We come here as often as we can! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the food is always very good; we often go for breakfast or brunch and the selection is good and the quality always high.
We have a 6 month old girl and the staff are always lovely and accommodating of her and her needs (the high chairs are nicely padded and a good size).
We have not been there in the evening yet , but as soon as we can get a babysitter we'll be there!
Edit : the cakes in offer are a nice variety: today we had a gluten free chocolate fudge cake and an orange & chocolate cake : both very nice!

I came for lunch and the food was definitely above average and not too expensive, with a great selection of cakes to top it off. The reason I'll be returning however is the gorgeous interior! A delightful place for business lunches and casual encounters alike.

Hixon Green is an altogether wonderful experience, from light bites with a choice selection of beverages, soft and alcoholic drinks, smashed avocado on sour dough for an early brunch to a full plate of luncheon served on the day. It is dog friendly, has good facilities for dealing with large groups of people. Very comfortable seating. Also has an extensive selection of home made cake and pastries. Staff are approachable, friendly and hands-on. A lovely place to chill. Go there.

I have had coffee twice here. The staff are incredibly lovely and the houmus starter dish is amazing. Fully recommend... it's a lovely slice of Central London in Hove.

It could have been better. We went for brunch. Staff was lovely and the place is beautiful, but the food wasnt great. Spinach was bitter, eggs were cold and the coffee was nothing special. Wouldnt go back with so many other great cafés around!

Hixon Green is a gem in Hove. Very different from all other coffee shops in Brighton and Hove. Really good food, a great variety of cakes, amazing coffee. Go upstairs for a more spacious place and comfortable sofas. Pets and children friendly.

Really nice place for a treat. Seating upstairs is stylish and our cocktails were delicious. Perhaps a bit pricey to be a regular haunt, but perfect when you want to feel special.

Brunch ruined by poor service. Food we got was ok. But order was wrong. One person had no food on a table of two. When we said we hadn’t got all we ordered in the meekest way possible, we were told we had. The server went back and showed us the notes they had taken. No contemplation they may have misheard. No apology. Really badly handled. It was like it was really important for them to prove they were in the right. Maybe think about how your staff handle complaints.

Well styled interior, meals or coffee and cake. Initially gave a higher rating but watched staff drop cutlery on the dirty floor twice and just add to the draw with clean cutlery (no hygiene standards!). Really bad, should have gone back into the dishwasher. Not sure I'd want to use their knives and forks.

My wife & I ordered Lamb as a main course, firstly we waited over 30 minutes before it arrived, the Lamb looked like it had come out of tin of cat food & did not taste much better, it was shredded lamb & tasted terrible, my wife ate very little & I a little more. We called the Waitress over & said we could not eat it, we were offered something else but declined.
The manager then came over & expected us to pay as I had eaten some of the vegetables, but I said we are not paying anything & he agreed, we then left. I will not be returning.

Popped in for tea and cake, was perfect as dog friendly and plenty of room for my sister, her baby and pram. Past a very happy hour, the polenta cake was delicious, only comment is that the baby changing rooms were very cold.

Popped in for a coffee and some weird Matcha tea thing for my friend. There’s a great selection of interesting and strange teas, if you like that sort of thing and a whole host of milk options. The waitress was really lovely and gave us a slice of the vegan lemon drizzle to try. It was amazingly nice and I wanted to say thank you, it was a really nice gesture but had to dash off before I got a parking ticket. Anyway, thanks, a great coffee and apparently a very nice Matcha blueberry tea!

The menu says "Gluten free options available". When I asked about different items the option was always not to have the item. Unless it was gluten free bread. After all tha my breakfast arived on glutinous bread. It came back cold. The steak has been taken off the menu.
