’t worth your time. Ordered 5 items and 2 didn’t turn up. Upon calling the restaurant to clarify the mistake, I spoke to a man called Keith who started to get very defensive (talking about CCTV images) and made no attempt to either rectify the error or provide compensation. Proceed with caution.

If you are looking for traditionally styled Bangladeshi inspired dishes, this is the place to go in Brighton. My chicken Madras was very generous in portion size and the meat was top quality. The Madras sauce itself was fantastic, spot on. Friendly, helpful staff and attentive service. Great value too.

Lovely meal out!
very romantic,Was seated very quickly. Very clean with the new guidelines,staff wearing masks,hand gel on every table. Very welcoming and lovely staff. Very good service. And the food was amazing. I'd rate +10 stars if I could ????

A group of us have been here a couple of times and loved it each time . Very pleasant restaurant with very good staff and delicious food. The usual things you'd expect to see on the menu and many other specials too. We will definatly return when we're in Brighton.

Great food, lovely staff,went 2 nights running. Food cooked fresh so vegan to order as well for one our our party. Great house white as well, tastes like vinegar in a lot of places but risked it as only wanted a couple of small glasses.

Food was ok but don't expect any customer service!! We were almost not welcome in the restaurant!! The waiter had no interest in making us comfortable. We went on a Saturday night and when we asked for more bread instead of telling us to wait a bit longer he almost talked is into not ordering! The food quantity is way too less compared to the price.We ordered for lamb biryani which is of £12 but the quantity was not good for even 1 person ! The prices are way too high and service is pathetic! Go if you really have no other option!

Almost everything tastes the same. Differences in flavor between the very many dishes available are minor. A sweet as hell curry is not properly described on the menu as it should be (more of a dessert with chicken than a main). Generally focused on takeaway and fast-food style "curry". The ambiance though is nice.

Good service & well presented food but over priced compared to similar restaurants. Also soda not on tap to top up drinks...you are required to buy small bottle. Curries are milder than generally experienced..tip is to ask for more spicy than usual if you like your curry to have a kick. Nice restaurant overall but surprise is music playing is not indian music but 'lift' music...nice but not authentic.

Travelling for work we had a takeaway from here and were not disappointed, one of the nicest curry's we've had anywhere, very friendly and polite staff , the restaurant looks lovely , good luck on opening back up again guys if we are in Brighton again will definitely come back .

Food is okay but service is pathetic! They are really not concerned about there customers! The waiters are Ill mannered.The prices are above average and qty is below average or much lesser I should say! Go only if you have no other choice left!!

Bay leaf is an unassuming please with a mediocre interior design but unsurpassed quality of food, generous portions and friendly staff going out of their way to please the customer! A tat expensive but it’s worth it’s money.
I have been living near by and never thought getting in, but now I am looking to bringing my friends and partner. Thank you for this experience!

Hands down the best chicken Korma I have ever had. And I've had a fair amount of Indian food as it's one of my favorite things in the world.

The biryani was aweful. The motton dishes had potatoes in them. The quantity was so less may be the waiters should let the people know how much they should order looking at the number of people present on each table. And most of it the waiters were outrageous. The attitude was bad..when you order dishes they will discourage you to order rather than letting you know on first first that quantity is less. We almost had a fight with one of the waiters because of bad attitude

If your looking for amazing tasting Indian food this is the best here in Brighton, very very impressed with how authentic the food was. Absolutely delicious! Customer service was amazing, the staff were very attentive and Were able to cook the food exactly how we liked it’. We really enjoyed the jhalfrezi, the lamb chops were soft and well marinated. Biryani and nan was spot on aswell. So compliments for the chef also. Nice environment too. I had a really good time and that’s why really wanted to leave a good review, being a fussy eater I was surprised how everything was spot ok, they really deserve all the compliments, highly highly recommended.

I went to Bayleaf last night. Will probably go back there tonight as I'm staying in Brighton on holidays up to January 21st.
Had Chicken Danzak. Delicious dish served by a waiter whose name I don't know, he had a ponytail and was extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.

Tonight was my first time at Bayleaf and the service and atmosphere was great, the portions were perfect and I'd recommend the tikka masala dishes.. The garlic & cheese naan was the best I've ever experienced! Thank you Bayleaf!

Came here Monday night staff very friendly and helped understanding what the dishes were as this was my first time in an Indian restaurant, my girlfriend has so many allergies which is very difficult for one she cannot eat cinnamon and as you no it’s very popular in Indian cuisine. Food was amazing and staff great especially the waiter who looked after us on that evening. Thank you very much and I can’t wait to come back
