LOVE this place. We've recently moved to the road this lovely place sits on, and how lucky do we feel! Incredible cake, perfect coffee and wonderful staff. Plus the decor is wonderful. One gentleman in particularly who was there the morning we first came in for breakfast (breakfast are epic just fyi), and he remembered us upon our return... everytime we come in we are always so looked after. Perfect.

Wine is very expensive a small glass of red wine goes from £6 to £10. When it first opened prices went from £3.75 to £6 approx. And the red wines are not amazing for the price they charge. Defiantly not going again.

In business you have to make it easy for people to part with their money.
If you own an establishment where there are designated eating only and drinking only areas, you need to make customers aware of that. However, that policy is ridiculous in any case; what if you have a drink then decide you want to eat? Do you have to then move and find an 'eating' table or do you leave to find a place with less regulations? None of this makes it easy for a customer to part with their money.
You need to make it easy for those with dietary issues to part with their money too. This place has one menu with several vegan options, which was handed to me in error. The correct menu for the time of day had no vegan options on it. Although the veggie breakfast could be made vegan.... couldn't it?
If you are going to veganise a breakfast by taking dairy items off it, it's good practice to offer other items as replacements. Otherwise it's not a very good breakfast. Never should you leave it up to the customer to ask for these, or suggest extra items. Just taking dairy off without offering anything in its place makes £13.50 for toast, mushrooms, a tomato, some potato and some avocado ridiculously expensive.
To summarise; make it a pleasant experience, free from rules and regulations, offer good value and make sure there are things on every menu for all to eat. And you'll have the recipe for success.

This place. It's really such a shame their service is just a disaster every time we go. I'm not sure if it's the management or just that staff aren't adequately trained. It looks like it has potential from the outside but the staff issue is a big one, plus dirty, torn menus that should have been binned months ago isn't great either. On the last visit, the 'superfood' salad I ordered appeared to be topped with fresh grapefruit, dried apricots and muesli?!? Fish woefully undercooked. And sweet potato mash that seemed to have added cinnamon ☹️☹️☹️

£40 for breakfast for 2 !
Very overpriced for what we got, my steak was appalling. a poor cut full of fat. I actually could not chew enough times to try digest it. I had to spit it out in the toilet. I also could not finish the rest of food on the plate.
Will not be going back here again. Deffo give a miss.

I’ve attempted to have brunch at this place three times, all three visits were disastrous. First visit we were brought out wrong orders, which happened again on the second visit. On the third visit, we waited 45 mins for a coffee, to be told they forgot to put our order through the till and said we’d have to wait an additional 40 mins for the food as there was a delay in the kitchen. Terrible customer service.

Came here for lunch. I really liked the concept of the menu (you choose a main part, a potatoey dish and veg to go with it) and everything I ate was delicious. However, every element had very strong flavours going on so maybe it would be good to have suggested options on the menu (eg. "Salmon best paired with X and Y...") The decaf coffee was excellent, although the flat white was too big for my liking; more like a latte. Clearly very popular on a weekend but this meant the wait for food was a bit too long for a quick lunch (40 mins) and service not very attentive. Despite that, everything I tasted was great so I would return and just hope some parts could be improved!

Joined some friends for food, the food is quite nice, however, the staff are quite rude. A man, I belive is the manager was quite short with his staff memebers...I've been to Hixon a few times and have seen him talking to his staff members badly. I have also witnessed seeing the owner of the place who sometimes comes in and sits with a moany face in the corner of the room and judges everyone... It would be so much better if everyone was more smiley.
