I booked and went for Breakfast. The confirmation email had the menu attached but unfortunately the items on the menu were not available in the the restaurant. Hence not 5 stars.

Best full English in town so far.. Lovely place always busy but not a long wait.. Menu is well thought.. Will be going again very soon.. Coffee is great. Nice open plan place with an upstairs to get away from the hustle and bustle. Great job Hixon Green. A fine establishment..

Agree with another reviewer - depending on what day you go in depends what service you get! Most recent visit service was particularly poor we got someone else's bill added onto ours and when we questioned it the server was very rude and made a comment about business meetings and people coming and going so they don't know who's paid and who hasn't and then he didn't know how much to take off the bill even though we told him what wasn't ours. Sort your customer service out!!!

Classy joint and upstairs is the bee's knees.
Only came across this venue through some Singles Events from Love Doctor Monti and now I go for a weekly coffee.
I'd recommend because cakes are tasty, coffee strong, bustling with beautiful ladies and staff are friendly.
Love it but only downside is it isn't cheap!

Every single time I go to Hixon Green I get welcomed like I'm the most important person in the world, I literally feel like I've walked down the red carpet and am being met by the most amazing genuine and authentic welcome. This in a nutshell is outstanding customer service and these guys really have got it very right. I think they're leading by example and are rightfully at the top of the customer success game. From a leadership perspective this is an outstanding case study.

I tried the breakfast on Sunday. Four of staff who i deal with and all are lovely smiling & happy, service is perfect. Atmosphere is unique, kind of noisy, all people around happy and talk on Sunday morning, but much quite upstairs. Upstairs are amazing like a lounge with big sofas, it nice for reading and working for long. Food was amazing too. I read a sign that they hire the whole upstairs for events for up to 50 person with no hiring charge, just the minimum order for each.

Splendid place to sit with friends, to be alone with a book or to study. They have comfy chairs and sofa's everywhere, free wifi and waiting service. Upstairs is bright and usually not very loud. They have free wifi which is excellent. The coffees and great, the cocktails too only they are quite expensive. This is my favourite place to go to get work done and enjoy the sunshine at the same time.

Absolutely love Hixon Green. A place to go for a social breakfast or drink, but I also hold business meetings there too! Lovely breakfasts, good lunch/dinner menu and really reasonably priced. Fantastic cake and the thing that really makes it is the really lovely, warm staff. Looking forward to Saturday morning breakfast tomorrow! :) Natalie (and James)

Staff are lovely & friendly here...we were looking forward to the veggie breakfast, we thought it had to be good for £13.50...disappointing....sausages were not cooked & the 'grilled' tomatoes...were raw..the staff apologised & our drinks were taken off of the menu by the manger, which we were grateful for...we'd been looking forward to the breakfast as so many places have this as an option now but not everyone gets it right....

Love this place. Happen to know that the head chef spends a lot of time sourcing the ingredients locally. All top quality stuff. Even for you simple full English breakfast. Very fair prices too.

Best stop on Church road! Both Coffee and wine selection are amazing. Love the fireside chill out area, big glass windows for mornings and smart restaurant side the other. I haven't checked out up stairs yet but trust me I will. Thanks for looking after us guys.

Tasty, good quality food but unfortunately very slow service. Our coffee orders were forgotten about and took 15 minutes to rectify. We would’ve understood had it been busy, but there were 6 members of staff on the floor on a quiet weekday morning.

Have been eyeing up this place for a while, always assumed it was a brunch and lunch venue but they have a great evening menu, we were really excited by the options available, healthy fresh options. Great cocktail list but they are a tad expensive (could be couple of £ cheaper).
Would definitely return as we loved the vibe so much, not pretentious, nice simple light and beautiful decor. Only disappointment and not 5 stars because they didnt have vegan options that sounded amazing. But I had the tempura fish and chips and a hummus starter, no complaints, a very satisfied customer!
Finally, the staff were lovely, and explained that food takes a bit long as they like to do everything fresh, cant fault that!

The food was nice and had generous portions, but the wait was ridiculously long. We were told at the door there was a wait of around 20 minutes for food, but 30 minutes passed and still no food. Eventually I asked about it and was told it wouldn't be long. It had been busy before we got there, so I guess they were catching up from the rush. Still 40 minutes is a long wait for brunch.

All these 5 stars must be their friends and family, in return for free coffee. Great interior does not make up for the unprofessional, awful service from all the staff. The owner is just as bad. He stood their and watched all his staff running around after him and didn’t lift a finger nor smile at one customer. At one point I noticed him making fun of me and my mum after we had finished discussing our query with the waitress - not professional, please don’t do this again to future customers. They clearly have no clue about customer service and I will never return. I was hoping to restore faith in this place after they offered me a free meal if I returned. So I followed them up with this request via email, to which they went back on their word and refused the free meal. That just proves they don’t know how to deal with customers. Don’t think their fancy sofas are going to save them long term. I’m pleased you went back on your word, it definitely helped confirm I was not going crazy and you really are as bad as I thought!!! The one star is for your cake selection only.

It's probably the trendiest place to dine (and lunch and have breakfast too) or simply hang out in Hove! The decor is stunning and the seats upstairs offer great views of Church Road. Although we found their hollandaise sauce a bit too strong and the salad dressing on the side salad for veggie main far too oily!

Mmm very much enjoyed eating here with my parents. A fancier place than most breakfast haunts in Hove, as pescatarians we very much enjoyed the set menu and the flavours were new and unique to us.
The price is fair for the quality and service you recieve, I'd love to stay upstairs some time for an evening meal!

Just what this area needed! Really lovely venue that offers it's services all through the day. Coffee and breakfast to lunch and through to dinner with wine. I've been a few times now and loved it every time. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good service!
